This just hit me tonight, was not a problem last night.

Windows 10 Educational (64-bit version installed)
Client is 32-bit

Seems to only affect my general settings.

Well, I wasn’t experiencing this problem.

This latest patch (build 56,395) has broken it for me now as well. Thanks.

All fields on the ‘General Options’ tab are reset to default upon loading into the character select screen. Same as the other people who had the problem before this patch.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
GW2: 32-bit client

EDIT:
Inventory options have also been reset.

• Hide Rarity
• Hide new Item Highlights
• Hide Bags

All reset as well.

Window positions remained as I had them previously set though.

Attempting to replace the newly downloaded Local.dat file with a backup made prior to downloading this patch causes a new file to download, resulting in everything resetting again.

+1 Getting me too now, since last patch. Please fix.

Ugh same, win 7 64 bit, 32 bit client, only started today.

happened to me like 5 times already, very annoying.

Happened to me 3 times now, and it is starting to get annoying.

Windows 10 and my wife’s computer with Windows 8.1. We both have same problems. Settings getting reset everytime we login.

Fix please….along with my inventory size being reset everytime I log (which has been there for a while)

Happened from beginning, still happening.

My general settings and inventory settings get completely wiped out every time I swap characters or log.

Reseted after this update, dec. 17th 00:34 according to forum.

I logged in on my partners laptop, after this it started for me… didn’t have it before. I’d say it’s the client that might be bugged.

I got my reset today, I got 64-bit Windows 10 version 1511 (build 10586.29) and the game client I run on is also 64-bit one. I downloaded update this morning and the general options reset after that.

Also, I am not sure if this is related or not but my achievement watch list also was emptied by this patch.

same here. resetting game options everytime i log in. 64 bit game client.

I doubt it depends on the client.
I have 2 accounts (1 NA, 1 EU) that I play on the same client.
At first I thought, it’s just the EU account that is affected, but I now also had an option reset on my NA account after login. (yes, achievement watch list resets, too)

It’s random.

Anyway, this is seriously annoying, especially when often switching between accounts on the same computer.

Why does it happen so often that patches hit seemingly unrelated parts of the game?
Lacking review when pulling changes into trunk/release branch or messy code that makes it hard to predict which parts of the game are affected by a change?

I find a workaround that 100% work.

The issue lie when you log-out directly from the game bypassing the launcher, it wont save the settings, however if you simply log-out to the launcher and only after close the launcher this issue don’t happen.

Yes, you have to perform a useless passage but for now is a good workaround to avoid losing your settings.

I have this bug as well. Very annoying.
I’m using 32bit client.

Windows 7 both 32bit and 64bit client on two accounts, one account with HoT and one account without HoT.
Also this bug keep reseting my inventory bag to show them and removing all achievements from Watch List.

Windows 10 x64 with x32 and x64 Client, I can confirm Miporin’s workaround works, and that you have to do it every time

side note, I deleted my local.dat and the new one was ~10mb while just exiting the game, as soon as I “logged out” to the launcher, the local.dat jumped to ~20mb

same here, settings reset to default every restart.

Just had the bug aswell:

Option that reset were all in the general option tab, graphics and keybinds are fine.

Gw2 – 64 bit beta client

Windows 7, 64 bit, 64 bit launcher.

Windows 8.1 x64, 64bit client, command line options to auto login, mastery maxed so have the autoloot.

same issue. I got options and inventory options resetted every time i log in.
i’m using 64 bit client and win 10 Pro 64 bit.

64bit Windows 10 using both 64bit and 32bit client.

same options reset problem here. also any materials i farm go to unclaimed loot even though i have plenty of space in inventory as well as autoloot not working. next issue is any achievements i have set to display are unset upon logging on. lots of bugs this time.

We started seeing this yesterday, some people were fixed with the hotfix but not everyone. We are currently investigating the issue and trying to isolate what makes some accounts different from others. A bug has been opened and I"m linking this thread in there, so if people could post their OS and which client they are using and any other information you think might help we’d appreciate it!

Windows 10, 64-bit client. Options persist character switch, but don’t seem to though re-log.

Same issue. Mac client, OS 10.10.1

Resets all of the following to default:
Field of view
Vertical position near & far
AoE loot on interact
Autoloot: autopickup
Enable first person camera
Adjust camera to character height
In game clocked is turned off

It happened first after Tuesday’s patch, then seemed better yesterday (I logged in and out several times), and now everything has reset to defaults again when I logged in today.

still broken after last night’s “patch”. Closed game, opened new game, logged in, options reset… the key to disaster is closing the game completely :o

Luckily it seems to affect only General Options, otherwise it would be a real pain to set all keybinds and stuff again… still annoying though. Ah yes, I also was affected and it seems it affects Achievement Watch List too. Last night after logging in again my Watch List was blank and some of my preferences like Simple Party UI had reseted.

Started with Wintersday patch. General Options and Achievement Watch List reset after closing client but not when swapping characters. Tried starting a fresh local.dat after a suggestion in chat, but that didn’t change it.

Having different resets on different characters. One character has had almost all of the general options changed, another has only had the general and camera options changed. I’m on Windows 10 pro, using the 64bit client.

Edit: started happening on other characters.

Here’s one more note on this: It doesn’t reset ALL of my settings… only the first tab (General Options). The other tabs remember my settings just fine.

I am using Windows 10 and have the 64bit client and also the 32 bit client and seceral of my options are resetting everytime I log back in, its getting really annoying, PLease fix it as soon as you can

The color favorites in the heroes “Dyes” section are reset as well.
As is the personal watch list of Achievements.

Please fix asap, its annoying as hell.
