Can somebody double-check the conditions for Smokescales? I’ve been to both areas when all their tiers are up and no juveniles spawned.

For the southern location (SCAR Bivouac / Vine Wall), they spawn after you complete the event chain about building and moving a cannon to the location and using it to clear out the mordrem.

Sitting at smokescale location. Almost to tier four (or maxed) and nothing…

Edit: Did the entire tier to completion and got the rewards. The juvenile smokescales never spawned. Will try the SCAR area later.

Ok I have just gotten my smokescale at the SCAR area. The juveniles spawned immediately after the event to set fire using the cannons completed.

SCAR event bugged as it was going up the hill.
There was a group of about 6 of us defending it and it went “inactive”

Tier 3 map completed also did not spawn,

I don’t understand the problem with the smoke-scale. Just do the events for the frogs that are trying to raise bugs to defend them, if you manage to up their defenses sufficiently the smoke scales will start spawning, if nobody bothers with the event they won’t spawn.

Don’t be a patronizing kitten. I did the events. I did work for it, people have said they tried to get the map as high as they could and it still wouldn’t spawn. It isn’t the problem of people not working if they’re doing what they’re supposed to and still can’t get it for some reason that’s just poor design.

Sorry mate it’s truth, you got a full guide, it worked for so many of us, i helped getting smokescale to all my ranger friends, and if guide doesn’t work, at least you know location, but you can still research further why they don’t spawn.

So Im gonna do some testing today and see if my theory is correct since pets in the new areas are affected by day and night of when they are supposed to appear.

I looked at the point where you marked the tiger – i waited until night and day also full camp – no tiger for me.

well that failed…just thought, they would appear….sigh oh well lol

Can you both stop arguing, we’re supposed to be helping each other find where the pets locations are, not fight about something stupid…..

Spawned as soon as T4 Hit.
They spawn ONE at a time periodically.
Tame quick because its first come first serve as they spawn.

Anyone know where to find Electric Wyvern and Tiger?

I found a dev in game and she told me that the Wyverns were split up between VB and Dragon’s Stand.
She didn’t know exactly where, but she said if the electric Wyverns were not in VB then they’re probably in Dragon’s Stand

Just got the smokescale in the exact location everyone said it was at. It is night time. I just got to this area so I have no clue what tier it’s at. There are two spawned from what I see, maybe even three considering I just took one.

edit: I think it just spawned quickly because I’ve been here a while and I just see two.

To get into Dragon’s Stand you head from the Ley-Line Confluence into the Ogre Lane and keep following that cave till you hit the portal.
I have no clue where it is in Dragon’s Stand though

There is an area called Wyvren Scar though, sound promising.

Dante, I’m here to help, to help each other and I and a lot of people did put in a lot of effort to find this pets, a lot of people just came here to talk trash all day long because they are frustrated. Yesterday i had a 1 hour surgery, and even though i was in pain, I’ve dedicated 8 hours of playing to just find pets nothing else, but pets.

It worked for me, it worked for many people that asked me to help them. I also tried to whisper those who send me in game mail to taxi them. Did you maybe think of people that want a lazy solution, and just rage because they don’t get things ASAP? I’m a wvw player, and I took 8 hours to play a game mode that i don’t even enjoy playing. Rather then posting absurd rage posts on forum i’ve decided to gather people, and find them together.

I found fire wyvern and bristle on my own, but without community i wouldn’t find smokescale, because i’ve already scanned that area long ago and i was deeper in the jungle searching for it, if it wasnt for people telling me the location i would never found it.

I did know day/night cycle has maybe something to do with it, i’ve analysed pictures and images when did they seen mobs on that location, and i’ve made conclusion that they spawn at night time, i had though because they are smoke scale that they hide other then at night. While doing events i’ve checked spawn every 5 min. It took me 2 hours to get it. I worked for that pet really hard. And if XXXX like you guys come to forum and release your XXXX talk on me, I’m with all respect saying, you and all of raging impatient people don’t deserve that pet, and next time show some respect to those that are ready to share conclusions, theory craft and data from first hand.

I can write down at least 17 rangers that can confirm my help and they already enjoy smokescale WvW fights. I can happily say that i’ve had ingame conversation with one of devs, and they were happy to see community help each other as we did yesterday, and i want to keep doing this until we find all 5 of them.

I won’t even try to replay on future toxic comments as such.

Finally got the Smokescale in the location described by the OP. Tier three. I camped my character near the spot and took a nap. My wife played on her character, but watched my screen.

Two of them showed up about two hours later, she said. Yes, first come, first serve, which is unbelievable given the circumstances . . . but she and I got them.

Should I feel bad that when I first got onto the map and walked over there they were already spawned and ready for me to grab. ^^;;; Not my fault, just lucky.

Today i got my SmokeScale, One thing to note, only two spawn, however they respawned where i was today every 3 minutes or so

aaaand the smokescale got nerfed…

I’m in Dragons Stand as i type, I’ll let you all know and post pics if I find an electric wyvern or tiger unless someone beats me to it

I ran into more fire wyvern’s in Dragon’s Stand by that wyvern’s scar place. Haven’t seen the electric one yet though.

Not a thing….infact the lack of green and yellow mobs is quite disturbing.

That’s the northern blighting tower (the big red circle), tigers certainly can’t be there. Unless you mean they are by the yellow dot?

There is a spot by broken alter that has a vet tiger and normal tigers, but I didn’t see any juveniles. It could be that certain conditions must be met before they spawn though. Who knows.

Where near broken alter were the tigers?

Edit: The tigers are directly northwest of the Broken Alter writing on the map, in a cove.

Gonna try and camp this place through the tiers of the map, night and day, I will report my findings.

The people who were there doing the event said the only way to access that area was to beat the boss and event leading up to it…but im not sure, I havent done it yet.

Then I thought, omg, all this for a tiger or electric wyvern? Lol

Yeah, I was talking to people in map and they said the same thing. That you have to beat that event and then the area behind it opens up and that’s where these pets are supposedly. No one has beaten the event though, so it’s just guessing. But I haven’t seen these pets anywhere else so I suppose they must be there.

The fire wyvern is also found around the wyvern scar area of Dragon Stand. Up top. You have to use jumping mushrooms to get to the area. It’s much easier to just get them in the canopy though.

I can also confirm the Smokescale in the Chak/Nuhoch area. I sat for nearly an hour slaying Chak while reading others experiences. I decided to jump in and do the dynamic events about feeding the beetles and training them. As soon as you kill the big Chak (2 or 3 mini events in there before it comes out), run back outside of the cave and head due south. There should be some smokescales spawned there around the tree. On the back side of the tree was a juvenile that I Ancestral Graced my way to after popping every swiftness I could find. Now I have him!

man this is bullkitten. ive stayed at that place for the last 2 days, ive done every single event in teku, ive been there from t1-4, and still kitteng nothing, wtf is this bullkitten, anet fix this crap

man smokescale is impossible to get. nobody does the camp event there for that pet to spawn.

i found a little den with a bunch of tigers in dragon’s stand. just like the smokescaele spot you probably have to get the map to tier 3 for them to show up or something

i know, but thats the way im used to, and have showed my friends and guildies how to get it, without having to go to dragon’s stand

If you want to help your fellow Rangers out, you can use the LFG system to help them. If you are near or at one of the new pets, flag LFG with a message such as “AT SMOKESCALE PET” Someone did this yesterday and they are my hero. She was grinding Mastery Exp, saw them and flagged.

There’s also the area that is gated behind beating the blighted tower event. I think there is a good chance they might be there.
