[Guide]The Chaos Maestro (Support Builds)
Alternatively, you could shuffle 10 points from Inspiration into Chaos so you can grab both Bountiful and Chaotic Dampening as well as add to your boon duration (and the passive trait: Toughness = Condition dmg)
You’d be losing that flexible trait slot in Inspiration though, but I think its worth the sacrifice.

Great idea, that also ups my condition damage by about 100.
Then the condi-cleansing mantra becomes mandatory (or iDisenchanter), being the only source of condition removal. I noticed you didn’t have warden’s feedback traited originally, but the option for that pretty much goes away, too (I would consider restorative mantras mandatory).
Idk. I’ve honestly never needed any condition cleanse besides my Warden combo in most cases (PvE-wise. WvW and sPvP totally different story) and TooBz could always swap it in over Blink when the situations call for it. (or Menders Purity over Vigorous Revelations)

Ah, guess I didn’t see where he was going to be using it. I just assumed some dungeons and WvW. If WvW at all, yeah he needs some condi-cleanse. If just PvE dungeons, I generally agree. You usually don’t have much problem and other classes can help there.

(edited by Chaos Archangel.5071)
I’ve been getting a few PMs asking what gear I’m currently running:
Ascended Cleric’s: Amulet/Rings (Rare magis trinkets for everything else)
Exotic Cleric’s: boots/shoulders
Exotic Magi’s: Helm
Exotic Berzerker’s: Chest/Legs/Arms
Exotic Cleric’s Staff / Zerker Sword-Focus
I jump between Berzerker’s and Magi’s depending on whether or not I’m soloing or in a group. Sometimes I’ll go full Healing Power, but it really depends on the content. Superior Sigil of Life at 25 stacks allows me to wear some zerker gear and still maintain 3k heals and around 340 Regen (depending on if I’m wielding staff or not). Sometimes I’ll start off in Cleric’s gear and then swap to Zerkers once my Sigil picks up enough stacks or I’ll get heal-happy and simply stick with cleric’s all the way.
I.. actually don’t like wielding Zerker sword and Cleric’s staff. It’s a difficult juggling act to switch to staff for when I wanna heal and sword for damage but it does pay off. Eventually I think I’ll grab Magi’s sword/Focus and Cleric’s Staff.
One thing I’ve noticed that I hadn’t payed much attention to in the past is how the build grows more powerful when there’s more enemies to face. I’ve been running tests in the queens gauntlet, throwing myself against as many veteran mobs as I can (Gawd, so much fun!) to test how well I survive, and Swiftness/Vigor/Veil/PU/Mantra Heals get me through some incredibly deadly situations. I’ll be constantly sitting on 25x stacks of might, summoning my warden and popping signet & chaos storm on him for some hefty extra damage, and hitting surprisingly hard with MoPain (2k with both charges popped.)
Honestly, the build feels so strong sometimes that I rarely feel much need to switch things up. The main weakness is fighting 1v1 against bosses or players since the chance to interrupt is much less likely. Also, I miss Chaotic Dampening dearly, but Bountiful Interruption and Prismatic Understanding are far too good to pass up. I’m going to be doing testing in Fractals soon, to see how it fairs in higher levels. I expect I’ll be dropping mantra heals altogether in favor of Glamours, but we’ll see.
An interesting thing I’ve noted is that at 1400+ healing power, Regeneration and Mantra heals work beautifully with Thieves/Eles/Guardians that fully understand how you work. A standard MoPain/Recovery chain can restore half a thief’s life, which works great under the safety of Veil.
If anyone’s been having some interesting experiences with the build, I’d love to hear about it.

Don’t worry about feeling like you’re copying, we’re all here to inspire and advise eachother. The guide I put up is more a template on forging a support build (with a few examples) anyways.
I don’t know the exact numbers, but I’m pretty sure 2x Sigils of battle (One for sword, one for staff for 6 stacks of might/210 power) will give you a better damage output than the Sigil of force and allow you to share the extra damage with Signet.
Those water runes though? Hnnngg.. I wanna like them, I really do, especially in conjunction with the water sigil for some nice potential healing (5k in 3 secs with Regen and mantras) but with it being bugged, Runes of Dwayna/Altruism are superior.
I don’t think glamours lasting longer will make much difference for you, as you’ll still only be able to bag 6 seconds of stealth with Veil+ PU regardless (Gotta test that), good for groups though. I’d consider grabbing Medic’s Feedback for WvW too, that way you’ll be able to bring up Feedback domes frequently and have another ethereal field to combo for Chaos Storm. You don’t have to sit through the entire rezz, just interact with the downed NPC/player for a second to bring the dome up.
Also, I’ve recently found Debilitating Dissipation to be pretty useful in smaller fights. The chance to inflict AoE weakness adds some nice damage mitigation.
All in all, nice setup.

8/29/13 Update – Changed the website used to show the build. I really like this new site, and thanks to Phloww / defektive to putting me on.
Also, I must stress an increased importance on taking Debilitating Dissipation. The potential AoE Weakness makes for awesome damage mitigation. Its a bit RNG, but worth it when it procs. Will add a write-up on it when I get the chance.
Now that I think about it: Prismatic Understanding / Debilitating Dissipation / Bountiful Interrution / Chaos Storm … there’s a lot of RNG going on in this build.

Makes sense. Your only other choices were dampening or manipulation. Fall damage is situational. On down or rez as well. Clones probably don’t stay too alive but without Illusion traits you have lots of time between available shatters that something is going to die.
Currently testing: Shatter Maestro
Sword/Focus – Sword/Sword (or Staff) 0/20/0/20/30 / Full Berzerker
Superior Runes of Altruism w/Omnomberry cremes w/ 2x Superior Sigils of Battle 1x Energy
Dueling: IV, X – Inspiration: III, VIII – Illusions: III, VI, XI
Utilities testing: Signet of Inspiration/Midnight, Blink or Decoy, Null Field or Feedback, Portal, Mantra of Pain/Resolve, Mirror Images.
SUPPORT
Might - Shatters/Swapping/Altruism = Perma 9+
Vigor - Shatters/Crits – Perma
Swiftness - Focus 4 – More often than not (14 sec estimated every 20 secs)
Retaliation - LEAP-Comboing off Temporal Curtain
Fury -Altruism runes – 6 secs every 15 seconds
Regeneration - Phantasms, rather lousy Regen numbers though.
DAMAGE
- Mind Wrack
- Blurred Frenzy
-Riposte
-Phantasms
CONTROL
-Reflects
-Dazes
-Curtain Pull
A more Shatter/DPS-oriented work in progress while still maintaining heavy support. Likely sticking with Signet of Inspiration. If any of the [OMFG] Testers wanna mess around with this, please go right ahead.

(edited by Chaos Archangel.5071)
A couple things..
- I’ve noticed the build shines mainly in WvW, so I added that in the title. With my computer being fixed and new programs being installed, will have personal vids up soon enough.
With the new AoE specs to Mantras, seriously considering working on a Mantra support build. Here’s my thoughts. (Pulled from Fay’s Theorycrafting Thread )
- MoConcentration - What people underestimate is that this ability can be chained together. With 50% boon duration, you’re looking at 3 seconds of stability per charge. With Harmonious/Cooldown Mantras that means we’re putting out 9 seconds of stability every 20 seconds which means that our group will have stability nearly 50% of the time .
- MoResolve - With the same two traits, Mantra of Resolve becomes our best condition removal next to Null Field.
So taking that into account, I came up with this.. Apothecary’s, Rabid, Berserker’s, or Rampager’s depending on whether damage or healing is a priority.. Still not sure if Condition damage is the best choice here.
30/20/0/20/0
Sword (or Scepter)/Torch – Staff
DOMINATION
(V) – Support and control go hand-in-hand. Having our clones do AoE cripple on death is a huge help vs cleaves and for allies trying to escape.
(IX) -Torch will be imporant for both charging mantras safely and AoE Chaos Armor
(XI) – While having more Mantra charges makes our AoE heal take longer, the stability and condition removal are higher priority anyways.
DUELING
(VI) – When charging mantras, an extra 400 toughness is more than welcome.. Especially in gear that lacks toughness/vitality.
(VII) – Mantra cooldowns, ’nuff said.
INSPIRATION
(I) – Medic’s Feedback is great for a few reasons. Its another Ethereal Field for us to combo off of, a source of damage via reflects, and of course makes rezzing easier. Great for WvW.
(X) – The main reason I take MoPain in a support build is for the rapid healing. If you’re going Zerker, MoPain is a nice 3000 damage every 6 or so secs.
Torch – Stealth for mantra charging, BLAST finisher for AoE Chaos Armor
Staff – 6 of the 9 boons in the game right here along with awesome damage mitigation and a much-needed mobility boost. Additionally, Chaos Storm dumps loads of debilitating conditions on enemies and can net anywhere from 2k – 4k damage in a zerker build.. Can Phase Retreat without interrupting Mantra charges, and Chaos Armor/Storm also helps charge safely
.
Since I’m going 30 domination and using a torch/staff, “CONDITION BUILD!!” screams out at me.. but I could see a full zerker build making good use too… I can’t say for sure yet but I’ll definitely be experimenting with the above setup.

So I started running this build with a swap of MoPain for MoResolve. I feel like I can either get cleanse on heal and just that many forms of condition removal or keep a heal on mantra charge just to get a third heal out of my MoRecovery, since I lose the MoPain spam. Is the spam for mantras low enough to switch it out?

Yeah. Without Mantra of Pain I rarely use Restorative Mantras, and Mender’s Purity already works really well with MoRecovery.
The only thing, though, is that without Restorative Mantras you also have a lot of other options opened up to you. Those 10 points could go into Dueling (Deceptive Evasion synergizes well with Debilitating Dissipation, Sword cooldowns, Mantra cooldowns, ect.) or Domination (Signet Cooldowns, Illusion Damage or Crippling Dissipation)
Play around and see what ya like, you may not even need that much condition removal, especially in PvE.

Mesmer Personality Quiz! Exclamation Points!
Hey there!
I have been running a sort of Prismatic Maestro build for a while (talking about PVE here, dungeons and open world), mostly because 20/20/30/0/0 matches my playstyle and I feel that it is versatile, etc. Lately I have been wondering how best to optimize my character for a balance between boon support/power DD. I am not so concerned with condition damage as I am about building/keeping boons up and then bursting on things with sw/t. I haven’t really started dungeons yet, and I know that however successful I am in open world doesn’t cross over into how successful I will be there xP
I am pretty well geared up – mostly zerker and some snowflake/winter trinkets for a little survivability/boon duration boost. Basically, does this sound good for a damage/support dungeon build? And, if not, what sort of gear would make for a better balance? Also, I am still trying to get the hang of boon storming… do you have any tips for PU/staff/torch boon storms and strategies instead of focus/chaos maestro ones? Or, since I am going more for power than strict support, should I use something else instead of the staff?
Thanks!
Hey. Replying from cellphone so forgive typos.
The Chaid Maestro builds were designed with dungeons in mind but ended up being much more effective in WvW. The thing about dungeons is that after you run the same dungeon a couple times everything starts to become a matter or memory rather than skill. Boons are effective but the most important ones end up often being Might, Fury, and Vigor. (Altruism Runes/Vigorous Revelation – Inspiration III).
Running Sword/Torch – Staff will run you into one major problem: Damage. In most fights your damage will often come from your Phantasms. Focus is good here because it both reflects projectiles when traited (the stickied guide has a list of where/when to reflrct in dungeons) and Temporal Curtain allows you to pull groups into clusters against walls to make it significantly easier for your team to kill them all. Warden hits in an AoE aswell and having two up can allow you to set up a permenant rrflrctive barrier in some cases. Since Staff phantasm can do massive chunks of damage (+10% for each condition on the enemy) to a single target it can also shine in boss battles depending on team composition.
The reason why damage is so important, even if your focus is support, is because the faster the mobs die the less stress on you keeping everyone alive. With Sword/torch – staff your only damage comes from iWarlock and sword auto-attack. Blurred Frenzy should be saved for defense and Chaos Storm is better cast on allies engaged in melee.
As for gear, Id say grab full Zerkers. Runes of Altruism, 30 Chaos, and Chocolate Omnomberry Cremes have been just enough boon duration for healthy boons in my experience (65% boon duration). The most ideal weaponset is Sword+either Focus,Sword, or Pistol as long as sword is in both sets but personally Ive had plenty smooth runes with Sword/Focus – Staff. If your team isn’t made of a bunch of dooshes they shouldnt really care what youre running as long as you’re obviously contributing to the team. (To be continued…)

(Ah much better, a frickin’ CPU)
In regards to the Sword/torch – Staff setup, what makes it stand out is your ability to provide AoE Chaos Armor though this comes at the cost of much lower durations of Swiftness and Retaliation without the Focus’s Temporal Curtain. At 20/20/30 you’re losing out on Vigorous Revelations, so the AoE Vigor you could provide is also lacking. Instead, the boonstorm would look something like this…
(Charge Mantra beforehand if using MoRecovery)
Prestige -> Heal -> Chaos Storm -> iWarlock
- Try to time Chaos Storm so you don’t accidentally Reveal yourself during Prestige
- What utilities you’re running alters that setup.
(Edit: Forgot you’re not traited into Inspiration.. so Phantasms won’t give Regen, only Chaos Armor/Stealth will)
This should give you and allies Regeneration / 6x Might / Fury / Protection / Retaliation / Swiftness every time you pop Signet of Inspiration. Again, make sure allies know to cluster inside of Chaos Storm to get the most from your boons, and do your best to cast it on them and yourself.
Good luck, and if ya have any more questions feel free. Here’s the link to the dungeon session explaining dungeons and reflects

(edited by Chaos Archangel.5071)
Thanks for all the tips =]
And I have been switching between this and full phantasm zerker/focus sort of build, but a PU based playstyle is so much more fun to me. I guess the thing for me to consider, especially from what you’ve been saying, is that using a Sw/T-Staff is not going to be as great support as the Chaos Maestro and not outstanding damage either. But I wonder if this is still a viable in between/hybrid role to sufficiently contribute to the team?
It’s not that the support isn’t as good, it’s that the focus of the support is different. A PU focused build will give unparalleled amounts of the Protection boon, which is always good, but it’s at the cost of some of the other boons. In fact, a PU-focused build just takes away some of the direct boon control and makes it a bit more random: It’s the only way to provide AoE Chaos Armor and the only way to stack huge amounts of protection but it’s up to you to decide when the defense boost is necessary.
Even then, you’re still offering a lot to the team. The torch’s BLAST finisher works with any combo field, and your ability to compound boons granted from allies means that your boon management will still always be superior to anyone else on the teams. The only problem with the Torch is that it’s phantasm is so ungodly bad that only one skill is actually worthwhile..
And don’t forget the elements of control you have. Prestige is an AoE blind, which in places like Tower of Nightmares could save lives. Chaos Storm combined with Chaos Armor gives ridiculous amounts of defense for the storm’s duration, so your Prestige + Storm combo has a chance to apply even MORE blindness in addition to the boons it grants.
You just have to be a bit more clever/creative, but you’re still very supportive. The problem with Sw/T – Staff is moreso in the damage, which’ll be pretty lousy compared to any other weaponset. However, I’ve never explored a hybrid option. Condition damage is often frowned upon in dungeons but if you have a build idea that hasn’t been tried yet, don’t let anyones preconceptions stop you from exploring! I’d probably consider a Rampager’s set.
And for open world, go crazy. Long as you’re skillful you can make anything work.

Mmkay, I will stick with this and see what I can manage =] thanks for being so helpful! I have so much to learn though haha.
Also consider that in a lot of the teams will be classes with far easier access to blast finishers so using torch would be redundant.
I know this is super late, but I started using your chaos maestro build not too long ago and I had a question about the heals provided by the mantras. While using the Restorative Mantras trait, when is it that the heals show up for my allies? Is it right after I finish channeling the mantra or is it right when I cast the mantra? Basically: channel mantra-party gets heals or use the mantra-party gets heals.

It’s after the channel, just like it says on the wiki, and just like you were told in the thread you just made.
Just a quick update. Though the guide needs to be edited to reflect the last few patches, the build still works well. Here’s what I’m currently running:
0/5/30/20/15
Blink – Portal (Situational) – Signet of Inspiration
Chaos: III, VIII, X / Inspiration: V (or II), VIII / Illusions: VI
Zerker Gear (or mixed Knights/Cav) – Altruism Runes – Chocolate Omnomberry Cream
This setup was custom-made for myself and designed in a way that I could grab nearly everything I love about the Mesmer class all in one sweep while still being effective:
- Staff cooldowns (Dat Phase Dash)
- Focus cooldowns
- Boon Support
- Teleports
- Portal (The skill that sold me on the Mesmer on the first place)
BOON SUPPORT
The “Maestro”-themed builds are usually meant to provide the greatest amount of Mesmer boon support possible, and the current setup is no different. The Boon Storm is performed pretty much the same way here, except with less emphasis on shattering, thus less uptimes of Vigor. With the buffed MoConcentration, you can quite literally provide any boon you want whenever you want in this build and I’ll occasionally swap portal for this.
CONTROL
Spending half of this year focusing on lockdown builds has taught me a lot about Mesmer gameplay in general, and has improved my skill as a player overall. When you use staff, Focus, and your [F3] shatters properly, you can pump out a pretty hefty amount of control, even against multiple targets. This goes hand-in-hand with support, as keeping your opponents off balance and having a hard time attacking/defending. Aoe Chaos Armor’s portential to blind is great, especially since it also can offer protection. Interrupting with Focus and F3 rewards you with frustrated opponents and boons. Combining this build’s exceptional support with it’s ability to control enemies will compensate for the somewhat-lackluster damage.
DAMAGE
Nearly all of the Chaos Maestro builds are played Phantasm-style. Unfortunately, both staff and focus offer difficult-to-use phantasms. Both iWarden and iWarlock, as well as their respective weapons, gain effectiveness the closer you are to your opponent. This build is meant to be played at mid-range, close enough to share boons with allies from all distances and still pump out damage via Warden, Warlock, and sword.

I like the update to this build, but what does Illusions VI (Dazzling Glamours) do for this setup?
Which heal skill to you recommend running with this version of the Maestro? Do the Might stacks from your Altruism Runes help much, or are they just kinda gravy on top of the sweet Boon Duration?
I’m also curious as to how this build handles Conditions, since they seem to be pretty popular within the current meta game. (Potentially swap to Inspiration IV?)

Ah, gotcha. I’m also curious as to which heal skill you’d recommend, given the new signet we have access to now.
Are conditions difficult to deal with while using the build? I feel like conditions are pretty popular within the meta game right now and am curious if it would work to swap in Inspiration IV for condition removal coverage.
I always use Mantra of Recovery, and yeah Mender’s Purity is definitely a viable alternative, especially with the Mantra. Signet of the Ether and EtherFeast wouldn’t work out as well because of the Runes of Altruism. I make a lot of use of the instant heals to instantly proc Fury in the middle of rotations, buffing allies, or right after I summon iWarden.

Yes, I was even wondering how this build could work now with the changes to the traits and with the new healing skill. I have based my build on this one although not doing exactly as it was told. I’m taking advantage of my runes as all my armor already had Runes of Lyssa (6 runes in total so it gives me all boons when using Elite) so I use Mass Invisibility along with Signet of Inspiration to pass them to allies. My traits was set as said in here but now I’m unsure if I should change it due the latest changes.
Sometimes I feel I’m missing something as there is moments I feel I’m not giving properly support. I also use Illusion of Life when doing group events so I can quickly revive downed allies when they are hard to reach. I can’t recall why I don’t use Veil but I do use Phantasmal Disenchanter, then I have one more clone and it removes boons from mobs.
I still have not understood what Signet of Illusions would be used for, so I use other skil in that slot.
Does someone have some suggestion about how this build would work with the new changes to traits? Also, am I doing some mistake here?
Conveniently none of the patches have really impacted this build much since it’s conception. Everything still mostly works the same, though now there are some new interesting options.
From what I gather you run with: Lyssa Runes, Mass Invis, Signet of Inspiration, Illusion of Life, iDisenchanter
Lyssa Runes are a perfectly fine alternative, boons on heal as well as the elite can work out exceptionally well so I wouldn’t worry much about that.
Is this for PvP, PvE, or WvW? And what types of support are you trying to bring? Heals, Boons, and Utility Support (Reflects, Illusion of Life, Portal, ect.) are all good options but trying to trait for too much at once will leave you spread too thin. Which traits are you currently running? (0/10/30/30/0?)

Mesmer Personality Quiz! Exclamation Points!
Yes, I see it’s still working as before. I just was wondering if it would need some kind of tweaking after the changes to the traits.
Before I tried to use this build I already had all my set with Runes of Lyssa, so I didn’t want to waste it and get a new set. Luckily it has been working nicely along with elite and Signet of Inspiration, plus the effect from Chocoloate Omnoberry Cream that extends the boons duration.
In fact, I’m more into PvE and I haven’t tried PvP and WvW yet, so I’m using it more for PvE yes. Also, I’m not that good when it comes to melee and I get easy overwhelmed in a crowded fight, so I usually stay ranged and giving some support. I could say I try to bring support by trying to keep them alive (so using Illusion of Life) and giving them some strength. I like teamwork and help as I can.
Sorry for forgetting to mention my traits, I’m using 0/10/30/30/0 with Dueling II, Chaos V, VIII and X, Inspiration III, VIII, XI. And yes, I know that trait all at once couldn’t work.
Also, could someone give me some clue about what Signet of Illusions stands for in this? I couldn’t figure out when to use it and what’s its role in this build.
(edited by shadow.6174)
Talking about boon duration… I see that one of the points in this build is increasing boon duration (otherwise would be useless to give only 1 sec of boon to allies per example) and I have made a quick test recently. My hero panel says I have 56% of boon duration, about 4% comes from Doubloons, 20% from Chocolate Omnoberry Cream and the rest I can’t recall where. I made a quick test by trigger a elite skill as my Runes of Lyssa would give me all boons. The Rune says the boon would last 5 sec and it was exactly what happened, they lasted 5 secs or less. I also tried to cast Chaos Storm on myself as it could give me some boons too, the boons lasted exactly as the skill’s hint stated. Also, I’m using Signet of Inspiration and I noted that each random boon given from it has lasted exactly the time stated in the skill’s hint. The question is: if a boon should last 5 secs, 50% of it would be like plus 2.5 secs that gives me 7.5 secs.. but I don’t see it happening. I wonder where that increase is going to. I can’t realize it having these 56% more of boon duration.
Tooltips update with boon duration.

Ah yes, I have confirmed that. However, Runes of Lyssa says it will give all boons for 5 secs and it doesn’t seem be affected by any boon duration booster, it always last 5 secs.
I tried it out for a bit and I think you’re definitely right, since I usually use Altruism I never noticed that before.
Its not too bad though, you just gotta make sure to pop Lyssa runes as the last part of your Inspitation-rotation.

Well and here I am fully invested in Cleric’s and Magi gear already.
I went with 10/10/20/30/0 cause that 20% signet redux sounded nice. Mantra heals make use of the +healing I have. But the roaming ability is pretty kitten without the crit damage from a zerker set. And I guess more utility other than aiming to spam boons every 36 seconds is more useful.
The thing is that you have to adapt to different situations.
I’m not gonna run Clerics/Magis if I’m solo roaming, but I will in a group assuming they know what I do. As for the boonsharing it should be a constant thing throughout the fight due to temporal curtain (swiftness), chaos storm (retal/Aegis), phantasms (Regen), heal (Might/Fury), shatters (vigor) not including the burst of boons coming every halfminute or so. Even then, you’re still expected to CC, still reflect (or condi-cleanse), still AoE heal, ect.
It’s the blending of these things that makes you valuable.

Yea… I just don’t want to buy more gear just to stick Altruism runs in. And that I stuck Kasmeer’s staff on my healing one. Thankfully runes are cheap as heck, and I had some old SF gear I could swap for more damage. Or just go with healing armor and damage weapons/signets.
So.. traits were changed and runes nerfed with the brand new feature patch.. By chance would these changes affect big things in this build?
I know that now I have to recheck each of line of traits to select the proper item again (I believe some of them had their number changed) and I will need to see how my current runes will works now. I had a whole set of Runes of Lyssa and I was used to get the last tier of its boon (all boons when using Elite skill) that’s now nerfed.
I’m not so used with this things about builds and such then I got a bit lost with the changes. Also, I wonder if my Runes of Lyssa would be still useful in this build or if I would need to look for another set.
Btw, when they announced changes to the runes a few weeks ago, the market price for a Rune of Lyssa raised from around 2 g to 4 g in a matter of days. When the feature patch came out the price dropped vertiginously to less than 1 g in a matter of hours (3 hours after patch came out it was around 90 s). That’s why I wonder if they have became crap or if I still can use them. (Curiously I had an 2 g order placed for 1 of it for weeks waiting for the price go down. So soon I logged on after the patch my order had been accepted. :P)
Summarizing: what’s going to happen with this build after the changes?
I’m going to have to dig in and really check out all the changes. Trait-wise the build is still fine, if anything the new Chaos Grandmaster may open up some new variants.
Rune-wise there are some interesting new options, but I still feel Altruism serves best.
Lyssa Runes are kind of a dud now, and not very reliable for the build. They’re still excellent condition removal, but not so great for boonsharing.
Will have a more thorough update soon!

I like the option of the new grandmaster trait for at least over bountiful interruption for non interruptible situations and for a reason to use class abilites again
Ok, even though this thread is kind of dead I wanted to bring it back as I still use this build. I’m not so into experimenting with builds so I wanted some help on this. By chance have anyone already tried to update this build to the new system (core specializations and stuff)? Or does anyone have some suggestion about how to make it with the new system?

I’ve been trying to figure out if a good Boon Storm build still exists. Or at least, a build that can spray out a pile of boons to all nearby allies. I’m not sure if it’s actually good, but it does feel pretty rad so far. I’m considering making a thread for it, but until then, here’s my current traits. Bolded are the ones that are core to the idea of the build.
Specializations
Chaos – Master of Manipulation, Chaotic Dampening, Bountiful Disillusionment
Inspiration – Medic’s Feedback, Restorative Illusions, Illusionary Inspiration
Illusions – Persistence of Memory, Shattered Strength, Malicious Sorcery / Master of Fragmentation
or Domination – Rending Shatter, Blurred Inscriptions, Mental Anguish
Utilities
Signet of Illusions, Signet of Inspiration, Mimic / Blink (Mimic if you want extra, Blink if you want safety)
Right now I’m using staff / scepter. The major rule is that you have to hold your phantasms in reserve to control when Illusionary Inspiration goes off the first time you boonstorm. After that, burn all your shatters (Lead with Distortion), Signet of Illusions, at least Mind Wrack + Cry of Frustration (Diversion and Distortion can be important to save), then summon a phantasm (slightly more regen) and use Signet of Inspiration.
I’m not sure yet if Mimic is better used on Signet of Inspiration or on Signet of Illusions. Mostly I think it depends on if allies are giving you valuable boons as well.
It ends up spreading a lot of fury, vigor, regen, and something like 15 stacks of might with over 15s of duration. There’s a lot of room for improvement, but it’s where I’m starting.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
