Most annoying class to deal with in WvW?
thieves, and then a vey long time nothing
Thieves. They stealth, hit, get out of stealth, DON’T RENDER, crit you for crazy amounts while still not rendered. They have enough burts to kill you during the precious few seconds it takes them to render.
100% World completion.
Mesmers. Their portal breaks the game. Illusions are annoying, too.

As Sebyos said, they are beyond annoying to fight against. If they don’t instagib me, they will just stealth stealth stealth, if that doesn’t work for them they will run away and there’s nothing you can do about it. They are invisible insta-kill class that can also escape without punishment because you can’t catch them.

Mesmers “would” be, provided we were unable to see the portals.
However see a portal throw aoe’s on it. It works well.

The rendering issue makes them ridiculously OP. I got no problem with a regular setup, no nerf bat from me but if ontop of their stealth they arent rendering thats a major problem/annoying.

Nothing new here. Rendering issue and being able to stay invisible even after receiving a damage is OP. Mesmer is nowhere near to that.

The first hit from stealth is pretty much always for free and invisible and usually a backstab or backstab combo.
A fully geared backstab that takes down another glass cannon with no toughness and no orbs and has the HP of a rabbit (or under lvl 80) is perfectly normal.
There are to many glass cannons saying they die to quickly…… thats the issue. Glass cannon is the thiefs favorite prey

I build a Tanky Warrior and still die pretty fast to Thieves, but I guess the next thing you’ll argue is my player skill isn’t it. Don’t know why people defend something that’s clearly broken.

I assume you play a thief, and therefor haven’t noticed it.
Spvp and wvw are different. Loading issues in mass pvp, and even when alone if the wvw world is lagging a bit, mean you don’t render after you break your stealth. 4-5s of “loading” invis every time you break your stealth.
Its an issue of visual culling and lag. Again, even with SSD here. There is often a large delay, or as mentioned server side culling.
Mesmers — the first class to get nerfed.
I’m a bunker/condition thief and have zero issues with glass cannon thieves. People need more vit/toughness and defensive traits imo. They can only kill me if two skills are on cool-down which means I’m already fighting someone else and not being attentive.
Annoying to me are defensive guardians. They just never die and can always run to the nearest friendly NPCs. The curse of defense vs defense.

Thieves are annoying. It isn’t so much that they are amazing. I can usually kill them 1v1 on my warrior. But often times the fight goes a lot like this.
Me 80% health, them 40% health
Them: Invis
Reappear at 85% health
Fight
Me 35% health, them 25% health
Them: Run away Invis
Me: chase, immobilize
Them: Short bow…port….port….port

Yes I play a thief, and Ive killed 3000 people in WvW, a large part of them thiefs. And I didnt use stealth in my build. (Withdraw and RoI)
I have not noticed a rendering issue when killing thiefs that use stealth so must be something your end
Ive only died once from a thief in under two seconds: He used a back stab combo on me but was still able to get him to 5% health in 2 moves before i dropped in about a second flat as i saw him first and took the first move
Looked on youtube… No videos of this rendering issue either and no posts by dev acknowledging it. And lets be fair to Anet…. They acknowledge the issues players have raised pretty well

Come out of stealth and still can’t see kitten. By the time they finally do begin to render, they’re stealth again. And besides, in any group scenario where there’s a zerg or something (which is more often than not lately), you can’t finish one off without popping some super long CD ability to do it. And even then, ur screwed if they port away.

They can simply out run you using skills like Infiltrators Shot and the 25% movement speed passive. Even using Sword/Shield and Greatsword catching up to one is an arduous process, as the “cool down” on infiltrators shot is far far lower than Great Sword’s Rush or Swords leap.
It certainly doesn’t help that the skill completely ignores conditions such as cripple and immobilization either.
I play a full support thief and glass cannon thieves are a joke. Most of them unload on you in their first skills then are initiative starving.
The trick to survive them is simple, toughness and vitality.
If most of your utility skills are DPS skills you are doing it wrong. You need survivability, you need to use combos in order to survive.

Infiltrators Shot doesnt have a cooldown. Uses 4 initiative.
It actually uses 6. The quotation marks are there because the amount of time it takes to gain 6 initiative is lower than it takes for savage leap, rush, or to a lesser extent, whirl wind to complete their cooldown.

The range of Infiltrators Arrow isn’t effected by Cripple or Frozen. It also completely ignores Immobilization.
Warriors have no pull skills, all of our stuns are melee range, and we have no skills that provide confusion.
To put it simply, the very moment a Thief decides to run from you as a Warrior, he’s successfully disengaged you.

Have no complaint about the rest. Funny thing though, these two were my primary choices at first, but once the game launched I rolled an Engineer instead. Maybe it’s good, I don’t like playing OP classes.
Thief defiantly has the best combat mobility. It’s by design. It’s even in their profession description on the main site.

Warriors weapon swapping can keep up pretty well though.
First, I’m a thief, so I probably easy mode everything and have no real skill. But being that as it may, I can’t remember ever being killed by a thief in a stun lock in WvW or sPvP (I’ve only played maybe 70-100 games of sPvP though). In fact, I can’t remember ever being killed by a thief period (discounting cases of 1v2+, starting with < 50% health or some zerg AoE crap).
Many thieves have tried, but I literally chuckle inside whenever I hear those dinky little swipe sounds because it’s a guaranteed free PK even after their cute little dance gets me down to maybe 20%.
I have no stun breaker. I have +500 toughness and +675 vitality. I run P/D.
So…. what’s the deal? Am I so OP I out-OP my own class? Am I ripping a hole in the space time continuum?
If the complaints are about 1v2+’ing and a thief comes in and nukes them, I assure you any class can do that.

Thieves – broken with the stealth problems allowing easy kills
Mesmers – have some bug issues right now with their skills also allowing easy kills
Thieves… a class that has so much burst shouldn’t be able to have that mobility and easy escapes.

Don’t Warriors have an AoE with Immobilise on Longbow?
Bull Rush to charge and knockdown?
Shield slot 4 to charge and stun?
Hammer burst skill?
Infiltrator Arrow allows the thief to shadow step away but he’s still immobilised at the other end.
Mesmer, broken class… :/
Thief is by far the most annoying.
Mesmers are an easy second, but still no way near as annoying as thieves.
(And this coming from someone who’s current main is a thief).

I somehow never have an issue with thieves in WvW.
sPvP is getting a bit harder, but in WvW most of them just spam heartseeker when i have 100% health.
For myself it depends on the situacion, i’m having issues with the warriors burst damage on the ground, engineers can really do some damage both defending and attacking with the granade kit, due to granades being in the air while trowing the next set.

The fact they can hit you for insane amounts and you don’t even see them because they haven’t rendered (I have lovely fraps footage of being killed by a thief, they don’t render until I’m at about 10% health) and that they can stomp whilst stealthed which means it has NO counter. Needs nerfing.
Plus they are just very, very, annoying. Too much utility for that amount of damage.

Where have you been? It’s all over the forums AND all over youtube, the rendering issue is a massive, massive problem in WvW at the moment. Makes thieves literally impossible to see, yet they can still hit you.
