Does anyone know if the 33% damage reduction from the Protection boon applies to condition damage?

I guess along the same vein, are elemental type attacks considered to be the same as other non-condition types of damage (i.e. would elementalist attacks be mitigated by the target’s defense and/or the protection boon?)

To the first part no, it’s only direct damage.

There are no elemental attacks or resistances in the game.

Condition isn’t mitigated by armor.
Everything else (except falling damage) is.
