I need a specific roaming build
we’ve all seen what happens in games where there’s no disadvantage to taking your pants off.
I have all classes:
- acceptable 1v1 and 1vX
- swiftness to allies for running dolyaks
- enough AoE to flip camps fast
- doesn’t need to swap weps (because I’m lazy)
lol wut?
Officer of [DEX] Deus Ex Machina Eu and [Fus] Fus Ro Dâh
Ruins of Surmia
Condi bunker warrior…
WvW Rank 3800 (Platinum Veteran) – PvP Rank 69 (Shark) – 25,9k Achievment Points
Mërcenaries [Sold] – Ferguson’s Crossing
Don’t run Condi warrior, only kittens run condi warrior.
Simple.
Just make a LB ranger.
All you do is Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew Pew
XD
Pretty much all classes fit that description, which is the point of GW2. I’m just going to ignore your last bullet.

define acceptable and define weapon swap.
I dont see any build out there that is able to 1vX without swapping weapons unless you dont count attunement change and Kits as weapon swap.
shortbow bleedstack ranger:
Can you kill enemy with just SB? Yes
Can you survive with just SB? Yes (Ultra Hard Mode)
Can you take camps, 2v1’s, and 1v1’s with SB? Yes (again, Ultra Hard Mode)
How much condi pressure can you apply?
With Sigil of Earth and Sigil of Torment, in addition to Sun Spirit, you can apply 20 stacks of bleeds, 1-2 stacks of AOE torment and have high burning uptime, almost at all times. you can also do AOE blind, “cleave” poison, AOE immobilize and much more.
What is the counter?
Builds that churn out a lot of hard CC, like hammer warrior, rifle engi and DP or SP thief.

I’m sorry… you want to roam using 1 weapon set only? What about throw in using no utilities? xD
You’re better off in PvE… but if I do meet you on the battlefield.. thanks for the free kill in advance. :P
Some kind of turret engi with med kit?
You’d want bomb kit or grenades for camps.
what you want is an Acro Sword/Dagger teef.
2/0/0/6/6
You are extremely capable 1v1 and 1vx, just dont get stunlocked.
You have a Shortbow for camps if you desire to use it.
You dont actually need to swap weapons, you can stay in S/D the whole time.
Thrill of the crime will give swiftness to you and yaks and your party (fury too)
Best roaming classes are mesmers and thieves mainly because they can easily reset a fight, escape from an out matched fight (such as a zerg) and do very well in 1vX situations.
I personally like the thief over the mesmer since it is faster. An alternative is the jogging warrior or celestial D/D ele. While they generally lack consistent stealth, they are very mobile classes and when played well can hold their own or better.
Engis are decent roamers but their attacks don’t flow very well so it is a lot of micro-managment. They also do not handle being straffed well. The condi variants can be wickedly powerful. GS/LB Rangers are popular but it takes a lot of more skill to make them play well against a skilled opponent.
Guardians and Necros have some excellent 1vX builds but are too slow so they frequently get run down by larger forces.

If you want one weapon set that is easy to play, Has high dps and has speed and sustain plus boons for allies (kind of sounds what you are asking for) it doesn’t really exist. I like my engi, but that takes a lot of skill. I like my necro even more, but that does not have boons for allies, speed, and is not easy to play in 1vX scenarios unless you are good. Most of all, I love my thief. HOWEVER, thief is hard to play, does not solo camps fast, but does solo them easily, and cannot provide support for other classes. People will Rage when you kill them and claim your class is OP, or you’re hacking. But, if you get good, you can burn through enemies, 1v5 consistently, solo keeps, and even get to a point where you can 2v17 with another thief.
But if you want the easy way out, Condi regen or shout warriors are pretty kitten good and deffinetly take no skill
Best Wishes, Oscuro of Kaineng
its not like they (warri condi bunkers) take no skill. its more like you can overpower any mediocre build/skills by rolling your face on the keyboard, you mostly dont NEED skill. when you go fight 1v2 or duel an experienced duellist.. it takes skill just like any other build. the usualy shout healing build with longbow has a lot of tools to master and it took me about 2 months to get gud with my rotations, combos and pulling out the tools (blinding shot, immobilize, leap-effects, call to arms, might stacking, fear me) to the right effect at the right moment and im still working on some parts of it (final thrust, movement). because to fight this build enemies need to be skilled AND have a really good build or they are free kills – it generates a lot of hate by people who feel like they have no chance against the build. but yeah:
•acceptable 1v1 and 1vX
•swiftness to allies for running dolyaks
•enough AoE to flip camps fast
definately the specs.
except:
•doesn’t need to swap weps (because I’m lazy)
Best choice for this is definitly a Condi-Warri as told before.
Chars: The fluffy Flapsi (Ele), Fipsip (Mesmer), Flappo (Necro), Fenix (Engi)
D/D ele bro. Change attunements :p

All professions can be built with your criteria in mind. My advise would be to practice in the mists to find a profession and build you are comfortable with. Only you will know what works with your capabilities.

This is the build I made specially for lazy people, no jokes, it’s very effective, give it a try!
Maybe OP just doesn’t want to change weapons out of combat (to move faster, be stronger in different situations, etc.). This is reasonable.

only thief can do those 3 in bold . i am explaining in the next quote .
the only classes that dont change weapons are eng and ele. but they lack of stealth to save dollies . only stealth can save dollies . nothing else.

…..
i agree for thieves but not for stealth .
shortbow , d/p thief with thrill of the crime in traits and with rune of the pack rune can run almost in full stealth and with swiftness a dolly from camp to any destination
when i want to run dollies i am switching to my thief . he is dedicated to run dollies . on friday reset is the most important that can do a roamer to help his server for the first upgrades
Shout regen ranger with elite spirit > thief at dolly running. Yes, with some Rng, we can even stealth the dolly while providing perma swiftness and regen (spirit + boon = 642hp/second with apothecary). If ranger runs Axe Dagger, Sword Torch, enemy attackers (especially thieves and engies) will die from condi spam, trying to kill dolly. Tried and tested build, it works and like most ranger builds, only weak to stunlocks.

1v1 and 1vX all depends on who you are fighting and what they bring.
I would generally suggest the thief. It requires medium skill for maximum gain.
DnD ele requires maximum skill for medium high gains.
There are some exceptions. So cant really answer the question i.e. I have seen crap Mesmers kill moderately skilled warriors.
My favorite Dolyak escorting classes are Ele, Engi and Guardian. They are a handful for a thief trying to take out a yak since they have excellent durability and strong AoE capability.
