Because when you go on youtube and type Thief vs Zerg you see things no other profession can pull off.
You are certainly correct,if you type thief vs zerg you only find videos about thieves. try typing guardian vs zerg or elementalist vs zerg or mesmer vs zerg, you may be surprised

He didn’t say “you won’t see other proffessions” but “you will see things no other proffession is capable of” – please, read with understanding next time than trying to be wise-champ in here.

Lert, please take your thief and run w/e power spec and try running front line with them. Then try it on warrior, or guardian, or even necro. Notice your thief can’t do what a guardian, or warrior, or necro can do? You really have no argument to be made, other than that you got jumped out in wvw and had no response. Sorry, L2P or reroll so you aren’t so glassy.

I love how every thread that is supposed to point out the flaws of the class turns into a L2Read and “You’re a kitten” response.
If you watch those Youtube videos of thief outnumbered, you will either encounter 1) a very smart player (yishis, aikijinx, etc) or 2) someone that is fighting against a bunch of bad players. This is not a good measure of how good the class is.

Totally is. Youtube videos is the new source for factual information. Except ofc videos of other classes are fake.

They refuse to learn how to play and instead go onto the forums and cry about their problems.
Fortunately, there are a few people who actually DO know how to play, and they (surprisingly) are actually playing the game and figuring stuff out. Instead of kittening on the forums about OOHHH PEEEEE and try to get all the attention because they whine like children and people laugh at them.

But thieves are supposed to driving other damage dealers out of this meta! Theres no way to deal with such high damage thieves!!!
If you visit any given forum you will notice that most people think their class is underpowered, and that every other class or x class is overpowered.
It’s like that old phrase; “The squeaky wheel is bad at playing GW2.”
Because 99% of the people playing this game are really bad.
It is literally impossibly for 99% of an entire player pool to be bad. Learn what averages are, and how they work.

D/D is considered one of the most balanced and “fair” stealth builds a Thief can make, and I run little trouble downing players when I run it. D/P or P/D is literally GW2 cancer.

Good post. The Thief class in GW2 is probably the most annoying class I’ve ever fought in ANY MMO or any game for that matter where you’re fighting against other players. D/P – P/D is just… Huh? What were the devs thinking? Lol.
That’s why maybe…
Were you running glass, were you upleveled, were you tanky, etc. These are important questions man, very important.
Dude, you can answer to all these 3 questions only looking at deffensive stats I posted. (no-no-yes if you can’t figure it out).
You posted armor rating, vitality, boon duration, and healing power. 3/4 of that tells me nothing. If I saw Toughness instead of armor rating, it would tell me everything. Somebody said it earlier up, why were you using just pistol and bomb? Throw grenades, use Elixir S, Supply Crate his kitten .
OMFG! are you serious!? hes an engineer and complaining. ive played 5 days on my engineer and have only lost 1v1 to a thief ONCE…and it was bc i fumbled. engineer NEVER should lose to thief. i run RAMPAGERS…..no toughness. no healing. just rampagers and p/s 20 – 20 – 0 – 30 – 0
It’s everything cool and flowers in theory, but when your hp goes to the bottom in just 3 hits (which apparently weren’t his strongest) there’s not much you can do beside doing best to heal up. The pistol skill is a chain, which i was already chanelling. Bomb was from dodge.
To make it clear: Thief had absolutely no food buffs, no bloodlust stacks and no might stacks when he attacked. Neither was he using power signet.youhave to react. if u dont …well thats your fault. any class can melt a zerg/ramp/valk in seconds.

magnetic shield

Air blast (flame thrower)
Dodge #2
smoke vent (flame thrower)
Elixir S
Supply Crate
Gear shield
Detonate healing turret (explode + knockback)
Dodge #3there is about 35-40 seconds of not being able to be touched…..

Dude, I honestly don’t care about your l33t suggestions, since it’s not a L2P issue (and apparently the only argument of every thief).
when players cant comprehend why you have a hard time playing against a thief…. yes….yes it very much IS a learn to play issue. would u care for me to demonstrate against YOU in a video and have me post it here?

Most mobile and most escape abilities in game = OP. My main is a thief but I have every other class at 80. Most can’t run away from thieves and warriors, add in so many stealth opportunities and you can come in and out of combat whenever. This leads to easy 2v1s or more. No other class can claim that in the game.

Shadow refuge, at the cost of pseudo regen, now gives us BETTER protection as well as the party. The QQ is real

Congrats, you found a Mesmer that can stealth half the amount a thief can and maybe juke people away. Oh yeah but if a thief wants to leave a fight there’s nothing the Mesmer can do. I’ve also never seen roaming mesmer teams get away from thief teams on jq/tc/bg

Except with LoS and terrain, you don’t need “perma stealth” to escape a fight. Also Mesmer can deal DIRECT DAMAGE while in stealth due to clones, and shattering clones costs almost nothing at the rate they can produce them. Mesmers hands down beat thief in any 1v1 at the same skill level, they have an answer to anything thief tries. People rage at thief over Mesmer because thief can perma or near perma stealth (depends on build) which makes fighting them rather annoying but not impossible (clearly shown in video).
Give thieves better out of stealth sustain for both stealth and non-stealth builds and there will be no reason to cower in stealth for 10+ seconds unless they are outnumbered. All of them outnumbered videos are of a stealth thief, you won’t see a non-stealth thief 1v3+and win. Point is stealth is a culprit not thief.
