I run an axe warrior in WvW and just had an interesting fight with a Mesmer…

Well, I say interesting, it was more of a humbling experience for me :-(
He/she started with some sort of invisibility curtain, then I was surrounded and had about 3-5 different conditions on me. I removed them, got a few hits in then I was surrounded again and full of conditions… then my health melted away!
Was amazing and made me think about building a Mesmer myself to try and emulate this build.

So, anyone know which or what build it was?

Probably a PU condition build I’m guessing. It is a full stealth, condition build. Specified for Mesmers only If you want that kind of firepower, join usssss.

My friend, you’ve been Blackwater’d.

It was the 30/30/30/30/30 build.

One of the traits they used disabled your dodge key and the other disabled your condition removal.

Anyone mind saying what PU stands for? Just coming back to my mes after a long break.

I would explain it to you, but first I’d like to ask what sort of understanding you have of how the mesmer class works?

“Blackwater’d” haven’t actually heard that one before,

Anyway, can you remember what weapons the Mesmer was using?

The most common sets for the type of build that you probably faced are staff+sceptre/torch and sword+pistol/sceptre+torch or a combination of them, but the traits are mostly the same, using 20/20/30/0/0 (These traits allow the Mesmer to obtain the on death traits, so that when the illusions/clones die they put on conditions to the people around them. then there is Prismatic Understanding, which grants longer stealth and boons)

Anyway, feel free to have a look at the build in my sig, or the ones chaos/pyro posted, That ones my Blackwater build, however also take a look at Osi’s guide, he has a PU condition Mesmer there too and his guides are pretty good.
