Token Wallet! Thank you a-net!
I’m assuming it’s still possible to withdraw them as items though, because some of those items are needed for Mystic Forge recipes. Or will you be able to load the Forge directly from the wallet?
Sooo, I’m guessing the currencies at the bottom of your inventory will not show anymore, but you’ll see the collective amount from your wallet. And whenever you go to a vendor, you’ll see the amount straight from your wallet, and you don’t have to ‘withdraw’ to access it.
Does that mean whenever you’re awarded tokens they’ll go straight to your wallet, and you don’t have to sent to your wallet, as the current token/badge right click option suggests.
Yes. After the wallet is in place, the tokens are no longer physical objects, they are handled the same way that gold, karma and laurels are handled. So like you said, it makes it a lot easier to use them at the vendors as you no longer have to go to your bank to withdraw them.
And to answer another question: Pristine Fractal Relics are not part of the wallet.
Will you still be able to deposit gold in bank? Or is this also gone and is achievement bound to the wallet now?
An excellent question. It might just be to accumulate 100g in your wallet now.
200g
Nice. I love that change. So we can use all the karma items to get the karma instead of saving them cause it does not matter on which care we use them if karma also will be in that wallet?
Any news on which things will be in that wallet? WvW Badges hopefully will be included? (since they already are account bound).

they are not used in MF, u need to buy the items from the dungeon specific shop and throw those in MF

Tokens have never been physical objects.
Loving the changes.

As I am not a designer I do not know 100% how it works, but the recipes have been modified to work within the new system. I think (take this with a grain of salt) you can spend the tokens on an item that then will be used in the recipe.

Fractal relics are needed in multiple MF recipes.

If you look at the releases page I linked to above, you’ll see that fractal relics are specifically mentioned as being possible to deposit in the wallet. There will need to be a way to withdraw these items or directly load the forge with them. Otherwise the recipes involving the relics will need to be changed.
well i can get excited over this. truly only good news here

Thanks, I appreciate the answer.
Wow. This is an absolute magnificent feature your introducing. Thank you a thousand fold. These type of additions make me want to spend money in the gem store!
Yeah, what it sounds like is you’ll be able to “buy back” actual item tokens for use in forge and crafting recipes. And maybe “sell back” unused tokens to return to the wallet? Hopefully!
How about those tokens from Super Adventure Box? I stockpiled some Baubles, Bauble Bubbles and Continue Coins in my bank.

So gold will never need to be deposited in the bank then anymore, it’ll all be in the wallet (after each character has logged in), correct? Or in other words, the bank gold section is not going to be there anymore?
Please give us a keyring…
Fa ha ha ha habulous
I do love that the tokens are not taking up inventory space anymore, although I will miss having split gold reserves. I liked being able to track how much money each character had individually, because it made it more clear how much each was bringing in at any given time.
you spend complaining about it on the forums, you’d be
done by now.”
Thank you so much, Anet!
These kinds of updates – simple, universal, and useful – are worth ten Living Story updates.

What will happen to Jugs of Liquid Karma? Will they stay in my bank or should I drink them all now?

I would like that question answered as well; is the achievement still possible, and if so, what are the new rules guiding it?
What will happen to Jugs of Liquid Karma? Will they stay in my bank or should I drink them all now?
Does it matter, drink ‘em anyways, since now you don’t have to save them for a certain character.

I would like that question answered as well, i didnt “stockpile” them but they’re taking up space that i would like to use for something else.
Thank you Anet! you rock =D
Nice change. Thanks ANet

Actually, now that it isn’t character-based…these karma consumables will likely become obsolete. It would make far more sense to simply award a given amount of karma rather than a consumable that serves no purpose.
So will there be an actual limit on, say, how much karma can be stored in this wallet?
I have never held over 999,999 karma on a single character so not sure if the current backpack physically has enough digits to exceed that number. But if the wallet cannot hold more than 999,999 karma I might see some of the karma on alts go to waste if it is all automatically siphened to the wallet on 6th August.
Always happy to get more storage.
THANK YOU.

I was telling him what to do with the ones he already had.

I drinked them all.
Karma Booster, Karma Food, Karma Banner, Guild Karma Bonus, 332 Jugs of Liquid Karma +250 Vials of Liquid Karma = ~2.9m Karma Points.
Now give me something to spend all these points

Is it a Black lion Trading company Item to purchase? similar to the premium wallet in LOTRO? Even if it is, Im still getting it.
WOOOOT!
This sounds like possibly one of the best additions, so very needed, I can finally use my bank for completely useless junk

No, it is a free feature.
killer. luv u gw
Please find out why pristine fractal relics are not going to work with this system. It would be a shame to not include them.
nice, i just bought extra slots for my bank for nothing ^^
i’m not complaining of course, just feels like a waste now…had i known earlier…
What about?
- Pristine Fractal Relics
- Baubles
- Bauble Baubles
- Tokens for living story events (you get stacks and stacks of them)
- …
Tokens for LS events i would imagine are not including due to the fact that they are, for the most part, temporary.
To answer a few of the questions:
- Pristine Fractal Relics are not included. I am not a designer so I cannot accurately comment on why they are not included.
- At this point the wallet supports core currencies, not seasonal/festival/temporary currencies. At this time we have no plans to add those to the wallet.
- Jugs of Karma will remain an item and can be used as usual. The karma you gain from them will then be stored in the wallet and will be accountwide.

And the gold collecting achievement, is it still possible?

Yes, the “Golden” title can still be acquired, simply by having 200g, since depositing coins into the bank is no longer possible.
I’ve seen this nowhere.
It will be an automated change or something you have to acquire?
If it’s something you have to buy, will karma and gold become account bound too for those without the wallet?

You’re the best!
I’m sure it will only be a few days before players that have a need to separate an amount of gold from their total will begin bringing up issues with this system. Was this considered?

I understand you are not the core designer on this feature, you said so earlier. But please ask around the office if you can, weather its an oversight or on purpose should be a quick info grab from whoever does know.
This is a great feature, but there have been too many times where a feature was half explained, leaving some detail hanging that has caused anger and confusion.

But but… I want to deposit my gold into the bank…
I hope this comes with a brand new “Fat Wallet” title.

I’ve had over 3.4 million karma on one of my characters, so I know the limit goes at least that high. I suspect it goes up to at least 10 million, 100 million or possibly even higher.
If Character #1 have 1000 karma and Character #2 have 10k karma, will I then have a total of 11k karma?
I know the answer should be ‘yes’ but I want to see the response from the Dev.
Thanks.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
I’ve finally found a personal game breaker
All my alts are separate, I want them to keep the coins and karma they earn. The other stuff sure but not that. Doesn’t look like there’s any options
I won’t be logging any characters on after the update. Sorry fellas, don’t like raining on parades but I felt I should put it out there
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?

Good to know, cheers! Guess I don’t have to worry about spending excess karma and can start blowing through all my karma pots to free up some space on my main.
I have over 200k karma on a character…does that mean i can now use the 200k karma with my other characters? :O
Correct. All currencies in the wallet will be account bound.
This is great too! Didn’t though about it affecting account Karma too
