I fell in love with my guardian again!!!
This is essentially the list of why I like my guard so much as well. If your first character is a guardian (mine was) you can’t appreciate them as a profession until you’ve played some others for a bit.
Welcome back to the fold, why didn’t you bring cookies?
And ofcourse the nerf troll’s show up…
But that aside welcome back to the world of the guardian. Happy you have found that infact we are not a class to be benched like myself and other have known all along.
what ever it is, I hope it’s a skill you depend on so you’ll be forced to think outside the box
The guardian force the player to think and adapt to the situation in my opinion it is the only versatile class in the game, i tried a war, a ranger and thief all of them felt a bit boring to me, while i played my guardian for about 400 hours and i cant get enough of it.
Also another reason that I love my guardian again lately is I recently found out that different weapons are better for group play versus solo play. I was not a big fan of the hammer because I thought I’m fighting melee, why do I want to use “banish(4)” ever, but in a group? It is fun to CC mobs! When soloing I usually use the scepter/GS

Yeah! This is why I love GW2 so much, that versatility to do whatever regardless of class….
Now that’s what I’d call Renewed Focus OP !!! ;DDDD
All of your interest for the Guardian got recharged! Woo!
And love is a Virtue.
I wish I would have started as another profession. This is what happened to me:
-Started as Guardian, got to 80.
-Tried EVERY other profession
-Hated them all because Guardian was so much better in every way.
-Deleted all the characters, only play Guardian..
I love Guardian too, but I like all professions.
This is what happens to most players:
- Start with Guardian
- Try another Profession,
- Plays said Profession like a Guardian
- Doesn’t work
- Thinks said Profession sucks
- Goes back to Guardian
Each profession plays differently, and takes a slightly different mentality.
I stop playing my Guardian sometimes when I get annoyed with the slow DPS (it’s my own fault for not speccing/gearing for better DPS). I go play my Thief instead (whom I don’t play like a Guardian).
I think “this is awesome!” for a while, and then I make 1-2 mistakes and die, or I get too many conditions, or a Guardian shows up and buffs the snot out of me without even trying and it’s like, “I want to do that!” I always come back to the Guardian…feels like facetanking in comparison.
Going 20 in Radiance and Virtues, while running all Rune of Soldier means conditions will never stick on you. I was hesitant to switch from my 0/20/0/30/20 build to a 0/15/30/20/5 one because I so enjoyed my easy clears of conditions. Soldier Runes have helped immensely, but I still miss laughing off all the conditions I would draw from Save Yourself!.
I love using savbe yourselves to draw conditions from nearby allies,
to me. Then use contemplation of purity to make them into boons.
Haha. It’s like throwing out the trash.
