Im sorry for newbie questions but im quite a casual player and i only do WvW but now i notice like every1 else that recharge rate on evade bar is quite SLOW…
i use 40% recharge food etc but i feel like a slow kitten guardian now..

now obviously my question is, im playing S/D thief with traits acro/power/trickery. Did they really nerf our evading to dead? to point that i can just hacknslash till i die? so far in WvW i have no problem with new changes apart from fact that my evading is totally kitten now…

i notice that i cant even build up Might anymore aswell tho my damage is fine..

now all i wanna know is since im casual as hell and dont have much time to test things out if someone has maybe new build out there for S/D thiefs..

imo acro trait line is nerfed dead, it’s bad. i don’t recommend to use it. you don’t get might anymore from dodge.

any kind of evade, i just feel like im like any other class now i can ram two times evade and i have massive cooldown while in most fights i have 90% recharge rate on endurance

like vs a mesmer i dont stand a chance i see a mesmer maybe twice in whole fight they are basically perma hide all i see is a trail of clones coming out of nowhere (where ever he is in hide)

basically i lost track on how thief is suppose to deffend them self..

hey reddie, S/D SB is still the top choice set for weapon based evasions. I have a friend having great success with it traited for DA SA TR lines.

hmm i tried shadow arts instead of acro but honestly i dunno where you friend is pulling run speed from?
i dont use the signet for 25% run speed, i dont have any hides also apart from cloak and dagger. in my setup atleast

dont like Anet changes(((

was having a good time with almost perma 140% endurance recharge rate now only 90% sucks but i doubt Anet will change anything
i already figured out what Anet did was nerfing vigor from 100% to 50% making my playstyle 50% “slower” which is crap but ill try to adjust..
evading was pretty much my only deffense against 2 or more enemies. 1v1 not much has changed apart from fact that i just got destroyed by ranger for first time in some time >.<

dont like Anet changes(((

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m using Runes of the Traveler which gives me a permanent 25% movement increase. I’ve used them for a few weeks, but this patch seems to make them even more important… at least, in PvP. It also frees up a slot on my utility bar so I don’t need Signet of Shadows.

Ps. I’m running Sword/Dagger with Deadly Arts, Critical Strikes, and Trickery… having a whole lot of fun with the Flanking Strike + Trickster traits! :-D

Suggestions to overhaul the Thief…

That sounds like my build, how do your hits feel with Traveler Runes compared to The Pack?

I don’t use Pack runes unless I need the power and precision. It’s great to have, but then I usually use the Signet of Shadow to make up for the lost speed. I actually don’t think I have any means of swiftness in my build, and I don’t want to rely on getting hit, haha!

I’m not saying I have the greatest build, but I do love my speed. It gets me in and out of places a lot easier. I can run targets down, and also outrun them usually. And with the Haste utility being only positive now, I find it too good to give it up for a signet.

As for the damage output, I haven’t played enough with both to compare. I still hit hard, especially with the Quickness boon. I’d say it’s more dependent on what the target’s defenses are. I just know that speed helps me survive, so I end up able to deal out more damage than I would if I were dead :-P
