I have no idea why they are so reluctant to buff the Scepter?

It is clear for a long time that it suxxxxx….

Does the developers has some secret builds that somehow make the Scepter work and they are waiting for us to discover?

If Scepter is power weapons then make sure that it has power coefficients to act like one. Either they do that or make sure that all 4 attunements have some power damage not only fire/air and the rest only make pew pew….

And when you are at it revert the changes to Bolt to the Heart, make Fire Tooth land-able to somebody outside of we stun lock him for 3s and give some tool to Scepter against Stealth spammers.

I use S/W on my Ele (especially in the open world, where anything is viable), because Staff and D/W are too mainstream … however, I agree that Scepter really need buffs.

- Increase auto-attack speed;
- Dragon Tooth landing faster;
- Increase the power coeficient of Arc Lightning (the damage is ridiculously low).

I’ve been thinking of making a reddit thread about changes that the Ele community has been asking for forever, including:

-Scepter buffs
-Elite skill buffs/reworks
-BUG FIXES (especially bugs affecting Grandmaster Traits like Lightning Rod and Written in Stone)

I’m too lazy though.

I would suggest to give teleport to scepter. In the past I was against it, but I changed my mind. It could be pheonix. So when he fly we can teleport to him. If ported before explosion it will cause explosion. If ported after explosion works normaly.

Rock barier should be more aoe short-range(~meele) thingy, to fend off meele presure.

Air aa should be reworked. Next aa to rework would be fire.

Shatterstone it should at least look like playing a game that you summon time limited bombs to make enemies beat about to not fell into them, but now its one, not signifact and easily to avoid. That skill had much feedback in the past.

No scepter changes suggestions about ele:
Ice bow in elite conjure. Increase cooldwon from 60s to 90s.
Fiery gs stay as elite conjure. Decrease cooldwon from 180s to 90s. In that way you have normalized cooldowns for elite conjures.

Arcane shield decrease cooldwon from 75s to 30s or at least kitten .

Glyph of renewal should have additional effect that is triggered whenever used and that not deepends on attument. Eventually change glyph to signet. At least passive effect could have more meaning.

Conjure flame axe rework it. I suggest to make it: minion like spirits weapons or time limited buff to power to allies or aoe long lasting fire field with low dmg per sec/pulse, but with huge dmg on explosion + knocback or pull.

It would be nice, but to be honest I don’t think adding more auras would help in the right direction, because that just means that scepter would become more reliant on the tempest trait line.

The problem with scepter is
1)mostly slow or unreliable skills, and
2) lack of self defence which COULD be auras, but I’d rather give scepter a cc, say earth 3, and change the active portion of earth 2 to be a block.

Don’t forget about staff! Look at what sand squall does, then look at staffs magnetic aura… I know the world isn’t just black and white but its stuff like this that makes me think staff is so outdated its not even funny. they both have the same cd and one skill gives more utility than the other.

But here’s the issue. Even if scepter Ele becomes viable again, what role would it play? Would a Zerker/Marauder scepter Ele be able to survive with Thieves getting buffed and with Mesmers and Revenants still running rampant? Even if it does survive, what combat role would it do well enough to justify taking it over other specs/professions?

Not trolling here, legitimately curious.

No, it won’t survive. It seems like they’re trying to also nerf the defensive side of ele. Even with all the damage in the world burst ele wouldn’t be viable because it simply cannot sustain any fight.

And remembering last time when they said they will buff scepter, they will probably just add another vuln stack to shatterstone.

I would love to see air 1 able to hit 3 target within 180 radius, and ull see the arc spreading out to its targets from the center beam (like wow shaman chain ligthning)

List of Scepter and Focus weapon skills that need to be looked at:

Dragon’s Tooth: The only thing this is good for is maybe standing under to ward the enemy off as its about to land or use it in a blast finisher for might, it should only take 1 second to cast and then immediately land IMO. Even then you’d be able to outrun the blast if it was cast right under you but you would at least have some sort of chance at landing this ability if it was tactically placed well.

Flame Wall: This skill is pretty weak and takes way to long to cast for how effective it is.

Fire Shield: Why is this skill on a 40 second cd? Fire shield is arguably the weakest aura out of all the auras Ele has. I really think this skill should have the cd reduced and some extra perk that grants some form of defense.

Flame Strike: Takes way too long to cast for what its worth, if it could be casted in 360 degrees I’d then see a point to it.

Ice Shards: Too unreliable vs a moving target past melee-ish range.
Shatter Stone: This is probably the most underwhelming skill on the scepter, its not even worth using almost ever.

Freezing Gust: The cool down is just far too long for what this skill has to offer*
Stone Shards: I’d prefer this skill not be a channel and instead remodeled around the idea of a 3/4 second cast time, it would synergize much better with healing signet if it had this sort of cast time.

Dust Devil: This skill doesn’t really work at a far distance, this skill needs to have some sort of extra perk ontop of it and needs a wider hit box.
Rock Barrier: This skill isn’t too terrible for its defense but using it offensively is usually not that great, I’d like to see this provide some sort of defensive perk when used.

i dont like to complain about things in game that i dont like, but as of today im going to at least this once.

my dead and rotting grandfather can decay faster than the time it takes for the skill to go off. Can we please get a new skill that ISN’T RELIANT ON A TARGET TO SIT THERE AND TAKE THE HIT?

please for the love of god Anet, bros and girl bros just take that skill and turn it into something useful? like an ice field? like a skill that isn’t trash?

i wanted to get that off my chest, sorry. Anyway Im really hoping that more changes will be made to Ele, it was one of my 2 main classes at launch for about a year its been sidelined because its just been hit with nerf after nerf. Its elites are all jokes Tornado is terrible in that it has no place in most content, the glyph summons a minion with crap Ai as most Ai is. FGS is the only remotely useful one to escape combat or to reach a fight, and Rebound is completely underwhelming with its small healing value not being able to save a ladybug in a strong windstorm. id just love to have fun on my ele again in WvW or in PvE again like i used to when utilities were not under powered and so bad they hurt, and elites that actually did something aside from being complete butt.

also screw shatterstone….

people are the reason we cant have nice things…

I think it’s a good thing since Shatterstone is completely useless. They should fix the skill so it’s worth casting. However, they have no clue how to do that. And on top of that they are unable to buff what needs to be buffed.
