The developers are aware of this issue and have confirmed it to be a bug. I have refunded your recent purchases of 2 Total Makeover Kits (700 gems). These gems should show on your account the next time you login. I know this will not resolve the glow issue for you just yet, but it will allow for you to purchase another kit once the issue is confirmed to have been fixed by the developers.

Please be aware the bug which caused you to lose your glow is still active, but we are working to get the fix for that in an upcoming update. When the bug is fixed, you’ll be able to use a kit to fix your character. Until then, keep an eye on the news forums as that is where we post the patch notes every patch.

1) Still no ETA on a fix for the glow bug; just an “upcoming update.”
2) Yes, a Makeover Kit will be required to get our glow back once the bug is fixed (it won’t just automatically come back).

And if you have your glow broken by a hair kit, they are only refunding the cost of the hair kit, not a makeover kit that it will take to fix it. so you will be out 100 gems once they do have the bug resolved. be forewarned.

that’s exactly what I meant with unfair.. because I never intended to buy a total kit and that way I will be forced to spend more money than I wanted due to this bug.. Which is why I think we should get this for free. It wasnt our fault that ours sylvaris are all broken now..

I don’t have an ETA for when the fix will go live, but we do have one in the works that’s running through testing right now. As mentioned earlier in the thread, if you have purchased a makeover kit and been hit by this bug, please open a ticket with support and they will work with you to refund your gems. He said there is a fix but it is going through testing. Hopefully it passes!! How long does testing take? Will you keep us updated such as : the fix works will be patched this week or even if the fix does not work?

Saw the game update notice and got super excited….no content updates though…boo sad glowless sylvari

My sylvari is also still glow-less, but I still haven’t gotten an answer for a ticket I opened a while ago. So I guess I’ll have to pay more for this bug :/ I hope they fix it soon, my sylvari needs her glow!

On the Sylvari, I have tried to change the Body Features > Skin Pattern > Glow Intensity modifier and it never takes. The ability to change it is available indicated by the slider being maneuverable.

When selecting another feature to modify, whether the feature is located in Body Features, Head Options, or Face Details, the slide bar always reverts back to the far left indicating that the previous changes made are not kept.

Wait, what? What do you mean “Thanks for pointing this out! Now that we are aware of this issue”? I posted a bug on this way before 30 January.
Perhaps I should say “thank YOU for finally checking the forums”. Sheesh. All that time waiting for a fix and you only just bothered to read any posts on it?

Thing to note Mr “only affects sylvari created with 0 setting” I can ASSURE you that you are incorrect.
My Sylvari had a MAX setting up until I was stupid enough to use your makeover kit.

Am I angry? Yes, a bit. But moreso because of the wasted time waiting for a fix they weren’t even working on than anything else.

19 February patch and No Fix. I just checked.

Here is some useful info for others though, since I don’t want to simply rant.
The way to check and see if you will be affected is to use the kit, go to skin pattern and set the slider to desire level.
Change to another tab such as physique and switch back to skin pattern.
If that slider is not where you left it (it moves to minimum for example) do NOT apply or you WILL lose your glow at nights.

Wait, the hair stylist kits can remove your glow too? I’ve been using my permanent hair stylist kit like candy T__T

I will be so happy when the fix for this is put on live. Less unsuspecting people running into the bug and support won’t have to worry about crediting all the refunds.

you can submit a ticket under refunds to get it refunded. The issue itself is not fixed so
hold off using another kit until it is (hopefully it will be with the 2/26 update though no eta has been offered)

Hello, bumping this thread on behalf of a family member.

She purchased the total make-over kit (after initially purchasing the hair one, not realising the glow is a total-only feature, you might want to add glow to the hair restyle kit), and reports her character’s glow completely stopped working as well. I was able to personally verify that it was indeed not working, while other Sylvari characters next to her character had their glow working just fine.

Well hopefully your family member will get her glow back soon. We are all anxiously awaiting the fix. Hopefully the fix is passing the testing it is going through.

I wish we could get the fix patched in a content update before 2/26…seems this keeps happening to people. Not everyone reads the forums. send in a support ticket..use refunds as your drop down and they should refund you fairly quick.

Yes as far as anyone has reported it only affects female.

Ah, thanks. Everywhere I’ve looked, including the wiki, just says “sylvari lose their glow” rather than anything about it only being females. Well, that makes me happier, though I hope you lovely plant-ettes get this fixed soon.

You never received the kit inyour in game mail? Make sure your mail is not full…even if it says it is not full try deleting a few. You should receive it then.

That’s great.
I still hope they are working on a solution for a fair treatment of the money issue. Because: if I have to buy a Total Makeover Kit to fix the glow, I would pay 150 gems more than originally intended (my glow was lost by using the reduced hair kit for 200 gems) – which would be more than frustrating.
