Yet Even Moaarrrrrr CD/Mag/SBI 3/29
There’s a post from a day ago from a TSym person about fighting, so I think news of SoS’ death has been greatly exaggerated, for now. Once/if TSym and AFS leave, SoS will probably fall a lot faster.
The problem is that SoS feeds at night like hungry dogs and we can’t stop them, also EBG turns into a 1 v 1 between DB and SoS, CD numbers at night are barely a half of the numbers SoS can put on the field after “the fall” of SoS, and DB’s WvW population has increased considerably since 2 weeks ago, things have changed, DB’s actual coverage is 24/7 and consistent even at NA primetime.
All this talks about them dropping multiple tiers probably had some of them fired up too. Like, EH-veryone, including people who didn’t even know who they are, are wishing them to DIAF just so we can have the possibility of more balanced tiers. And SoS is just refusing this involuntary martyrdom.

Well they’re definitely losing momentum fast from last week where it seemed (from points) they were solid T3. Now they’re clearly dropping but it looks like we might have to wait another week for it to happen.
Projected scores atm are:
1 724.697 Mag
1 728.853 SoS
If I’m allowed to suggest it, maybe CD and SBI try a little less hard this week for the sake of more even matches next week?

Or maybe SBI and CD can forge and alliance to face Mag, it would be interesting to see and mag would not get bored, but i honestly want you guys at tier 3.
I feel like SoS is demoralized, and we might stand a chance against them, but SoS will probably kick our kitten
But it doesn’t matter who we end up fighting as long as we can fill maps and get queues at some points during the day. Queue = full map = balanced population.
SBI
LoD was probably the last guild on SBI that ran with a real plan or group make up and they are long gone. AoN was on our server briefly but left, and they looked for small outmatched skirmishes. All SBI has now is a bunch of guilds that have 4-7 participants a night hopping in whatever map, for the most part. Aside from UDL who I think already fought some guild, there isn’t any other “try hard” types left on the server. Maybe some of the solo players would rather chime in, but really we don’t have that kind of presence. LoD and SF probably the last.
You don’t need a guild to participate in fight club. Just enjoy pvp and like getting better. When people want a group at fight club, someone just says in /s if they need more, and 5 people will jump at it. We do that because wvw is pvp oriented and we find it fun.
Maguuma is winning from numbers, but the score is silly. Our roamers is dying for other roamers to fight with or fight clubs to go to. For the talk about Mag being bad open field, we need to bend over backwards to try and find people to fight at all. Most SBI just waypoint away.
edit: We’re going tryhard to try to get back to t3 at this point. Yaks hate fighting just as much as SBI, but DB has some good people that we can have fun with again.
I have come solo to fight club and enjoyed it. We came as a 4 man guild group that was slapped together at the last minute and didn’t show well. We had not practiced as a group before and didn’t have the right classes to counter…no mesmer…and y’all even offered to go mesmerless to make it more fair which I thought was very classy move on your part…..but the group fell apart with first one then another saying they had to go..
I have tried to get our guild to field a group for fight club since then but we are always being pressured somewhere it seems and none feel we can spare the people just for a little fun I guess. We don’t have all that many guildies on at the same time most nights since we have people from all time zones.
But you keep saying we run from fights and WP back at the first sign of MAG….which is not true from my prospective I have died many times to the red ragging rampage……but when the fights we face in the open field vs MAGs is almost always getting rolled over by 3-4 times our number are you surprised that many try to avoid you?….if you really want WvW open field skirmishes try giving us a chance with more even numbers once in awhile.
Those groups you have at fight club are very good, your large zergs get watered down with not so good pugs is my guess and while they still roll over us with shear numbers we have many times wiped greater numbers then us due to that diluted talent.
Not trying to insult your individual skill which is no doubt very high.

We can’t really tell our pubbies to go away, unfortunately, especially with this new patch. We almost always start out as a guild group, but it certainly doesn’t end that way. But considering our guild evolved from public Mumble players, it’s not that surprising.

Why am I being called Mag now?? I do run CoF sometimes but I’m not Asura and don’t get bugged in lava!
But really, everyone has their own opinion, I’m just giving mine. I don’t find this match very fun and only reason I’ve come to WvW at all is because I made an ele that I want to learn. So to answer the other question, no I haven’t been trying AT ALL.
Just pointing out that the next match is up for grabs which may or may not influence your motivation. It does for me, I might have to start putting some work in.
I for one don’t mind slowing down a bit. I love the hilltop view of our current spawn point & mortaring SMC’s northeast wall from red keep
So to answer the other question, no I haven’t been trying AT ALL.
Well giddyup cowboy, you only have one and a half more days to pass up SoS, or you’re stuck in this tier for another week.

WOW! PYRO and a zerg just meelee’d down SBI’s garrisson. Whoa dude. It’s called arrow carts. Also, did you like our poses? I think so.
Necromancer | Warrior
NO TEARS ONLY DREAMS
As I recall, we had two or three arrow carts but a shortage of supply to build more.
That was the strangest way to lose the garrison after knocking out wave after wave of Maguuma assaults armed with golems and catapults. And probably why just zerging it worked – too much of the setup consisted of ballistas meant for the slow or non-moving targets.
Then everyone disappeared and the map turned blue again within an hour.
Farewell Mag. I still think you’re the best server in the game, but it was time to leave.
goodbye ooa
It seems like CD and SBI are sharing another week full of love with Maguuma, it has been 1 month already

It’s like people on our server have different opinions. Crazy, right? :P
I know you know this, but to reinforce your point:
We have people who don’t want to move up a tier and face even crazier zergs
We have people who just want to farm WExp
We have people who want to move up a tier for more challenging play
We have people who are just tired of this match-up and want something different
We have people who are just kind of burnt out in a more general fashion and don’t have it in them to be tryhard right now.
And those groups aren’t mutually exclusive.
We’re probably more fragmented and directionless as an overall server than I’ve seen us. Personally, I’m hoping we get a decisive points lead early next week and we can “focus” on getting tuned up, but… who knows.

I don’t think t3 will be more challenging, just more numbers. That means more WXP and fun. We’ll lose in t3 to DB, but I don’t think anyone cares about winning. SBI and CD have many hours of dead time where it can get pretty boring.
Mag have memories of FA/DB in t3 and don’t want to go back, but yaks is there now. I don’t care how much people want to fluff yaks as some kind of threat, they’re no FA.

Well, you guys usually are at 250k+ score on friday, but this time Mag is at 210+ on thursday, is CD and SBI improving or something?, because that’s some difference…

I actually believe that CD is improving. I also believe that CD and SBI have gotten more benefit in NA from the burst of additional players that the patch brought. I made a comment to someone on Mumble last night that everyone gained proportionately, but as I consider how things have gone over the past few days, I don’t believe its true.
That said… Gaining another 40k points in the next 34 hours doesn’t seem unreasonable. That works out to 1,111 per hour or an average PPT of 277. I’m pretty sure that’s still well within our grasp.

Last week we ended up with 258126 points. If we extrapolate out a linear point gain given how many hours are left in the matchup (32), we get our expected points right now:
258126 * (136/168) = 208959
I think the only difference is that you no math good.

All servers probably did gain proportionally, but there’s also the “Queue” factor. Mag was already getting queues before the patch hit; CD and SBI generally weren’t (and still aren’t, but this week have sometimes hit the queue for EB, if I understand correctly). No matter how good one server is, they can’t steamroll EB if the other two servers are maxed out there as well. And, each other server will probably also be able to defend its own BL reasonably well. Result = most populated server maintains control of SM most of the time but everything else is fairly even, except during off hours, of course. Well shucks, guess this matchup isn’t so lopsided after all. The scores could be even closer next week since CD and SBI could have more comparable numbers to Mag all week, as opposed to the influx on Tuesday of this week.

I… used the matchup history page on millennium matchups to see what we got last week and I used their reset timer to see how many hours were left. The fact that we had 210k points 8 hours ago and are still above the expected value right now just further demonstrates that we’re actually doing better in points than we did last week.
I guess learn2internet or something. Although that’s probably a lost cause at this point.

Good fight SBI. You guys know how to take advantage of opportunities. It’s not something that I see done by previous servers/worlds as much as you guys.
Good fight Mags. Despite us getting your hills earlier, you stopped our small number of golems at garrison.
Good fight, good night.
See you in the battlefields.

Looks like a certain someone IS still reading my posts. I knew you couldn’t resist.
Leave WvW for a while, come back, CD and SBI are still chickenkitten scared of fights. It’s almost a pleasure to play during oceanic prime time because at least people don’t run from a 1v1 until they see their friends.
The oceanic presence of CD should really transfer to a server that plays mainly during their prime time. They’re likely to get something other than PvD and won’t have the rinse and repeat of not having anything when they wake up because all the other times can’t hold anything. They are the only glue saving this otherwise dead and weak server from drowning in the tiers.

Not sure what CD you’ve been seeing, but the DURP (rofl) nametag from what I’ve seen almost always translates into free kills. I’ve lost count the number of times when I’ve been in a small group that steamrolls a DURP-bad zerg that outnumbers us 2 or 3 to one. The DURP zerg of course responds with more numbers. 10 DURP bads aren’t enough to take a supply camp being defended by 2 CD? Then bring on over another 10! rofl
Interesting video of the cherry picked fights though, but doesn’t mean a whole lot. After all, I’m sure many of us here have been victorious when we soloed 2 or 3 enemies. Only thing is, not all of us record those encounters and post them on the forums in a bad attempt to look good. But hey I understand what you’re trying to do. After all, if winning doesn’t come often for you, then you must record+show the few measly morsels whenever you do get lucky.

Curious to know what your guild tag is. I’ve never lost a 10v2 before. Also, you never see 20 of us on at the same time, so you’re exaggerating.

Also, if a thief scores first hit on me and shaves off about half my health I am not sticking around to fight. Sorry to disappoint, but starting half-dead isn’t my idea of a fight I want to stick to
From I have seen during this matchup as a solo roamer- SBI usually has some decent solo roamers flipping camps and CD, while not having solo roamers( that I personally have seen) will usually have a group of 5-10 going around capping camps.
All in all, easy to find some smaller scale fights around instead of zerg vs zerg all the time, thanks for the fun CD and SBI
