Pack’s more offensive, Scrapper’s more defensive…
Scrapper or Durability, imo the latter is the better of the two.
Pack is good, but the sustain from the above sets outweighs the damage from Pack.
I run pack but mainly because I ran it before the elite specs so I could have perma swiftness. Now I’m considering moving into a more offensively oriented sigil set. I would be worried about sacrificing too much damage with sd but it might be worth it, I’m not sure.

Scrapper will help you become more bruiser-y and help sustain yourself in teamfights, but if you think you can handle less survivability, go for pack.

How does durability really add much sustain? 3 seconds of prot/regen/resist every 20sec really isn’t much. Boon duration is kind of meh, considering we don’t have excess access to a ton of boons.
Which leaves just the toughness, which we can get plenty of other places.
One of the big problems the thief seems to have atm is it’s lack of any serious sustain during a prolonged team fight. Which relegates the thief to the only role they can actually do well, which is jumping all over the map decapping points to throw the other team off.
Mesmer for example has access to near 100% uptime on protection & regen + a 1k heal every time they summon a clone. This is just one example, tempest, dragon hunter, rev, scrapper, etc all have access to massive amounts of sustain.
Which is why these are the classes you see almost 90% of the time in higher ranked tier games currently.
rune of durability adds overall good survivability.
boon duration adds to the boons it gives (currently bugged, 25%, not 20% as it should be) —> with bountiful theft longer vigor uptime, more fury, etc.
the toughness is always nice to survive a bit longer every fight you enter. vita the same with the bonus of being very important with all the conditions flying around.
The protection come whe you get attacked, so it can save you from a burst or adds to your evade-heal-more vita and toughness-sustain. It sums up.
Anyone knows how scrapper works on AOE that is away from the source? Does the threshold work or not?
A big advantage of scrapper is the power-bonus. For me a difficult choice. I donĀ“t play thief that much currently, so hard to determine.
Vampirism. It happens alot for me to be the top “healing done to self”. Like pretty much every match. Its the one that give the most sustain IMO.
I like durability myself. The advanatges of that extra boon duration already noted , that protection it affords is not on that long a cooldown. if you can get it 5 seconds in 20 it rather nice and especially if traited to take 10 percent less damage after a dodge (unhindered) and or from weakened foes.
The part I really like is that 125 vitality. With all the conditions floating around more vitality is always nice.

use vamp or durability.
(imo vamp is overall better due to tripple leech it gives more effective survivability and increses DMG output highly)
