Weapon Abilities

Greatsword:

  1. “Illusionary Wave” – Cone emanates in the direction the character body is facing, not the direction the head/camera is facing.

Staff:

  1. “Chaos Storm” – Daze from this ability will not apply vulnerability in combination with the Dazzling trait or Stun from Confounding Suggestions..

Scepter:

  1. “Ether Clone” (Scepter 1) is not causing confusion as the tooltip says it will.

Sword (Main Hand):

  • None Reported

Sword (Off-Hand):

  • “Counter Blade” – Daze from this ability will not apply vulnerability in combination with the Dazzling trait or Stun from Confounding Suggestions.

Torch:

  1. “The Prestige” – No longer acting like a blast finisher. Stealth is still failing for no reason.
  2. “Phantasmal Mage” – Does not benefit from Master of Misdirection or Illusionary Elasticity.

Focus:

  1. “Temporal Curtain” – This was changed so that it could not stack with itself by players running back and forth through the wall. However it no longer stacks with any Swiftness Boon in duration like the boon itself suggests it should. Spell does not reflect arcing attacks or attacks from a different z-axis position.
  2. “Phantasmal Warden” – Not running to melee range of the target between attacks.

Pistol:

  1. “Phantasmal Duelist” – Runs up to 600 range even though it has a 1200+ range.

Trident:

  1. “Illusions of Drowning” – Causes the target to reflect friendly ranged attacks.
  2. “Siren’s Call” – Clones are causing confusion on hit and not boons on allies.
  3. Trident Clones do not have weapons (Should have a copy of the trident you’re using.)

Spear:

  1. “Stab → Jab → Evasive Strike” – 100% Miss chance even when on top of an enemy target.

Class Abilities

  • None Reported

Utility:

  1. “Signet of Illusions” illusions initially summon with normal health.
  2. “Null Field” is still not lasting its intended duration and most certainly is not “ripping ALL boons from foes” as indicated on tooltip. Post Patch it doesn’t even remove all conditions on the caster. It may remove 3 or so and then stops working.
  3. “Blink” – Will often teleport you and then instantly teleport you back from where you started.
  4. “Veil” – Only stealthing you for 2 seconds instead of the 4 listed on the tooltip.

Elite:

Downed:

  • None Reported

Shatter:

  • None Reported

Traits

Dueling:

  1. “Deceptive Evasion” – Not producing a clone while morphed or while out of combat even when enemy is in range and targeted.
  2. “Confusing Combatants” is not proccing on Phantasm death.
  3. “Deceptive Evasion” clones target nearest enemy instead of casters target.
  4. “Sharper Image” – Bleeding caused by this trait causes zero damage when the illusion dies.

Chaos:

  1. “Chaotic Dampening” – There is a bug that causes the bleed duration of “Winds of Chaos” to get reduced by 20% from original 7s down to 5s.

Inspiration:

  1. “Temporal Enchanter” is either bugged or the tooltips is incorrect in regards to Glamour duration.

Illusions:

  1. “Masterful Reflection” does not proc off of the trait “Blurred Inscriptions”.
  2. “Master of Misdirection” does not affect Confusion from Confusing Combatants or Illusion-inflicted Confusion, like from iMage.
  3. “Illusionary Elasticity” does not provide an additional bounce to clone attacks that bounce … such as iMage.

General Bugs

  1. Clone images don’t show off-hand weapons even when you do have one equip on the character that created it.
  2. Ethereal Combo – proccing the original version of Chaos Armor instead of the one the Mesmer class released with.
  3. Invisibility – NOT breaking channel effects that require a target. (A bump of dirt can cause my attack to miss, but going invisible doesn’t)
  4. Distortion – Damage and various CC will often still occur during Distortion.
  5. Cone attacks will go off in the direction you were facing when you activated the ability rather than the direction you are facing when the ability finally fires.

Might have another possible bug or glitch. I have illusionists celerity, phantasmal haste and chaotic dampening in my traits, which should supposedly give my phantasms a 60% reduction in recharge but it only applied the one 20% reduction from illusionists celerity.

Staff skill #2 “phase retreat” also on occasion does not teleport you backwards, but just poofs and you stay at the same spot you activated the skill at (ie. does nothing but the shatter animation)

Not sure if intended, but:
The Mesmer’s second downed ability in PvP (cloak/clone) is rather useless, seeing that a giant red arrow remains over the real Mesmer.
Also in PvP, when creating clones while targeted by an enemy, the target remains on the real Mesmer. No trouble at all in finding the real one. It’s easy enough to destroy the illusions already, so can’t there be a little consolation in at least giving the enemy some trouble to find you?

Phase retreat (and other teleports) won’t move you if there are intervening objects. I’ve never had it fail unless there was something behind me.

However, it will teleport me below the “ground” or into a a crevice and my character cannot move from the spot. (Some times, I can get out of it reversing the process or using another teleport, but during combat, it pretty much means I’m unable to participate until I’m killed by AOE or the battle is over and I am allowed to move to a waypoint).

Illusionary Riposte (sword’s off hand) is not receiving some traits effects.
Illusionists Celerity (Illusion) changes only the tooltip recharge time, it still takes 15s to recharge. Also, Blade Training (Duelist) doesn’t change anything.
Both traits works with Phantasmal Swordsman, but Blade training doesn’t change the tooltip.

This bug is confirmed by many other players.

2. Trait – Chaotic Dampening. “+50 toughness while wielding a staff or trident. Reduces recharge of staff skills by 20%.” There is a bug that causes the bleed duration of Winds of Chaos (Staff #1 skill) to get reduced by 20% from original 7s down to 5s. Other conditions duration seems not effected but since they have much shorter duration range from 1-3 secs, it’s harder to identify if those are also effected by the reduction of 20% duration bug. The trait’s 20% reduction in staff skills does reduce all staff skill’s recharge time correctly by 20% (x 0.8) from original skill recharge time.
This bug is also confirmed by other players.

I have seen this as well. I’ve also seen the clone getting stuck on the terrain instead of leaping all the way to the target, even if the obstacle isn’t large enough to obstruct anything.

15. I can confirm this, especially the “switch” part: basically every time my target is on a higher ground (not needing a jump, just an angled terrain and tehy are above), i will NOT get to their position, where my clone spawned, but I will land some way down the slope, half the way or something. VERY annoying.

Also please add detailed description of the Boon Traits conflict, which renders Inspiration line much more useful and in general makes the traits of little use

Also, last time I checked Phantasmal Fury had it’s duration changed to 10sec down from 1h, but was supposed to re-apply every 10s. It doesn’t reapply, making this trait also pretty useless.

I wish you could just make clones no matter how far away you were from your target. The clones would just have to run up to the target, but I’m tired of my illusionary leap not generating a clone because I wasn’t touching the enemy I was targeting.

It’s any ability actually … doesn’t have to be a dodge roll. I used MH Sword 1 to do it.

Master of Misdirection does not affect Confusion from Confusing Combatants or Illusion-inflicted Confusion, like from iMage.

Staff Clones use an old version of Winds of Chaos that travels along the contours of the ground. Also, Bleeding inflicted by Staff Clones’s WoC always lasts 5s instead of 7s, unrelated to Chaotic Dampening.

Far-Reaching Manipulations reduces the CD of Arcane Thievery from 45s to 40s.

The second Chaos trait, Descent into Madness, spawns an old version of Chaos Storm that still applies boons such as regeneration.

Fourth spear skill, Slipstream, will sometimes manifest on the ocean floor below your position rather than in front of you.

The effects of the Illusion trait line doesn’t show as a reduced cooldown in the shatter skill tooltips.

I think this thread needs a huge overhaul. It looks very untidy and disorganized. I dislike that I have to look through the entire list to see if the bug I wish to report is already posted.

I doubt it’s any easier for the devs to glance at the list and see what they want to work on.

If you want to take the responsibility of managing a list like this, please make sure that you’re putting the appropriate effort in. This does not look neat or organized at all. It is very badly formatted.

That being said, I’m just glad the devs are taking the time to acknowledge our efforts. Looks like they’ve been stickying one bug thread in all the class discussion forums. Great!

Warlock doesn’t have a bouncing attack, so his attack should not be effected.

We’re really glad to know that a developer has finally acknowledge the compiled list of bugs we have. That means our effort in putting these together will be addressed in time.

— Only affects Spear abilities and Blurred Frenzy.

Confusing Combatants (Illusions Grandmaster Minor Trait)
— Clones inflict confusion when killed. Phantasms do not. The description specifies illusions.

Phantasmal Haste (Illusions Trait X)
—It does not effect some phantasms. Warlock and Disenchanter being at least two.

Phantasmal Healing (Inspiration Master Minor trait)
— The heal does not proc until 6 seconds after the phantasm is summoned, or longer if they have another buff on summoning, such as fury.
— The regen tick cancels out fury, making it cease to refresh.

Phantasmal Strength (Inspiration Grandmaster Minor Trait)
— Does not stack with other percentage based illusion damage increases.

That one is a lot better organized, but the devs stickied this one, which is why I was trying to get the author to update his formatting.

Also, you’re probably going to run out of space soon. There’s a 5001 character limit on any post, and once you hit it, there is nothing the devs can do. I think we should re-create this thread with several empty posts to fill later, so that we don’t have that issue.

Empowered Illusions (Domination 10) 15% illusion damage and Phantasmal Strength (Inspiration 25) 15% phantasm damage : Traits do not stack, pick one or the other or both it wont change damage = 15% boost instead of 30%

- Some weapon skills dont benefit from cooldown reduction traits like others do
I tested right now : staff, sword, pistol, scepter, greatsword, focus and torch
1/ Scepter
- Illusionary Counter
After specing into the -20% cooldown in scepter the tooltip gets updated from 12sec to 9.5 but when u use the skill u still get a 12 seconds countdown
2/ Sword
- Illusionary Leap
Same deal, spec’d 20% in sword and tooltip got updated yet the countdown remains the same 12 seconds

I didnt test other non weapon cooldown reduction traits yet but i heard there was problems with illusion trait line too

- Decoy not working great. I think the problem is more general to stealth as I do actually kill stealthers with direct target damage while they are already stealthed. I think the problem is that the target check is made when u press the skill but it should check also when u actually fire the skill. As it is if i press skill A before my opponent goes into stealth mode then it will hit him whenever my skill gets fired at him no matter what.

Magic Bullet (Pistol #5)
— Sometimes the projectile vanishes and does nothing.

I have had this happen quite a few times and finally noticed the reason. It’s a side effect of how clicking pretty much anywhere to adjust your camera removes your target. I’ve moved my camera to get a view of the field and pressed #5 at the same time. Instead of going to the nearest target that’s in the direction the bullet was fired at, the skill goes off and nothing happens.

I think other people who have experienced this problem have probably done the same thing.

The Illusionary Elasticity trait doesn’t seem to be affecting Phase Retreat clones when they cast Winds of Chaos.

I know this is listed for the iMage but thought it should be noted for this specific ability as well.

with the new greatsword buffs, superior rune of earth no longer proc bleed EVER on the greatsword #1 attack.

also, there are a ton of places where phase retreat teleports you into the terrain and you’re stuck there forever if you can’t get out of combat to waypoint away.

A more accurate description for phantasm boon traits and video:

Picking up phantasmal fury, vengeful images and phantasmal healing results in all 3 not working properly:

The phantasm gains fury for 10 seconds, never gains retaliation and once fury expires, it starts giving regeneration but then fury never gets refreshed.

sorry for not reading every comment and potentially repeating someone:

- phantasm skills cast at the maximum range possible will not produce a phantasm, despite the red line under the skill icon not showing up anymore.

- some skills have odd delays upon usage, namely Blurred Frenzy (1h Sword) or Magic Bullet. I find this to be a problem with my Elementalist too, so it might be some kind of queuing problem. In any case, Magic Bullet fires off much slower than the Thief equivalent, making the skill very impractical for interrupting skills on reaction.

- GS skill Mirror Blade will not bounce back to you, if you are the only viable target and standing a bit further away. The same is true for the Staff auto attack bounce. (and possibly trident, but I haven’t confirmed).

- when not in line of sight to the target, Magic Bullet will often not fire off but go on cooldown

- Torch skill Prestige will not do any burning damage if you do something while invisible. While this might not be a bug, there should probably be an option to manually trigger the burning damage right away (and cancelling invis) by pressing the skill again. Otherwise, a lot of dps and initiative is lost by just waiting.

- Arcane Thievery will not steal all boons from someone.

- Utility skill Mimic seems to be quite random. It will sometimes not activate (or I was dazed every time or instantly interrupted by sth, not entirely sure) and it will reflect projectiles during the channel… which is nice and should stay that way^^

- Focus skill Phantasmal Warden will often stay rooted to the ground and only sometimes follow its target if it moves.

- Illusionist’s Celerity does not stack with any of the other clone/phantasm CD shortening traits

- Major Illusions trait Masterful Reflection only gives the F4 skill reflection, all other distortion skills remain unreflective

- I could swear Compounding Celerity trait in Inspiration does not work

- (general problem)
Many effects from armor runes and sigils seem not to be working for skills they should affect. I’m sorry I can’t think of any examples right now.
