I don’t know how you guys can support someone who takes the credit for saving Southsun and investigating Dragonbash when in reality she relied on the thousands of ‘heroes’ that do the dirty work for her. Why does she get to go on the council seat? Why not me? I slayed hundreds of Karka, fought endless Aetherblade pirates and solved the murder of our former councilman.
Yet here is the Honorable Kiel, claiming it all for herself.
You all should be ashamed.
#VoteEvonGnashblade
Do you have any proof that Kiel took credit for Southsun and Dragon Bash all for herself? No, because it never happened.
Proof? what!!!! “it never happen” what!!! so your saying that Southsun never happen and we never fought off Karkas while Kiel stands there and watch you do the work. Evon did what he was best at. which is doing buisness. atlest Evon knows how to run a buisness and keep the economy running in tyria!!! what can Kiel do? takes all your glory!!! for god sake i should gut her and feed her to karkas!!!!! Kiel never done her job properly or at all!!! what kind of Liongaurd stands around and let others do work and then takes the credit? i mean look at Evon to be able to run BL TP that connects all the servers like DB,TC,FA,SOR,BG,and JQ the rest you know.
#Vote For Evon Gnashblade.
For the better future of Lions Arch, heck if Cobiah was here he’d say the same thing!!!!
When did she “take the glory?” She didn’t. Also, it is a leader’s job to LEAD. They take all the information, analyze it, formulate a strategy, and then tell others what to do. Leaders aren’t going to be on the frontlines where they will be a prime target for the enemy. They stay back in the relative safety of their base, where only an expert assassin has a marginal chance at taking them out.
I’m definitely voting for Kiel. I’m not going to be swayed by a single fractal.

People may have likes and dislikes of both parties, but given the 2 options, there is only one logical choice….that is unless you like frustration and suffering.
1) if you want to bring up gw1 fine, lets look at who made pre searing into the searing………that’s right the char.
2) which party is in favor of you the player wasting your hard earned money while laughing at you not getting what you want because its all “CHANCE” and “RNG”, all the while lining their own pockets with your hard earned money while you get nothing……… Evon Gnashblade
3) looking at the rewards for the parties, you get to save money or spend more money on more “CHANCE” maybe its just me but id rather have reduced costs saving me money than someone reducing the price of something you have to buy and even then its all “CHANCE”
4) Kiel helps people Evon Gnashblade cheats them taking a cut of everything they get and sell on the tp.
Its clearly obvious; vote to save money and someone who will help the people, or vote to spend more money and still not get what you wanted through “CHANCE” with someone who lies and cheats the people that work hard and play right.
Kiel is the only choice here! my vote goes to Kiel!

DUDE wtf have you been fed with? uhh the Searing ok you want to know how it started? alright then, the Humans were the ones that came and took Ascalon by force, and what the Charr did was normal and fair by taking the land back by force. Nothing wrong with that an eye for a eye. Think of it this way, how would you like it if someone came and beat the hell out of you and left you in the streets and takes your home? Its the same concept. so dont give me the crap about the searing if you dont do more back-up research of who started everything. The human history was proven to be made up with many fale lies and information about the real truth of Tyria. Read the books and youll know more about the original history then all those half made up story.
Cheating off peopl in TP? what!!!!! dude you know TP is just like the stock market. Gnashblade doesnt cheat you off TP, its the players that does the work get it right. Which stuff on TP you buy thats overprice and everyone complains about is sold by Evon? The only thing he makes money of most of the time is from the Gem section, and the small fees from you putting your items up for sale on his property(more like using his company name brand). Who doesnt like Gold? heck if i were to pick a downed player or 100gold my first choice is the gold without thinking. Hell even the fowned player would be like “GET THE GOLD kitten, WE COULD SPLIT 50/50”. i mean dam ill leave you to die for even 5 gold!!! ill just send you 1 gold later problem solve buddy.
Spending money on BL keys even if you dont get good things? well heres the thing. there is no such thing as FREE stuff in this world, even in video games. If the peopl are willing to buy it then its their risk and trust me most of them would not complain, i know i wouldnt, reason simple i chose to spend it on them even though it is low chance of getting what i want. Just because you dont want to waste anything dont me people dont either, you should stop thinking about how everyone is like you. Theres gonna be those that complains and those that dont care.
and the last part, you kinda backfire yourself with it if you pay attention to what you said on phrase 2 and the last phrase. Kiel helps people? What have you been paying attention to? when was the last time she really help someone? can you tell me that? Last time i checked it was Me the palyer who did all the work, and guess what Kiel pops up and takes all the credit, how nice and she gets to run for Councile member, hell no id be the last person to drop my vote on someone like that, she already lucky that i havent gut her with my Claws!!! oh wait i forgot i could use my GS instead.
#VoteForEvonGnashblade. For the better future of Lions Arch.

OOC: How would you like it if someone destroyed your country and kicked you out of house and home because of something your ancestors did over a thousand years ago? That would be like saying that it would be justified for Greece to nuke Anatolia and wipe Turkey off the map because of what the Turks did to the Byzantine Empire back in the Middle Ages.
IC:
It has come to my attention that Evon’s supporters have attempted to justify their candidates transparent lies by claiming that such duplicity is standard practise in politics, and thus necessary and, in fact, desirable in a politician.
Leaving aside the observation that, if this is true, what we would want is a competent liar and not one that is so easily caught out, I ask the question: Are we so comfortable with the status quo that we have come to not only accept it, but actively advocate it? I say nay! Fellow heroes of Tyria, let us demonstrate that the heroes of Tyria deserve, no, demand leaders that will not treat us with such contempt so as to attempt to befuddle us with such shallow deceptions!
In this time of crisis, Tyria needs leaders that will aid and support those fighting for Tyria’s survival, not ones that will exploit and defame us for their own gain at every opportunity!
And let us not forget, it is Evon that profits from the despicable practice of selling lottery boxes at exorbitant prices rather than selling goods directly at a fair price. When he abuses his power through the Black Lion Trading Company, imagine what he might be able to do should he gain the power to influence legislation on the Captain’s Council? Will we see a Black Lion monopoly enshrined in Lion’s Arch law, forcing all of us to go through the reprehensible medium of lottery boxes to acquire even the most basic and necessary supplies to defend Tyria while Evon grows fat and rich off Tyria’s despoilment? Adventurers of Tyria, whatever bribes and platitudes Evon may offer are simply not worth the risk!

all I got to say is wow…someone has issues I suppose its pointless to try to explain all the things wrong in that long paragraph or misinformation, but here are a few. no NPC helps you unless they are part of your story, they metaphorically help the made up people in gw2 the npc roaming the city, you know those pixels on your screen. Want to explain to me the last time gnashblade left his tp to walk into your fight to help you oh right no npc do that? Next you claim you like gold but defend the made up npc taking a portion of yours contradiction much? Last part I wont touch your anger issues, but please keep this about the actual debate and not your lack of intelligence trying to bash other people by picking and choosing certain parts to take and others to ignore. Yes long story short id rather have a person that helps people in lionsguard than a money grubbing char, but after reading that tiring smear campaign full of contradictions; I see you both have the same philosophy on money so your wanting to relate to a char like that makes sense. Either stay with the fiction or go full facts makes it hard to read someone going between fantasy and reality!

I guess that we are fortunate that it does not take courtly manners or understanding of strategic realities to fight.
You were one of an army of defenders that protected the settlers from the crazed animals stirred up by Canach’s well-intentioned but misguided plots. We have received rewards in gold and items for our role in those events, but there are clearly not enough positions on the Council to award one to everyone who fights on the front lines. Ellen brought us together and got to the bottom of not only that mystery, but coordinated the investigation that led to Mai Trin being exposed and brought to justice.
Furthermore, are you really so spiteful that you will deny another a position because it was not offered to you, and grant it instead to a ruthless exploiter that wants nothing more than to squeeze every copper he can out of you to line his own pockets? Kiel is at least a Lion’s Arch native, which most of us are not, and I sincerely hope that you realise that if somehow you had been offered the position, it would be you that would now be the subject of Evon’s ruthless lies and defamations.

You do have a good point there but for me if I can’t get it then l make sure they don’t get it aswell even if it goes to some exploit. It’s one of the basic tactic that adelbern left behind. And I also like to creat problem in the story, just really spice things up. I would love to see another havoc again on lions arch or better yet a huge invasion and some NPC need to die to make the story more interesting in my opinion. Cuz if everyone lives then the story would get boring. Death is a wonderful twist and entertainment in story’s. :P

Who is the most suited to defend the city ?
A common cop not even able to stop canach by herself and who keep begging us for help so we can expect her to run to us with her tail between her legs as soon as a small danger will show up ?
Or a charr, not only clever and skilled in diplomaty that he could prevent any conflict before they even occur but also wealthy enough to buy a whole army and supply it in case of a threat ?
Is Lion’s Arch a pirate city or a freaking monastery ? We don’t need morality, we don’t win wars with principles we do it with money, shady politics and treacheries and Kiel wouldn’t even be able to recognize deception if it were dancing in front of her naked.
Vote for a real pirate, one who can effectively defend Lion’s Arch : vote Evon !

@SiegHawk: the charr propaganda of Ascalon being their territory from the get-go is the greatest BS I’ve ever heard in GW. Fact is, Ascalon NEVER belonged to the charr to begin with. They came in as conquerors, dominated and enslaved the primitive originals called the grawl, they fought and probably pushed out the dwarves whose empire in Ascalon had spanned from the southern Blazeridge to the northeast (beneath the surface), and they fought the Forgotten who also had a presence on the northern shores of the Blazeridge and southern Ascalon. Out of those three, two were defenders or close allies of humanity. Forgotten were their shepherds for a time and assistants to the Six Gods, and the dwarves of old were on good terms with the humanity until their schism and civil war (mind you, Deldrimor still maintained good relationship with both Kryta and Ascalon). If anything, humanity took back what was originally the property of their allies, but those conceded to let them hold it and build their empire there.
Even though it was the Flame Legion that opted to use the Cauldron of Cataclysm, many charr still approve of using it as it “won” back their ill-earned and usurped lands – they approve of the mindless destruction that wrecked a country for decades and led to the slaughter of thousands of innocent, defenseless people.
However, this is not Evon’s legacy. Still, Evon’s legacy is also thousands of slain people out of all sentient races. He’s probably the wealthiest mortal on the continent, yet he did absolutely nothing for the betterment of Tyria. Just from the hole in the left pocket of his trousers he could’ve funded charities for victims and refugees of dragon invasions – like the Vigil. He could’ve invested in research to find better ways and technology to fight the dragons and their minions. He could’ve set up state of the art defenses on Claw Island, Lion’s Arch, and those many villages and ports that fell prey to Zhaitan’s filth. What did he do? Sit on his furry backside, swinging his tail while counting the astronomical amount of gold coins he’d made under one day from taxing real heroes that brought and end to Zhaitan’s reign.
If you have conscience, you vote for Ellen Kiel.

Fellow defenders of Tyria.
As many non-asuran will read my letter, I will try to use less sophisticated speech, so even a drunk Skritt can still understand it.
As the dragon threat grows larger, we need a leader, who understands the needs of the people. Tyria as a whole stands before two choices:
At one side, we got the wealthiest man of all, who does business with people, who have proven to be willing to do anything to get more money, while on the other hand, we have a person, who stands firmly by her beliefs. We do not have to go as far as to analyze the character of these persons. Let’s just look at straight facts:
Personally for me, the incidents at the Thaumanova Reactor have been very shocking. I went there personally and helped to clean up the leftovers of the explosion, risking my life to try and contain extremely dangerous chaotic materials from spreading.
Many krewes gave their lives to seal off the hazardous anomaly caused by the explosion, yet we still know so little about it.
For me, as a man, who helped to clean up and still follows occasional distress calls, researching that incident might be the most important one out of all the points brought forward by Ellen Kiel.
However, let’s move on to the important matter at hand: How to win the war.
Instead of bringing forth suggestions on how to win the war against the dragons, Evon Gnashblade simply tried to give alms to the masses. He is using the power of his company and company assets to try and bribe the people into voting him, as if we were dumb Skritt – by the way, are those filthy rats allowed to vote? – whose only drive is to “get shinies”.
He did this for a reason: While it might seem, that the lowered prices on keys might be good for the population, in fact, it will only benefit the ones, who already are wealthy. It will have some short term impact on Gem Stock prices and drain lots of money from the people, but in the end, all the money will slowly flow either to the wealthy traders, who can afford those transactions and control stock prices for pretty much anything or directly to the Black Lion Company.
On the other hand, Ellen Kiel brought forth some fabulous suggestion: Lifting the difficulcies, travellers face these days, when trying to get around. Because this is also, what will allow us defenders of tyria to respond to dragon attacks and hazardous incidenta at the reactor with ease.
Everyone faces travel expenses. But while for the wealthy ones, they are merely an inconvenience, the ones on the poorer side have to fear for their existence each day, because the fees are so high.
What Evon suggests, is some kind of lever: The more force, you can exert, the greater its effect. Basically, people with more money to spare will get more use out of it.
On the other hand, what Ellen brought forth, actually benefits us all AND the people of tyria. Also, the long term prospects of what Evon suggested, are rather dim. There might be some chance, someone gets lucky and turns from a no-one to having 1000+gold with a single flip of a key, but the effects will mostly benefit the ones, who don’t need help. In the end, nothing will change, while Ellen’s suggestion has the potential to change things.
While many back in Rata Sum will disagree, with what I say, I will still say it:
I honestly believe, other races are capable of thinking ahead, too.
What will come after we got our keys?
Will the poor ones be left in the gutter, while the rich ones amass even more fortunes?
We truly know, what we will have to expect here. We have to think about Tyria, not about our pockets.
My vote will go to Ellen Kiel.
-Peacemaker Napp
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
I love all the fancy durmand priory history lessons with more filler than point. I don’t need a history lesson to decide my vote.
I mean you honestly think that in a pirate town with pirate councilmen, they would let Kiel try to sway what they want? Sadly money decides politics, and Evon has it.
If the priory loves her so much, they should recruit her into their ranks and they can go explore tyria and write some more books.
KEEP Lions Arch a TRADERS TOWN!
EVON FOR COUNCIL
So Gnashblade want’s to promote his keys. That’s something he already did in the past, and he will do so in the future, no matter whether he wins the election or not. It’s basically a cheap promise since he doesn’t have to do anything he wouldn’t do anyways, and it will just fill his pockets. Also, by voting vor Gnashblade, you vote for more RNG boxes in the shop, and who want’s that?
On the other hand, Ellen will reduce the waypoint fee for a while, which will promote the use of waypoints instead of slowly traveling by feet. With more people using the waypoints more often, the krewes who research new and improved methods of fast and safe travelling will have more funds for their research. This will lead to more, better and safer waypoints and asura gates which will make life easier for everyone.
And then look at Gnasblades promise of funding the developement of a new fractal about the fall of Abbadon. First of all, it’s just a cheap copy of Ellens idea of improving the fractal experience. A Charr funding a story about a human god? Can’t you see where that is leading? We all now how proud the charr are that they killed their gods. So if a charr is funding the story, it will show how the charr killed Abbadon. And since Gnashblade is a greedy and selfish businessman, he will cut costs whenever possible. So he will just copy the ascalon fractal and rename the final boss to Abbadon. Want something new? Not with Gnashblade. And who cares for some dead bookah ‘god’ anyways. If he was so weak that he was killed, what exactly qualifies him as a god? You really don’t need godly powers to get killed …
Ellen on the other side will fund the research into what has happened at the Thaumanova Reactor. That is important reseach! If we find enough data, it might revolutionise the energy industry. Think of all the great things we can do if we can improve our energy generation devices. New and improved Golem designs. Portable lasercannons for everyone. I know you want one of these! It will revolutionise everything. Tyria will become a better place to live for everyone. With new high energy weapons, the remaining dragons will be killed in no time. Bright and clean street lights everywhere. More and better Golems. And maybe we can even create new long-distance-gates to Cantha and Elona. Admit it, that’s something you all want!
So even the most stupid bookahs have to see that Ellen is the only option here, since there is no asura candidate. Gnashblade will give you nothing. He will even take more money from you. And Ellen will probably lead to a better future for all of Tyria.
Vote for better and safer fast travel options. Vote for new and improved golem designs. Vote for lasercannons. Vote for asura gates to Elona and Cantha. Vote for research into the Thamanova Reactor. Vote for Ellen Kiel.
The waypoint discount is the most retareded idea ever of all time. Who in the right mind would want something thats as useless as ever. i for one use waypoint the most and it doesnt affect me since i find the price of it already cheap, so uhh 5 silver to go from ascalon to maguuma? np a fair price wont hurt my wallet. I smell poor or cheap players who cant even spare a couple of silvers, i for one only played the game for 5 months now and never thought of having waypoint price cut. its just a waste of event. also i often gives free golds to many new players that i sometimes party with, not a big deal its not like i cant earn it back. Also i support the Abbadons fractal, reason is i never play GW1 and no i will not play it just to know that story also ever thought of watching the story part in better graphic rather then the old graphic? there are people that are not gonna waste time on GW1 just to get to see the story, and some that dont like bad graphic. Also in my opinion if your really talking about help the city out i think Evon would do it better, reason hes got the money, what does Kiel have? oh i just remember takes your spotlight as hero.
What can kiel offer me that i want more? id think about it if she drops down and do some lap dance maybe ill switch over, other then that dont think theres anything in it for me.

Quaggans support Kiel, all arguments are irrelevant now.
I’m still undecided. While I definitely want to see the Fall of Abaddon more than the Thaumanova Reactor Incident, I have a deep-seated moral objection to Evon’s business practices. I mean, come on, even his economic incentive is nothing more than a shill for him to sell more of his stock! :P

As long, as we need to buy another currency to be able to buy those keys, the change in price won’t mean much to most players.
Actually, Evon probably wants to have gem prices skyrocket, so he can sell his personal stash of gems for loads of Gold. He’s trying to make it look like he gives alms to the masses, while in fact, the only ones who will benefit are the ones, who run the economy. The typical adventurers and defenders of Tyria will be left in the gutter.
#TeamKiel
On the other hand, we could buy loads of gems, vote for evon and sell them for loads of money…
My current Bank account reads 20 Gold. How many gems do you get for that again?
God, I should do un-fun dungeons or TP flipping instead of enjoying this game

Kiel, for the simple convenience of WP cost reduction since most of the community uses them. Concerning the Fall of Abaddon vs the Reactor, I think the Reactor has more mystery and possibilities Anet can work with.

Thanks I borrowed Anets “Quaggan likes you” pic, removed the sign, put the ellen kiel poster there and added a hat to cover up the area where part of the old sign used to be. Pretty happy with the result

I personally will vote for Ellen Kiel because…
-Kiel will reduce WayPoint prices, and I use them a lot!!
Black Lion Keys on the other hand, I’ll probably not buy a single one in 4 weeks, but WayPionts…
-For what I care about Abbadon, or the reactor… I’m a casual player, not someone who grinds dungeons, thus my opinion in remains neutral.
-Also, I’m more used to Kiel since I’ve seen her in events, but I’ve never heard of Gnashblade ever before.
-And, last but not least, Quaggan supports her, all your arguments are invalid!

Your first point literally makes u a racist but 2 can play at this game. Who cause Snaff and Glit to die o ya a human. Who ran away as a coward a human. So why should we trust LA to a human over a char. And to people who say we cant post vote for EVON here you guys arn’t respecting our Forem so Why in hell should we respect yours.
So now let’s examine both choices.
1. We choose Evon for the FOA, but only because we expect a very cinematic fractal.
2. We choose Kield, because of our lack of knowledge about the events at the Thaumanova reactor.
I don’t know about you but im rather interested in an event which supposedly affected the entire world, changing the fabric of reality itself, perhaps even the mists.
#TeamKiel
Thing is, the reactor explosion is a past event. As in, if it changed the world in any meaningful way, the effects should be seen today shouldn’t they? We were on Tyria 250 years ago, so we know it wasn’t that different from how it is today, so this throw away line about how it changed the world forever sounds like quite a large embellishment.
Even if it did change the world, doing the event itself wouldn’t matter because that doesn’t show the change, that just shows the explosion and whatever caused it. I don’t see how a fractal is the most appropriate place to explore something like that, it’s something that should be expanding on in the Living Story and the open world considering that part of the world is easily available to players.
If it changed the world, we should already know about it seeing as we exist in the time after the change takes place. I really hope it ends up being “strawberry’s now taste like passionfruit”.

What you are basically saying is that you would be fine if Native Americans set off nuclear bombs around the USA then enslaved the children that survived because hundreds of years ago those peoples ancestors invaded them. Because it is the exact same situation.
Nice little insight into your mind there.
I don’t think war ever ended between char and human so i think it more embodies conflict in middle east where their is a constant anamosity between the two parties. Also the searing happened in the past it is the equivalent of saying all Germans today are kittens. So it is a racist statement to use for a political setting.
Kiel probably would want to distance herself from supporters like that but that is politics
Kittens was not Kittens

Difference is, Germany doesn’t honor and build monuments to Hitler.

I don’t think the playable Charr make monuments to the flame legion.
Go to the Charr City and look at all the statues celebrating Charr ‘war heroes.’
What does Kiel give you? nothing!!! What does Evon give? Free Kite!!! Free hologram minis!!!.
ArenaNet gave me those. Evon spat on me as I walked by him one time. Pretty sure it was him, he looked shifty.
Not convinced enough justice can be done in a single fractal when it comes to the imprisonment of Abaddon, plus I’m a sucker for the underdog.

Vote for Ellen. Vote for the future. Vote for Lion’s Arch.
First, if you take that first paragraph there, change all the GW2 words to ones related to the subject and played with the phrasing, that could work out quite well as an attempt for justifying the Spaniard’s conquest of the Native Americans…..
The Vigil isn’t a charity fund, it is an order dedicated to fight the EDs through force. But you are right. He could have set up a small army to defend LA and Claw Island those other villages and towns in the area afflicted by Zhaitan. Except for one thing…those places were supposed to be under Lionguard control. Claw Island may not have fallen if it weren’t for irresponsible Lionguard leadership there. But, while Magnus and Kiel and their cronies (admit it, Kiel is just a soldier of Magnus’) couldn’t set up a valid defense against the Undead Elder Dragon, the man of money and supplies could have saved lives.
Hairy dude or fine lady? Obviously the fine lady.

It’s hilarious you compare the Ascalonians to the Spaniards. The charr were never native, not in their whole bloody existence. They came in as conquerors and then they went whining when they were shown that aggression won’t be tolerated. If anything, it’s like as if Italians nuked most of Europe for losing the Roman Empire over 1,500 years ago. It would be quite ridiculous, and it does make those charr ridiculous who still approve of the Searing.
The Vigil does charity. Talk to their representative in Divinity’s Reach – possibly in the other cities as well – and a Vigil Tactician/Warmaster in that northernmost camp in Sparkfly (where the bugged Tower of Modius event chain begins).
First, the resources of the Lionguard are stretched pretty thin. It took the three orders and a large enough Lionguard force to take back Claw Island, and still at serious casualties. The island would’ve fallen anyway, but I admit: the garrison could’ve stood a better chance if it wasn’t for a prideful charr veteran who heeded no warnings. Second, you admit the truth, yet you deny the consequences. Again: that man of supplies and wealth DID absolutely nothing for his fellow citizens, innocents who were his clients and consumers. He let them die or get reanimated into Zhaitan’s servitude. He could’ve saved countless lives. He could’ve earned his seat on the Council instead of bribing and lying. But nooo… Gnashblade would not spend a filthy bronze coin on helping others. All he cares for is himself and his precious wealth. If Gnashblade is voted, he’ll plunge LA deeper into that well of corruption.
