Because I spend most of my time in WvW, I like to change colors depending on which color my server is representing each week. I don’t have the widest range of dyes on my Guardian, I don’t have much selection, but I am looking to expand. I use Apricot, Winter Sky and Limette, which are all default dyes. I also use Natural to give it some trim and make the primary color stand out. I don’t like using the brightest colors available, I like them being subtler. On other characters I use various different dyes that may potentially look good on Guardians including Sea Green, Moss, Country Teal, Papaya and Amber.

I couldn’t decide for a long time when I was leveling because I didn’t want my guardian looking like a fruit salad. In the end I just went for straight silver and let the world’s lighting bring the beauty of the colour.

What armor is that? I really like the look of it.

I think that is the PvP Heavy Plate armor.

Yup, I looked it up and it’s Invader’s Armor bought at WvW vendors for Badges.

After crafting myself a set of iron Gladiator armor, which looks more or less like leaves and leaf-shaped plates, I went over to Umber and Sour Apple. It matches really well with the rare Bandit Eviscerator greatsword I’ve been using. I wish I had a screenshot to share, maybe later.

I was glad to be able to use the leaf motif with my Sylvari, because otherwise it’s another silly example of less coverage = better armor.

I use Abyss dye/ white/ Cobalt on my guardian.

Currently Sky, White Gold and Ash/Cobalt. Sometimes i put in a half sky and half blood (sky on the trousers/shirt etc and blood on the armor highlights).

I have been pretty happy with Cherry – Red – Ruby for the red depending on which armor, and Gold or Illumination for the gold color, once again depending on the material or metallic of the base armor.

Gold + Celestial + Ruby (the little symbols are Stream)

(edit: I think in the picture I didn’t apply the ruby yet as it’s a little deeper)

Cornsilk and Lava, but I blend in the colors with ligher / darker ones.

I’ve been using a combination of Redemption, Emerald and Antique Gold that I rather like. I think it fits rather well with the Priory weapons, which I am also fond of.

I use celestial and brook . Tried almost all the blue hued dyes and brook just felt the most natural to me. I’ve tried aother colour combinations but blue and white just seemed like the most identifiable for a guardian.

Black/Ice Lemon (or antique gold for boots, legs and arms because it was to pale with ice lemon)

My guardian, missing only head and shoes from dwayna arcon armor. Dyes used: blue tint, mint frost, blue shade.

(btw. does anyone else find it sad that all the dungeon (story finish) helms, and most other helms you get as drops, have exactly the same look?)

Here’s my combo:
Abyss + Midnight Fuchsia – to match my asuran sword!
I think the Halloween Scythe Staff skin goes well with my dark theme.

Considering that I am unlikely to change my armour look ever (although underneath it is now 6/6 Knight’s Exotics as opposed to the standard Durmand Priory rare) I change my colour scheme every few days. But I have been wearing the following colour scheme for sometime and it’s probably the scheme I have struck to the longest!

For the metal, I used a combination of Icing, Ash, and Charcoal (and Chalk on the sleeves of the chest, since its colors display as a little off from the rest of my pieces.) For the cloth I used Lava and Sunset (which display as the same shade.)

The cloth used to be Oxblood to match her leaves, but due to a bug, equipping the silly Halloween backpiece deleted my old invisible one and forced me to carry a burning book on my back. I had to make my gear a smidgen more orange so nothing clashed.

I’m liking Celestial, Winter Sky (starter colour) and Mithril, which has a very faint gold hue to it. Some sets I also like small accents of Redemption or Illumination, but partly depends on how many dye channels/whether I show shoulder slot or not.

Love autumn, too. My ele uses that.

For the head (because awesome Sylvari):

Purp and yellow (iris and lemon shades most of the time, depending on the exact armor).

An example of these colours in use — not the best, but it’s the only screenie I have since switching things up. Unfortunately, my focus was on the dancing kodan and not my character. xD;

This is my Guardian. At the moment I’m going with Celestial and I think the blue one was River Dye. Just suits her the best! :P

To OP: My dye set is using Pumkin Pie, Mahogany, Hazel, Apricot, and Umber (Umber only as the main glove color).

I’ve noticed that dye behavior can be a bit weird depending on material. On cloth it’s very vibrant, leather it varies, but usually flat, and on metals there are specular highlights. On fur your color choices can’t be trusted at all, for example on fur, Deep Maple looks like an olive green instead of the typical dark reddish-brown.

But here’s my guy:

I often change the colours though.

I recently changed mine, i saw the below pic on the Lost Shores page and liked it.

From some trial and error i went with: Sky (main armor color), White gold (edging) and Mithril (fabric/highlight parts).

Those are the 2 best screenshots I’ve seen from GW2, they just scream EPIC in a “realistic” i.e. non-wow non-anime way.
The style of the armor coupled with the single color silver dye is just stunning.

I call this the poisonous frog – Midnight Ice and Lemonade, with Fog as the face grill.

All of the plated parts are just Gold, other then the helm which shows up as a darker gold then rest if the same gold was used, so I used Buttercream for the helm gold. The chain parts under the plates are all Abyss.
