The non-score thread is a good idea but I don’t think it needs to be weekly. Perhaps think about making this a permanent thread and just call it Tier 1 non-score discussion.

If you want to segment weekly affairs you can just post in the thread with a reply that states Week of 12/7 below or something.

That way we can have one static thread that encompasses all the non-score issues and lets people read through previous week discussions more easily.

That’s a good idea.. Next week I will Start up a new thread without the week title. We can run that thread until someone moves down / our of T-1. This was the only way we could avoid overmoderation on the other thread…which is a bit sad to say.

I could type a book about this epic hour and a half long fight for the bay we just had on SBI BL with SOS. SOS guys, how awesome was that?!?!
AGG guys, the ending of this could have been yours if you weren’t so predictable. I had my team stand outside the supp camp and build AC’s and as soon as you portal bombed out, we were rained down on ya.
Anyway. That was one fight I’ll never forget. No cheats, no exploits. Just brute strength and strategy on BOTH sides.

So 1st and 2nd place spend 5 hours double teaming 3rd place on EB with barely attacking each other. SoS spawn camps JQ while SBI takes keep, then SoS withdraws?

Shame they are so scared to fight each other, JQ should take this as a compliment, takes two T1 servers to beat em lol

Wow…. that’s so wrong. Wednesday night on our JQ puzzle, I came right up behind an SOS and SBI and they started at me like, “Oh kitten”. I quickly said to them, “Go ahead, it’s ok” and we all ran the puzzle together.

PvE’rs who only want to experience the puzzle shouldn’t be denied so harshly. Thus, I’m thinking this might be karma coming back to your server for camping in EB’s puzzle and setting up siege no less.

I haven’t been on this morning either. Game’s too buggy and lagging like a freak. Though after seeing the pic of EB, I going in now!

Now that you mention it, I think I remember as I was taking another drink because someone said take a drink that there was a portal bomb called! LOL… kitten #8230; I was like, “Wait a second, SoS has this keep now….” Well, there goes that plan! It was really one of those moments where you’re like, YEAH WE ARE AWESOME!!!… enough to get the kitten keep ninja’d from behind us…

Oh, and to the posts about EB, I’m not sure what your situation was, but if you were outmanned, I know I start to smell blood and go for that, but since it was EB, it probably was not outmanned. My guess is those teams from SBI and SoS seen that swords were initially going up in hardcore areas so they probably spent time just running upgrades on their with holdings and figured if the other server is hitting you from the other side, it’d be easy pickins to hit the same target. We experienced that on JQ BL after a while with JQ trebbing the hell out of us in the north and SoS taking the ruin island and hitting out SW Tower. You guys are not alone :X We were just fortunate enough to hold on to our portion of the map somehow…

Most people i play with didn’t play much tonight cause the lag was horrible. Pretty much like SM lords room everywhere on the map. Just another reason that will keep people from playing WvW for awhile.

Our guys are complaining about this also.. Im getting lagged anytime I get near a zerg. I think this is directly related to the new culling change. Please stop by the thread posted by Habib about the culling change and express your dislike of this.

You have how wvw works ALL wrong. Quick naked scenario:

SOS has 100 players
SBI has 70 players
JQ has 40 players

You say that SBI should attack SOS. who will JQ attack? they will attack SBI. so now SBI will have do fight 140 players and will get crushed. Now once SBI is crushed. SOS will attack JQs 40 players and easily crush them. Now SOS owns all the points and the entire map.

RIGHT now, as I type this. JQ is on their borderland trebbing the bay which is owned by SBI. While they do this, SOS is taking everything to the east. Why would SBI ignore JQ to attack SOS, when JQ will come right behind them to attack? This is a weekly thing. JQ ignoring anything and everything to come after SBI. It’s fine, no complaints. Just dont get upset when we fight back.
What would make MOST sense is for JQ to ignore SBI and attack SOS. As it is, JQ has MINIMAL coverage, so they are an easy target when they buck up and push on SBI.
It’s nothing personal…it’s strategy. Try leading your team against SOS instead of SBI.

I remember when SBI were accusing JQ and SoS of double teaming them, and JQ and SoS started saying how immature it was. Now the same thing is happening here, JQ members are crying about it.

I’m aware this is a small, small group of people. But I think it comes to show that people trying to counter argue double teaming are about as bad as the ones accusing. It’s an endless cycle of crying.

JQ finished 2nd place last week, SBI was third. 2nd and third flip flop every week. Here is what an SoS player said on another forum.

“SBI and JQ was double teaming us for 2-4 hours, so we farmed badges waiting on an someone to side with us, JQ guys just kept attacking us, so we sided up with sbi and wiped JQ off EB with sbi. Next time dont keep attacking sos and sos will help u wipe sbi off the map. Choice is yours. First to side with us wins, or keep double teaming us and we badge farm.”

Obviously JQ was attacking SOS and persistently. Your example about bay makes NO sense whatsoever, because there is always 1 guy trebbing bay from the garrison. You can’t treb hills from the garrison. I already said it is an issue of both JQ and SBI. SBI does it just as much, so don’t try and say it is only a JQ issue.

Your scenario is actually what happened in EB. SBI and SoS spent hours double teaming JQ, once they wiped JQ, SoS proceeded to wipe SBI from JQ lands. SoS still has SM, then had all of JQ and SBI was left with nothing but their own lands, a 2nd place deficit and another week at losing.

If anything you PROVED my point by explaining how it plays into the hands of SoS cause the other two servers are too ignorant or defeated to play it with any logical sense. HoD syndrome, people start playing for 2nd and ignore the correct tactics to actually try and win it themselves.

Continue playing like you’re playing then. Who am I to offer advice or tell you how to play. Good luck to ya.

This is off topic a bit but, I’m not happy about tonight. Not about the territory, that changes like the weather. We all know this to be true. My feelings toward the game have been lessened by interactions of the individuals. Fore the good spirited fun seems to be going out the window. Even in real war, there is nobility and virtue. There are rules of engagement and how to treat one another in combat. All of this seems lost on the youth of today.

Maybe it’s good timing the holidays are on their way. I think people need to get some perspective…. There’s a time honored tradition coming up that I’m looking forward to seeing how the player base handles it in game.

All today I personally have been helping defend SM from SBI. Haven’t even touched JQ once.

WvW is a game of constant push. If there is a lack of resistance, expect the enemy to push into your area. SBI and SoS in EB are constantly pushing and repelling each other. Then when they both test JQ’s side of EB and capture their towers with ease, they’re not going to stop pushing until you’re camped at spawn. That’s how WvW works.

Earlier today SBI and JQ were attacking Wildcreek and Klovan simultaneously and SoS managed to repel them both. Hear us complaining?

Yes there were kids who called JQ, JQQ. And SBI, SBCry. And HoD, House of kittens. 12 year olds are like that.

JQ quit crying. You were easy points on EB and that’s why you were taken. You were wiped out in 40 minutes flat. We actually attacked SBI before that 40 minutes were even up..but unlike JQ….they were ready and able to cover their bases.

i see the new fix as a big improvement, its easier to track the enemy as you can see them coming from a greater distance, i see less of my allies the further they are from me but i would take that over not being able to see the enemy,

before the patch i could see enemies. now im not able to see mobs until after I die. I charged 3 JQ a few minutes ago. Died instantly, THEN 20 more rendered. not unstealthed or ported in. they just appeared.

Same feeling. Now it’s just me in the screen for a short wile before downed and see the enemies and allies.

Though I’ll agree with you the lag issue is unbearable. I first noticed this last night in FotM. It was a horrible experience on multiple levels but, it just wasn’t right. I couldn’t put my finger on it at first. Then I noticed the audio wasn’t working either. If I stopped for a what seemed like 15 seconds, all of a sudden the environmental sounds caught up to me and began playing. Everything is lagging quite badly.

This morning on EB, people weren’t rendering much at all. A floating Commander pin walked right passed me and just kept going. Never rendering the character at all. This wasn’t even in combat. Just walking about the outside of a keep.

The borderlands are a lot of fun this week. I leave EB to the big guilds unless shouts go out for help. All 3 servers face periods of being outmanned on borderlands.

Many times this week I have been able to get into 3 vs 3 style fights and I appreciate the fun, win lose or draw, there are a lot of fine players on the three servers.

I hate the culling issues as much as anyone, but it must be noted that this latest patch is a temporary fix. I’m sure that ANet is tweaking the algorithms used to try and make the best of a bad situation. At least they are trying something rather than doing nothing until the WvW patch comes out.

Been a great weekend so far, some great action side from w/e problems bugs etc there are.
To the SoS warrior of [AGG] that was so persistant in SBI borderlands, nice fighting ya those 20+ times you ran out. Need more ppl like you. To the Mage from [AFK] on SoS…. Alt F4 more please, it makes me giggle. And <3 Cover Girl, you so sneaky Lol

Why is it JQ or SBI has to ‘side’ with SOS at all to wipe the other off the map. SOS dominates because they are simply manipulating JQ and SBI. This has got to stop.

When we go after SOS, SBI either does nothing or goes after us on EB. SBI takes a SOS supply camp or sentry? Come on SBI, even if you want to be number one, I’d suggest doing a lot more effort then that.

Why did we let SOS just come to Tier One and just sit back or act like gods and pick who is number two to them? This is horrible. SOS would be kicked out of T1 if JQ and SBI really went after them in force like we should. It’s HOD all over again.

Finally to any SBI on EB (my favorite battle map) I say this, if JQ is in full force attacking SOS in full force you need to stop attacking JQ and take advantage of the situation. SOS is wide open. You can have all their bases. Yet, your commanders/zergs almost always choose to attack JQ in that situation. You want number one slot or number two forever? You want number one take if from them, not us.

It’s hard to not think that JQ and SoS are teaming up on us (SBI) in EB when I run into situations like the following:

All crossed swords being on SBI territory. (Very frequent. More often than not we are holding out against both JQ and SoS attack forces on either side, and it’s everything we can do to hold on to our own territories, let alone attack anyone else’s)

JQ defending SoS Dolyaks headed into SM when we are trying to keep it supply starved. The JQ killed me, then backed off and let the Dolyak live with 10% life and a single SoS defender. (Happened the other day. Yes, JQ, that whole time we spent “double teaming” you with SoS, we kept up constant treb on SM and kept its walls down.)

SoS trebbing our towers while JQ attacks that very same tower, taking down the walls for JQ.

I know there’s not “an alliance” per say, and maybe it just happens whenever I play, but I do notice a lot of things like this happening. Of course it’s not the whole server, but still… I mean, at least make it a little less obvious, you know? Kill the freaking Dolyaks maybe?

These things are very hard to assess. If I am playing any solo character and not under instructions from SoS commanders or team, I will play through my own eyes.

If this means backing up that ballsy JQ/SBI Ranger who is fighting 3+ from the other side, I may do my best to cut the odds against them before leaving, my call.

This is an mmorpg and I am bound by my own codes. ( dolyaks shall not pass)

You get a situation like this, a few weeks in, and servers show their true colors. The situation in EB was plain to see: SBI was gunning for 2nd, JQ had to accept 3rd. That does not mean SBI isn’t still going for 1st place on the BLs, it just means their strategy on one map in one “shift” gave up trying to knock SoS out of 1st. JQ always goes for 1st, which is why #1 always goes for JQ. If the odd server out goes for JQ, that is the tie-breaker and SBI knows it. They decided the placements during the days of HoD supremacy.

But let’s not label an entire server when certain goals shift. It is a group of their members large enough to have an impact, but they may very well be operating independently of the rest of the server (even the majority). EB is only roughly 30-33% of the map/players in WvW at any given time, and mathematically represent the minority of a server at any given time.

That does not mean SBI isn’t still going for 1st place on the BLs, it just means their strategy on one map in one “shift” gave up trying to knock SoS out of 1st. JQ always goes for 1st, which is why #1 always goes for JQ. If the odd server out goes for JQ, that is the tie-breaker and SBI knows it. They decided the placements during the days of HoD supremacy.

But let’s not label an entire server when certain goals shift. It is a group of their members large enough to have an impact, but they may very well be operating independently of the rest of the server (even the majority). EB is only roughly 30-33% of the map/players in WvW at any given time, and mathematically represent the minority of a server at any given time.

I do not know. Perhaps in a 1v1 setting the big three are roughly even. All three are relatively strong, so I don’t see how its possible to win in a 2 v 1 situation. You say SoS beats jq and sbi but I don’t know if this accurate. From what I observed sos appears to be dominate when sbi is fighting jq and sos at once (this happens way too often in eb). So their forces are split. If JQ and SBI decided to focus SoS, I highly doubt they would appear very strong, the same as if SBI and SoS focused on JQ.

I’m a commander on JQ and I will say we always focus on SoS but if SBI keeps attacking us we will wipe them off the map before dealing with SoS its as simple as that. If you guys want to keep hitting us like that we can focus you more but WvW is about fighting for first not to stay in a tier.

Finally to any SBI on EB (my favorite battle map) I say this, if JQ is in full force attacking SOS in full force you need to stop attacking JQ and take advantage of the situation. SOS is wide open. You can have all their bases.

Besides it’s kind of funny that you have that little confidence in your own commanders that you think they are that easily manipulated.

I have seen this SOS tactic before and I am pointing this out. I have seen both us and SBI get used. Last night is a perfect example. SOS helps SBI take all our stuff down to spawn, then SOS takes our stuff from SBI. Letting SBI do all the work, then stealing their gains for themselves. It happened in the reverse when they let us destroy SBI and tried to take SBI home keep the other week.

If that is not manipulating on EB, I don’t know what else to call it.
