Hello,
I have written a message to support 3 days ago and did not get any response. My ticket number is 774294. I didn’t adress my problem very well, but basically, when I try to link my GW1 and GW2 accounts my display name gets bugged out and the site stops working. However once i press Log Out everything comes back to normal, but still, the accounts don’t get linked :/

Please read the thread I linked on Tuesday and follow the instructions about writing from a different email address as a temporary means to reach us. I really believe your support responses are simply being filtered and we cannot amend that on our end.
762211 – I am looking into this to ascertain if this is a known issue and how we can handle such issues.

I suggest he read the sticky post at the top of this sub-forum, because the team is sending responses, and he clearly is not receiving them. Sorry I can’t help more, but he might consider the option of using a different ISP to contact us, being prepared to verify ownership, of course.

I think Gaile means email address. Try using a different email address if the first one isn’t getting the responses. Usually means there is a block, and Anet cannot get past it.

Hello My name is Heather Wood,
I bought guild wars 2 when it came out. I bought it online and I downloaded it to my laptop and I want to play it on my main computer. The game knows my password and username for only my laptop, so it logs me in without me doing anything but if I try logging in on my main computer I can’t seem to know my password to change it. I wrote down my password which was 9 characters, though it has a password of 8. I tried multiple passwords I use and none of them work. I only have two passwords I use but sometimes I capitalize the first letter and/or use a number at the end. When I try to reset my password it tells me to use the serial code, and I can’t find the serial code via e-mail it might’ve been deleted when my e-mail switched to outlook from hotmail/live. My e-mail is *********@live.com. I have my Display Name for the account which is freyaicyian.8192
I also have my card number from which I bought the game from, hwever the last four numbers might have change from getting a new card recently. All I ask is if there’s some way to change my password so I can download the game on my main computer and not have to play it only on my laptop or re-buy it again. I hope you can help me.

If your password is saved to access the forums, then you can retrieve it from your browser using your browser’s tools. You should remove the personal information from your post.

Remember when trying to access the game, that it needs you to enter your Account Name (email address associated with the game) and password.

If you continue to have issues gaining access, you can submit a request to CS by clicking Services/Support at the top of this page. You would only post your ticket number in this thread for a review after 72 hours.

Hello, my ticket is #781594 and currently I’m being aided by a GM who has received my ticket from a previous person of the support team because it required more investigation.

My current issue is that my hacker knows my GW2 access key and is using it to grab my account from me and steal my items. I know this because my first and previous email address (which is still compromised) has an email in it with my GW2 access key on it. I am still trying to contact the Yahoo Support Team to grab control of my previous email and delete it. But the damage has been done and my hacker knows my GW2 access key, how else would that hacker hijacked my account?

My current email is not known by anyone besides family, I have not used it for anything besides GW2, it has second sign-in verification (meaning even if my password is known, a code that Yahoo sends to my cell phone is needed at every login attempt), and I have the email authenticator enabled for my GW2 account. All of that was bypassed since my hacker knows my GW2 access key.

The GM attending me believes that my current email address is compromised. I sent him a screenshot of all recorded login attempts on my email (which are all of me, my IP address, etc). The morning I found out I was hacked I’ve scanned my entire computer three times and nothing came up.

I can switch emails, continue to change my passwords to 30-32 long character phrases with different capitalization and numbers, and can continue to switch emails every time I get hacked -_-.. but it won’t stop until the issue I mentioned on my first paragraph until it is resolved. My known GW2 access key is the problem I need help with.

This person is just waiting for me to grab my account back, fill it up with loot again, and then steal it and drain it.. I need help. I already used up my first roll back and now this happens.. this could happen multiple times no matter how many times I switch emails because hijacking my account no longer requires my passwords, my cell phone, or access to my email.

I’ve provided the last 4 digits of the credit card used to prepurchase my GW2 account, the name of the credit card used, the method of payment, the details needed of my account accessories and I can provide ALOT more, my GW1 access key, and I provided my GW2 access key to the support team member. My hacker only knows my GW2 access key and yet was able to grab it from me with just that bit of information. I can even go a step further and take physical photos of my GW1 boxes (the Trilogy edition and my first box of Guild Wars: Prophecies) as evidence that I’m the real owner. I prepurchased GW2 so I do not have a physical box, but from the beginning I always had my GW1 account linked so that should be enough evidence.

No, I mean E-mail provider (sometimes but no always associated with one’s ISP, so I should have used that term). Using Name#1@Yahoo.com and then switching to Name#2@Yahoo.com does not solve the problem. Using a different e-mail provider is the step to take.

My brothers ticket is taking ages, he got a generic response saying that his account was banned indefinitely! He asked for proof as he was farming t6 mats in cursed shore which I was helping him with as I’m on summer holidays and could play for long periods. the support accepted his request, and after few days he got email changed, but he need to wait for agent to contact him about his request for acc recovery. and its been a week that he still doesnt got reply about his acc recovery process and when he tried to log on, he said his acc got banned while he said, he never logged on to the game after he sent the ticket.

Greetings it’s day 3 and I still can’t access either my guild wars 1 or my guild wars 2 as a linked account. My case numbers are 803451 and with Guild wars 1 64269.

I am trying to link accounts but I have forgotten my guild wars 1 password. They haven’t gotten back to me on guild wars 1 past a general information post. I finally got fed up waiting for that and made this account so that I could at least do newbie stuff for a bit (since I took vacation to enjoy guild wars 2) but I really want to claim my original name which I need to link accounts for which brings me to my problem…

Under link accounts when I type in my original email and click forgotten password it keeps trying to help me remember this accounts password not the password I need to link accounts. Can there be some kind of fix to that?

Sorry if this seems like a junk post but my vacations mostly over now and I’m still waiting for a password to my Guild wars 1 account so I can enjoy Guild wars 2 and get my bonuses.

P.S. the guild wars 1 reset button just takes you to a static knowledge base screen where you can request support via email but there is no reset outside of a full help desk request that I can find.

Recently my boyfriend and I wanted to get back into playing Guild Wars 2 again, but he was unable to remember his password. When he attempted to recover his password, the recovery email was set to a lavabit account. Lavabit unfortunately was shut down by the owners, and he no longer has access to that email account. After submitting a support ticket with both the paypal information as well as multiple pieces of relevant information regarding the account, support informed him that they were not willing to restore access to his account. He has spent a fair amount of money on gems, and we would both be very disappointed if he could not gain access back to his account.
