Hello,

I simply can’t decide which to master at this point. I love the decapping ability when using unhindered, yet i’ve realised it doesn’t help me that much when there is a bunker holding a point. Even when 1+ I just feel i am not being really helpful.

While using bounding dodger, I simply miss the speed but 1vs1 become far easier. It’s better to be the one that applies the pressure making my opponent into defense mode.

So, for high ranked, which is more viable to master? Or maybe it all depends on the team comp?

if i dont play vs necro i go for bound. otherwise dash is better for chill removal and survivability. bound is harder to play but greater risk the greater the reward is. Still levin prefers dash becouse speed is one of most important thing for thief

Unfortunately, as much as I dislike it, Dash is simply mandatory.

Bound fits my playstyle perfectly and I love the whole functionality of it (the damage is great pressure, but not even its main selling point), however, I have died from a single chill, because my heal and my agility signet were on cooldown and I had to watch that stupid condition taking away 10k health without me being able to do anything about it after I had killed the necro.

That’s when I decided that on top of the nice speed boost, I had to run Dash to have a cleanse for the way too long movement inhibiting condition applications in game.

if you are running Impacting Disruption there is less need to bound ’couse your damage will be high enough. the swiftness on dash and the condi clense are needed almost every game. bound makes you more vulnerable for example vs druids and thieves becouse of theyr immob procks, vs necros becouse of chill etc….
if you are really worried about a good thief or mesmer rupting your stealth combo all the time you can take bound but mehh….

PS: you should take Impacting Disruption with any build with offhand pistol. It’s just broken…

you can use Rune of the Traveler for 25% movement speed. Kinda sux but its still a way for having both bound and %speed

do NOT do this.

Edit: if u decide to run bound you should run scholar or some other burst amulet.

I came to realize im too reliant on escapist absolution against condi players. Way too helpful. If im running this, is it redundant to use dash?

nah. if u run both thats completely fine, you just dropp the most broken trait of thief for it.
if you are playing s/d both are mandatory. Diversity starts when you run smth like d/p or s/p.

I know there will be some who disagree with me on this but my personal thought is this:
Bound works for both s/d and d/p but it lacks the escapability of dash. S/d I generally would run dash due to escapes being one of the only reasons you survive well. On d/p, I’d run bound unless there is a necro on the other team then you will want the consistent chill removal. I’d say ALWAYS run EA, there is too much condi in the game right now to not have it without making yourself too easy to kill (yes impact has broken af damage but I find it more worthwhile having the extra survivability in teamfights and the ability to adapt to whatever I have to face on the fly). Hope that helps with the decision, and as a side note if you do run bound with d/p make good use of sb 5 to make up for your lack of swiftness as you will still make good time to points.

Bound was a lot of fun playing S/P in wvw yesterday, running acro Trickery and daredevil. I fought a plex necro and was winning the fight before getting ganked, and I was running pulmonary impact instead of the condi cleanse just to see how good the acro changes were. Depends what your playstyle suits, although D/P with dash and quickness is probably better rounded tbh.

never mind this XD. run that broken shlt trait(Impacting Disruption) on s/d too noothing can go wrong. you have jump->sword#2^2 for condi cleanse :d.

This is exactly right, you only have 1 dps set and 1 utility set, so you should make it count.

Personally I prefer bound because the leap combo is super handy and comes in super helpful especially with things like the rangers stolen seed item and pistol 5, for example
