I use this build

You can sub out Impact Strike for Basi Venom or Dagger Storm

And you can swap Weakening Strikes for Havoc Mastery.

You gotta make good use of Shortbow to be really successful with S/D.

Just slowly dps and when they’re open or channelling something go for a burst chain with Larcenous strike + steal, weap swap and shortbow 2 spam

to play s/d you need to know every animation of every class and react accordingly with asian 400+++ apm to be viable. rest is only practice situations && gameplay experience.

topic: it’s ‘fun – to -play’ tier, can be viable if you are very good at it but has sooo many counters…

I agree that it takes great practice and experience to play s/d, I met a perplex condi reaper on wvw the other day and did I struggle, not because of the condis but how they were applied. He used the fear wall which I don’t recall the cast animation ( if this is 1) the daze on wh and fear on staff, I did lose but it took a good few mins. Next time I will know better perhaps beat it.

S/d is also much more fun then d/p or staff, it’s even troll like in eb zerg fesr because you can teleport in from 2K range burst some 1 down who is low and back out again. Fair enough it dosnt work all of the time nor are you in the postion to stomp but it’s still pretty entertaining.

Only if you don’t spam #1 in down state! Had a sulk at a guildy for doing that so I let him get stomped, I told many times not to do that. then he raged and logged off.

That’s the only thing that up sets me is people breaking stealth when I pop sr or blinding powder.

I only spam 1 when I’m really annoyed – rarely the case – I found that healing myself is the most effective way to get up again. But mind you, I’m mostly downed while rezzing someone – you can safely port in and out of BTA

And btw: I’m a thief – I know, I know.

ETA: And I kind of found that I’ve lost hope – otherwise I would have stated “Teef for lyfe” but… I think it’s useless to hold onto this game.
