For newcommers, regarding new trait system (aviable before HoT) :
- You can choose only 1 out of 3 default traits per tier
- You can choose only 3 trait lines per build
- You are able to put 18/18 points into a build (6 points per trait line)

Mesmer related changes so far :
- Quickness is a boon
- Every skill gets classified

After what they’ve done to Elementalists, thieves and guardians (all good stuff), let’s get our hopes high and our hype big.

Our damage be mighty and our interrupts be deadly.

• Mesmer back in GW1 was a very high skill based class, we are trying to bring that back.
• Chaos Armor will be added to one of the Trident skills
• The stealth duration increase on Prismatic Understanding from Chaos line is only on Mesmer stealth skills, not on stealth applied on the Mesmer by other classes.
• Glamour all had their recharge rate reduced as a baseline
• Traits that are made baseline: Illusionary Persona, Illusionary Elasticity, Protective Mantras (gain extra armor when you cast a mantra), Phantasmal damage boost traits,Manipulation range.
• Alot of the retaliation traits in Mesmer got removed as we didn’t feel like you want people to hit you as a mesmer.

Happening less than 5 minutes from now, DON’T MISS IT! and take notes

Increased Damage to enemies that are vulnerable … great with shatters, swords, staff, and greatsword … all inflict invuln.

alternatively, they’ll just make DE a grandmaster…

Also good news for your Boonsharing: Signet of Inspiration on Phantasm summon, I think I heard.

So far I’m quite impressed with the overall rework. I almost peed my pants when I saw Chaotic Interruption. I’m definitely going 6/6/6 with PB, Mistrust (screw you, DE, Chaos Storm Mistrust will be awesome) and CI. And of course… baseline IP.

I also like how Duelling should open up hybrid builds for Mesmers.

What I didn’t enjoy… Illusionary Defense/Celerity. Really? You kept those utterly boring and uninspired traits? Biggest let down probably is with the new Glamour Grandmaster. Superspeed is not worth the slot and nobody picked Temporal Enchanter back when it was a Master trait. They really have to look at this one.

The condition shatter options confuse me a bit, too. They are all over the place. You could get blind on shatter and run with confusion on blind. So why the Master of Shatter or whatever the combination of the current Adept traits is called. Redundancy.

On a different note: The way the emphasized how Glamours are defense skills I’m now even more concerned that Mesmers might indeed get trap utilities with their specialization.

Shatter stealth CD damage is the way to go. But it seems they are still very unsure with some of our traits.

Did they ever mention why the confusion damage was low on certain skills?
And could someone who had better internet than I explain how duelist discipline is supposed to work now? I think they said skills recharge on hit by a percentage.

What’s Mistrust?

Illusionary Defense and Compounding Power still exists… Why don’t just combine them (and maybe adjust the value slightly).

I didn’t notice it at first, but was the Master of Shatter (which if I recall adds the confusion and might shatter traits into one) now on the same tier as Maim?

Yes… it is
But it is an area effect.

Pop Chaos Storm, MoD and Sword OH… Mwuahaha.

Additionally, Confusion will quite obviously change to work like Torment, just in a bursty way. We might even be able to play celestial interrupt while dealing reasonable damage.

That’s fine. I may be taking that along with my lockdown. But without needing to go to IP Chaotic Interruption is the next best pvp grandmaster.

Unless the Chrono tree has some crazy awesome stuff (which may still relate to lockdown)

Yeah this was the argument I was trying to make in my other thread. There are just so many possibilities with IP baseline, much like DE of course. Either way we obviously have a huge win here.
