I mean it. That was a hell of a fight. I was there from the moment you started trebbing the NW wall. I was even the guy that took out your first 2 trebs fron the hill NE of SMC.

We held strong for at least 4 hours of constant heavy assualt from both Mag and EB. So out of respect to my enemies; It could have gone either way, everyone deserved that win, we all punched hard and Mag pulled it out in the end.

I know I’m probably gonna get flak for giving praise its due, but to CD i have this to say:

Don’t hang your head, don’t get upset; Relish the fact it took incredible odds to be overwhelmed. We gave them hell and made them earn every step they took into SMC.

Unlike most on these forums, I hold no malice toward my enemies. I respect them for they only seek the same as I. I really wish people would take this token of respect back with them and rethink the current forum attitudes.

Most people I see (when I play, mostly at US central night) are traitted to fight in groups, not 1v1. Another impressive thing that I’ve seen in the past couple weeks is that we have commanderless zergs that know what to do and communicate properly.

CD has flaws, yes, but it has plenty of skillful communicative, and competent players. Like all servers, I assume.

I find it a little weird that both CD and EB claim we have a lot of thieves,

I haven’t really seen an unusual number of them these past few weeks. Saw a few that really knew what they were doing the first week and then a LOT that really didn’t know what they were doing last week (heartseeker strike without some other kind of attack to take a big chunk out of my health first? Maybe in the really high damage gear but not when you’re only going to do half of the health of a clothy before you’re out of initiative…) but the ratios don’t seem unusual to me.

I was probably one of those, I just got my thief to 80 last Friday but I crafted most of it so I had/have no idea what I’m doing

Don’t really post here but I figured I’d just drop in with a few comments about the past few weeks of wvw from my Maguuma perspective.

Crystal Desert, you guys communicate well and use your numbers advantage commendably. Good Yak ambushes too. Congrats on your victories for the past couple of weeks. PURG’s d/d thieves and their 9k back-stabs, BB’s d/d eles and a few other guilds stood out, at least to me (I’m that Norn p/p thief in iRez guild that you kept killing and who refuses to go dagger/dagger just because I like to be different). These are things CD did well.

Things that bugged me (and I’m sure there are Maguuma players who do it too, but does that make it ok?) were watching CD players use map exploits to get into keeps and towers and a huge number of CD players who tend to hit alt f4 rather than take a death. That kind of stuff just makes y’all look bad.

Ehmry Bay, the weeks prior to this one your strategy of hitting Maguuma at the same time as CD worked well – you guys did well to capitalize on it. Didn’t seem to work out so well this week, and your presence and score in wvw seems to be suffering from your lack of ‘cooperation’ with the CD efforts.

Except for the exploiting, the quitting when you’re downed and the cheesiness this has been an interesting match-up. Good luck in your future battles, CD and EB. iRez will be waiting for you when you come back.

Exactly. That was a large part of the point I was trying to make earlier. It’s easy to roll up on someone solo and kill them if you’re playing a class / build meant for 1v1, and then dismiss that player as having no skill. But in my opinion that’s a very narrow way of looking at WvW.

It’s too bad most people would rather come on the forums and blindly attack other players, because it’s easier to say “You’re only winning because you have a zerg when we don’t!” rather than say something nice about a player or a server.

It’s also easier to completely dismiss your own faults as a group or a player, rather than acknowledge said faults and to work on them. Most people, like before, would rather come here, say their server is amazing and flame everyone else.

When I was talking about WvW success I wasn’t talking about points, or even winning. I was talking about being good at the things that gain points for the server. You don’t have to win to be good at taking keeps or holding them…. but you do have to be good at those things if you ever want to win.

As you admit yourselves, you guys don’t play to win, so from what I’ve seen you’re not developing the skills needed to win as a server. It has nothing to do with the idea that one server is more or less skilled than another, just that some servers, in general, are more focused on being skilled at different aspects of the game than others.

I’m sure there are exceptions on every server, but we’re talking about server wide, on average, players tend to share similar playstyles.

I know I’m not the only person who frequents these forums. But as a person who came fresh from Sorrows Furnace right after there fight against HoD and ET (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/Sorrows-Furnace-World-Record) i believe that is your post you started. You don’t have the right to flame the other servers as you were not here last week. I’ve loved the past 2 weeks worth of fights against Ebay and CD. CD i wish you the best of luck next week in Tier 3 and Ebay it’s round 3 against a new server.

I’m glad Ebay and Maguuma have started to get off on a better footing as I can’t remember how many times we’ve gotten our forums closed down.

I guess I will make this my last reply to you, because we’re literally going in circles and I’m pretty sure we both want to punch each other in the face. Just because we don’t care about winning absolutely does not, in any world ever, mean we don’t care about being good at taking keeps or holding them. You can reiterate that all you want, but you really have no idea what has been happening on our server in the past few weeks, so you’re basing your conclusion off of self-anecdotal observation of a black box. Like I mentioned before, I will freely admit that I believe we’re faltering in some areas, and they may coincide with your observations, but they have nothing to do with your conclusion.

Whether or not your server is good at (skilled at) larger WvW scale operations such as taking and holding points is a matter of opinion, and not really something I wanted to argue about. So I’ll just agree to disagree there…. just wanted to touch on this part I quoted….

It was never my intention to imply that Maguma doesn’t have skilled players… In fact it’s the opposite. No server, including Crystal Desert or Maguma, has any business attempting to judge the skills of another server, especially when the servers in question don’t focus on playing the game in the same way.

Anyway, I’ve enjoyed this match up for the last 2 weeks. But I’m more excited for next week. I doubt we’ll overcome TC’s numbers, but I hope we can at least do better than the last time we faced them.

We play the game the exact same way. We all focus on capturing points and holding them. The difference is Mag plays for the battles we’re currently in, and CD (or at least you) seem to play for the end score.

It’s been established over the last 2 weeks of reading your players criticize the way CD plays, and our overall philosophy. Funny how different we play when it suits the idea that we suck, but when it’s mentioned that not caring about the score could be an indication of potential weakness in playing strategies that would raise the score, it’s completely unfathomable that we might have a different style of playing.

Whatever suits your argument at the time I guess.

Good Morning/Evening to all CD/Ebay/Mag From Oceanic Timing (GMT+8)

This tread is about scoreline and glorious moment which happen during our world vs world, This is however no a flaming/trolling tread.

Each server has it shares of up and downs. Each server has its shares of cases of hack/exploits etc. But this is a MMO and in every MMO not all programming codes are full proof. People will use this programming codes to gain an unfair advantage, but please do stop the slapping of each other server just because of these as it will degrade into what we call forum trolling fight. Why not use this time instead of forum fighting be put into more constructive efforts such as gaining points in wvw, capturing towers and killing more red dots {enemy players}. I believe that doing this will result in a much more genuine fun experience for all.

Just a simple recap, CD server went to the T2 at the peak, however we are also beaten soundly by other servers there and CD drop a tier down during this period it was a tiring moment for all CD as we have exodus of guild going to other server and wvw suffer as a whole and CD was unable to maintain constant wvw presence at even our own BL, moral was at all-time low. But to all CD players who persist, we been rewarded as staying top position for the past 2 weeks when we faced Ebay and Mag also we might have gain some guild coming to join CD server. To all mag and ebay you have been worthy opponents, please do not be demoralize, believe in your server as we EsF have believe in and stay on to fight , CD might or might not go up a tier but fight for your fun of share in WvW.

EsF believe that having fun is very important in any aspect of MMO. It is also a fact when we counter memser bomb that we EsF also cry foul which wipe us a few time but coming to think back why are we crying foul when it is executed to perfection by other server who perfect this method. So much so that we EsF also learn to adapt and use these methods ourselves. Also I believe Mag encounter EsF puzzle jumping onto the ruin tower to treb their keep but they did not cry foul when Mag player realize this is a jumping puzzle up. This is still a relative new MMO as compared to WoW or any other MMO, there will always be opportunities to expand further but I sincerely implore all three servers Ebay/Mag/CD players to honestly have fun. EsF still not field any members for 2 nights as we took a little break from wvw till last nite when SMC was red. We field at least 7 full parties excluding other cd servers players and we cap the EB green with the help of commander alec and sibeisian who was the distracting factor which allow the main EsF guild to recap SMC and Mag Keep. We have fun even if we have our golem destroy We have fun when we superior treb from various location into Mag Keep. In short have fun as a guild, as a single player, as a party but always have fun,

In an earlier post, EsF believe in safety in numbers and even sometimes with numbers I caused EsF some lemming deaths or stupid wipe but I learn from mistake and EsF give me the support needed for a commander. So likewise to all Ebay/Mag commanders do not be stress played to have fun even if you do not have the numbers you needed to take over a tower/keep just keep fighting for your fun share of wvw. To all fellow CD commander, you guys deserved /salute too for rally and fighting on.

That saying I would once again salute all mag/ebay oceanic crew for giving some heart attack in our time and to all CD players who roam oceanic time you guys also deserved a /salute from a fellow CD server player.

I’m a little envious that the KH guild in CD is able to field so many people at once. I don’t think Maguuma has a guild that can field that many, certainly not this late in the match.

Yes I came from Sorrows Furnace (The reason I left was because we dominated that matchup against HoD and ET). Unlike alot of the people who play WvW I do not enjoy being on the winning server, I play WvW to kill people that is all. I don’t care about objectives or score as long as there is people to kill I am happy. I actually respect Ehmry Bay as they actually seem to have competent players who don’t need to rely on numbers to win.

No, they aren’t. We failed immensely earlier tonight which allowed CD to take west keep. KH played a big part in that.

CD has had a full online population 24/7 for the 3 weeks we’ve fought them. It really doesn’t matter. CDs “off hours” are just as strong as our prime time.
