Well, I was restored. They couldn’t even admit that they made a mistake to me in the e-mail notifying me of my account’s changed status. Now it’s, “you’ve been hacked, sorry!” because I can only assume they don’t have a form letter for “sorry we banned you accidentally!”
Well, whatever the case may be, I’m glad it’s over.

Well, my account got Terminated because of a Fraud that purchase a serial key from their website ._. seriously? you let people like that slip away? >_< I mean, you don’t have any idea who are the people buying from you ? It really sucks because i’ve been playing since the Three Days Access and i can’t believe that my account got TERMINATED . I bought my account from a legitimate retail store here in the Philippines and look BOOM. My account is gone. If they don’t solve my case. I’m going to say Goodbye to Guildwars2 soon

Got banned yesterday evening (GMT+1 timezone) for botting.
I was farming with 2 guildies in Cursed Shore. One of them got banned too. He was farming for his T3 cultural norn armor, I wanted abyss dye for my main and some spare cash to be ready for Lost Shores event.
I submitted a ticket right away. [Incident: 121112-002881]
Guess farming is what bots do too, but I have three level 80 characters with exotic gear on the account (plus two lvl 32-33), 100 % map completion, a decent number of WvW kills and pvp rank, Master Crafter title, bank contains plenty of karma jugs, mystic coins and dungeon tokens, etc…Did all (but one) jumping puzzles and currently at over 2.700 achievement points. Don’t think bots have all that.
I’d never bot nor run macros, not even knowledgeable enough to do it. I love the game and I’ve invested quite a lot of time in the account…really hoping someone will look into this and it will get restored as soon as possible. Thanks.

That’s gonna take you some time, leawen. very sad to here that. There timing of banning people is really terrible. The lost shores update is coming, then you’re gonna make a mistake by banning innocent people ? What do you want us to feel ? Terrible ?

Hello, i have a response after 3 days. I’m still waiting for my account to be recovered, but i’m sure they are working hard.
They also said it’s very busy times so my best suggestion is to be patient and DON’T double post.

Banned wrongfully at around 21h50 CET (Central European Time) yesterday for “botting”, submitted a ticket almost immediately after it happened, still no response of any sort from customer service. Should I start to worry? Like the rest of you, I’m really worried about missing that Lost Shores update because of this…and I do feel terrible…

I have been banned for about 24 hours and have yet to get a response to my ticket. I have come to believe that people are getting randomly banned around the dragon events. I was with 3 guildies in frostgorge waiting for jormag when we got banned for botting. I genuinely hope they are able to resolve these issues before the lost shores event as missing that event would be very frustrating to those of us who are wrongfully banned for botting.
Same happend allso to me at the dragon event

Sigh…Anet telling me my account is restored only to find out its still blocked just sucks….i was doing so well trying just to be calm and patient. Then they say your unbanned and my emotions sky rocket and fully excited to play again and just happy in general. then i find myself right back at phase 1 of being banned from the game. = /

i am wondering how many actual boots got ban with all of us… i was baned around 1-2 hours after reporting 3 boots underwater in jormag map. then i went for a dragon. after event i took a break for dinner, when i tried to come back into game – my account was terminated already. CLAP CLAP CLAP for CS shows professionalism on highest level… couple months ago i wouldnt care, prolly just gave up on the game that doesn’t won’t me, but now, after surgery when i am tight to bed for longer time….that was one of few possibilities to escape from reality for me. thank’s for taking it away.
Good product contaminated by bad cutomer service…. how often we see that?
I was ban at Breaktooth’s Waypoint when I try to get fang and only me at that area.
I think the banning system is malfunction.
It is really ridiculous .

Seems to me that people wrongfully banned for botting are slowly getting their accounts restored, however everyone with the fraud issue seems to be stuck forever… In the last almost 20 pages only 1 person posted that his fraud issue got solved ? What’s going on ..
i got my account banned for botting,and i’m playing this game only about 2-3 hours per day for 6 days. never use any bot. i’m hoping my account can be helped

It always shows a reason when you try logging in. Does it show banned due to an account issue ?

that error code is botting reason, i have same problem as you, submit ticket if u dont bot or using 3rd program.
I hope they can fix their false banned and restore our account before new event release. its really suck when we got false banned near event time come out.

There is a phone number for NCSoft office in Texas (parent company to ArenaNet) it is (512) 225-6359 All they will tell you is that “If you made a ticket then it’s in queue to be resolved soon.” I have been waiting for this to be resolved since 11/09/12. I have already filed a complaint with the better business bureau in Austin, Texas to get my money back. GW2 is a game for me, not a life style or anything that really matters. Simply put: If I cannot play the game then I must have a refund for the services not provided by the Terms of Use according to the obscene rules and regulations from this company. So go do your diligent duty and search for the b b b and file your complaint with an official agency and get your money back, then you can decide if you will spend it on a new account or buy a full tank of gas instead… I go with a carton of smokes myself, hence the smokes don’t band me wrongfully.

I honestly don’t see the issue with this. I poked fun out of a gold farmer, now my account is gone. Just check the chat logs, it’s honestly not that hard. I have never seen such incompetent tech support. It looks like they’re content to sit and laugh at our problems. I want my character back, and so do many others. In short, Anet, I am disappoint.

i just want to ask you guys why my account got terminated by selling gold for real world money, as you can see my account only got 11 golds and im not selling flooding or advertising the map chat for selling gold thru real money, you can just check my account logs that im just playing spvp always and im rarely farming and all my stuffs that i gather thru daily resources like oris, omnomberries, orean saplings i just sell it thru the trading post. please help me cos i didnt break any policies of a.net and im just here to enjoy the game. thank you and hoping for your reply.

This is exactly the same reason i got banned for. I’ve been farming Cursed Shore for weeks 12 – 16 hours per day, with a culture set worth 110 Gold.
100% completion, 250 Ecto’s and much, much more. Than 3 days ago when i woke up, it said I got permanent banned for botting.
I’m telling you that they were this close of giving me a heart attack. The most disrespectful behavior i’ve ever seen in my life.
Now i know that there is something really fishy going on. And i got a strong feeling it wasn’t even Anet, but the botters or a specific person who readed something via chat logs, spying on people.
If it was done automate through the number of reports, than i suggest better talk to people of who you think is a bot, instead of sweeping Penti and Shelters while taking innocent people with it.

This thread is not the official support thread. You will have to send in a ticket to get your issue solved. They don’t take care of in-game issues here on the forum.

They won’t delete your characters unless it was hacked. I know how you feel and it sucks. All you can do is make a calm ticket (Not like me) and wait for them to respont. Mine took 3 days, and still waiting for it to be recovered.

I have to admit, though I know there are some people protesting their innocence in this thread who are completely guilty there have been enough accounts restored that I worry.
In fact, My ranger is almost level 70 but I’m not sure I want to take her into the farming areas to get her to 80 until after this all settles down for fear of getting falsely banned because I was near a group of botters.

lol now my penalty is due to botting this is weird how can i bot inside spvp matches. im not even using macros. i only used gamebooster for my game to run smooth. seriously a.net must be joking or finding some excuses.
You know how ANet is claiming the bans aren’t coming from an automated system?
Please read this thread and try to justify that statement.
Unless either the entire 38 page thread is lying. Which is HIGHLY unlikely.
Or those people in charge of banning so-called bots should all be fired and replaced. Because it’s pretty obvious they’re bad at their jobs.

I have to admit I’m a little worried about what’s to come. I too was also falsely accused and was hit by the bot ban wave on Saturday (11/10). I worries me to see that just a few hours ago days later people are still getting banned. Who’s to know that this sort of thing won’t happen again once we get our accounts back. I was thinking of buying some gems from the GW2 store but now have some serious doubts and don’t really feel secure / safe giving ArenaNet anymore of my hard earned money.

Squall it took me slightly more than 3 days for a response. I had to fill some information, and my login status changed.
They are still recovering my account, but at least i don’t see the message of permanent banned for botting anymore, which scared the crap out of me.

However what initially started of as a ban for “inappropriate behaviour” then changed to “botting” has now been changed to “hacked”, yet nothing was taken from my account and I’m still in the same spot I was when I was banned. Don’t get me wrong though I am more than happy to have gotten my account back but it’s obvious that I wasn’t hacked my password was very strong, unique and different to my e-mail one and I also got no notifications that anyone was trying to access my account from a different IP, in light of this what prevents them from banning me again? I am afraid of going to Orr right now.

What’s also interesting is, in a different thread Gaile mentioned that “innocent people are not often get caught in the bot net” and that we have “[met] a series of parameters that determine [we] were botting.”
Judging by the majority of the posts here, it would be to my understanding that either A). those parameters are far too board
B). the “parameters” really are nothing more then a random scan regardless of what arenanet wants to tell us and the system is either poorly coded or broken.
In either sense, the point remains the same. People days after the initial incident are still being banned which means nothing is being done to remedy the initial cause, and it saddens me to say, but it looks like there are going to be a lot more bans before anything is actually done.

I have question is anybody here was rebanned? I mean not because of CC problems I know there are rebans in this case but those who was just playing the game and was accused of botting and permabanned beause of that. I am asking because I also do not know what to do. Play or wait for expansion.

Glad to see one of the more active people in this topic to be unbanned. Still am waiting for help on my ticket regarding my “fraud” when directly buying off the official site. Very close to my 1 week ban now. And I’ve had the game only 2-3 days longer than that. xD;

But I do think they are trying to get to all of the tickets with a three day turn-around which hopefully bodes well for me because I will hit the 72 hr mark at about 2-3:00pm PST today at which time I will post in the other 72hr thread. I don’t know what order the tickets are being done in but yesterday someone got their account back after 12hours of being banned. I had to wait 3 days and so far I have seen the average amount of time is 2-4 days, for the “botting” issue anyway.
