Guild Wars 2

Admittedly, i’m not very good at making builds, but i’m trying to find one that’s a good mix of how I want to play. This build will be for PvE/WvW, but probably PvE more than anything.

What I want: I want to be heavy on healing and survivability through mostly +Healing Power/Signet of the Wild. I also want to put some traits into making my pet more powerful, because I want him to be the source of physical damage while I dish out conditions. I’ll most likely be using felines for this.

Well, that’s what I think sounds like fun, but i’m not sure itd work. I tested out the build in PvP but it’s hard to tell without the armor stats and other factors as to how it’s going to work in PvE.

Right now the build I just fiddled with was 0/20(I, V)/20(IV, VIII)/10(III)/20(I, VII) in HotM using 3x Dwayna Runes and 3x Afflicted Runes. Shortbow (Agony) and Axe/Warhorn(Hydromancy/Chilling Sigils).

My priority is survivability, so i’d sacrifice traits to improve my pet for traits that improve my healing. Next most important to me is making my pet powerful enough to be a problem to enemies, and the last priority is making me dish out conditions and improve condition damage.

I picked the shortbow for conditions, obviously, and I picked Axe/Warhorn because if my goal is to stay out of melee range as much as possible, chilling would be very important, as well as mobility from the warhorn. I wanted to steer away from melee weapons.

I didn’t think about what skills to use too much, definitely run Signet of the Wild/Frost Trap/Healing Spring and Rampage as One for my elite.

It is pretty pet centric, and has lots of healing for you. Also, you can get the cheep Dwayna Karma armor to get started, and then sub in something else as you go. You can use cats for PvE. or Drakes for taking camps in WvW. The birds he uses are good for dueling and roaming because of all the extra vigor.

I have since moved away from such pet centric builds though. Especially in wvw, pets just aren’t that effective because your target is always moving. I really don’t rely on them at all. It took a month, but I got myself a full set of Celestial armor and trinkets and put together a regen/crit build. I’m very satisfied with it. It has lots of sustain from regen, lots of power from crits and condition damage.
