Tips/Classes/Builds/Whatever on Beating Bunkers
Personally, I’ve noted it’s very very hard to beat a bunker in anything but Xv1
I’ve found however that crit ele’s with alot of defense, a really good warrior and a power-based minion master (necro) can beat them (semi)consistently in 1v1
but once they get help it becomes overly hard
[Even for example in 3(you) vs. 2(them)]
and you’re best just focusing on their allies and trying to get a numbers advantage
[In previously stated example take out his help and then 3v1 him]
If you’re up against 5 guardians… just quit because they’re obviously just abusing a broken class and don’t deserve the extra glory from fighting you….
also block them cuz they’re kittens anyway so why bother ever dealing with them
The previously mentioned classes as I use them are:
Ele:
30 Air/30 Water/10 Arcane (scepter/focus)
Warrior:
10 Strength/20Arms/ 10 Tactics/30 Discipline (Gs | Axe/Shield)
Necro: (minion master)
30 Spite/20 Death/20 Blood (Dagger/Warhorn | Axe/Focus)
I play everything except guardians (because they’re obviously OP) and Engineer’s (because I just don’t like the style)

Necro can tear bunkers apart. Well of Corruption, corrupt boon = much hurt for the guardian or ele Bunker.

Condition damage works pretty well against a lot of bunker builds (not all).
Another thing you should keep in mind is to stay at range if you can. Unless they’re using a Scepter, they’ll be pretty useless.
And if you’re using a burst build, save your burst for after the Guardian’s heal.
Edit: And most importantly, I want to thank you for coming to ask how to beat us, instead of just whining about how strong we are.
Condition damage ignores toughness and even if it is easily purged, we only have ONE total purge (Contemplation of Purity) and ONE three-condition-purge. The rest of our purges is on “every 20 seconds” so if you time your condition well (apply, wit purge, apply, wait purge, etc.) you will erode our health.
Dome is on a long CD, and you can always put an AoE to hurt us and make us leave the dome (if Sanctuary) or canceling it (if shield skill).
In general, AoE Condition Damage is the best against bunker guardians (that’s why Necros easily trash us). Knockdown and Daze works wonders too (Mesmer is another good class against bunkers).

First off, if you build for simple straight-forward damage, you deserve to be beaten by simple straight-forward defense.
Onto the discussion: Bunker is a build that doesn’t do that much damage, and depends on boons.
A list of effective tools against Bunker:
- Poison (do damage and lower their healing)
- Chill (makes their skill cycle harder to perform)
- Interrupt (Heal)
- Remove Boon
- Convert Boons to Conditions (check-mate)

I disagree on the statement on how a defensive build should beat the offensive build each time. I think it should be a draw based on mistakes and interrupts. It should come down to the better player and class characteristics. It can’t be Guardian > All other classes too.
My suggestion? Bring a friend and what Nurvus said.

bunkers lack mobility, even if they try burst you down, they cannot, they lack damage also
so haras them with area of efect skills and keep an small range (ground targeting skills ignore retailation as far as i know ) keep your hp up and don’t try to burst them down.
