I apologize for my tone in the last post I made. It wasn’t necessary of me to be so hostile and I apologize to those I was rude to. However, I do still feel that the game is in some way unstable. It’s always a possibility that my computer can’t handle the game, but I believe I already mentioned that it had been running fine for nearly a month until very recently when many others began to experience the same issue.
Here are a few links to other threads that have popped up recently related to similar problems.

It isn’t just me and we, the consumers, would like at the very least an explanation if not a fix for the matter.
I don’t expect immediate action as this is a video game not a severed limb. But I have payed for this game as have the rest of the community and I believe we deserve some info about the sudden increase in instabilities.

SpellOfIniquity, you should read some of those threads…. Two of them might be hardware and driver issues……..

And your problem is a hardware issue.

Using a laptop hd 3000 which is at or below the minimum specs…

How many times do I have to say; it was working fine for a month with no trouble what-so-ever. Nothing else on my system has had any sort of decline in quality.
Unless I have an actual professional and not some random highschool know-it-all diagnose my specs, I’ll continue to speculate toward it being a game related issue.

Note that I say speculate and not blame. So unless someone thinks they can solve this for me, stop saying “it’s your computer” ‘cause it doesn’t fix anything.

‘Due to potential changes, system requirements may change over time, and you may be required to upgrade your current system (or obtain a new system) to continue to play the game.’

…from System Requirements

Perhaps, some of the improvements they have made to the game has rendered your not-up-to-minimum specifications hardware unviable at this time.

That’s a good point. However, it would have been nicer if Anet were to make us aware of upcoming increasing hardware demands before a patch comes that may decrease performance.

How many times do I have to say; it was working fine for a month with no trouble what-so-ever. Nothing else on my system has had any sort of decline in quality.

The game have a bunch of performance updates such as culling. The holiday patch might increase performance requirements like last year.

Yep, this game ran alot faster upon release than now, but anet added fixes to culling which increased gpu requirements. Quite frankly most people’s problem is that the gpu is under utilized and cpu is extremely bottleneck which is not your problem.

Unless I have an actual professional and not some random highschool know-it-all diagnose my specs, I’ll continue to speculate toward it being a game related issue.

Some of us build our own desktop. If we cannot diagnose your specs base on the hardware and etc. We will make very expensive decisions like replacing the entire system. Besides, It doesnt take a professional to know that you were barely meeting minimum specs

Note that I say speculate and not blame. So unless someone thinks they can solve this for me, stop saying “it’s your computer” ‘cause it doesn’t fix anything.

Your hardware is too slow from the start. In fact, your hardware probably doesnt support Direct X11

https://communities.intel.com/message/196066

You made an uninformed purchase. We cannot magically make your hardware faster and fix your problem.

tld:dr I am blunt and your IGPU is too slow

Whatever your issue is, the threads you are linking to are not the same. FPS is not the same as latency or lag. FPS issues happens when your computer can’t keep up. Whether that’s due to the game being poorly optimized or your computer being bad, that I will leave alone. Latency/Lag issues is when the internet connection can’t keep up. Things will appear to stand still, jump around or be inconsistent because there not coming enough data through to show you exactly what is happening around you. This can again be both due to ArenaNet’s servers being unable to keep up and your own internet connection. When it’s ArenaNet’s servers you will see skill lag, as described in one of the threads you linked to.

Before claiming the game is unstable, you really need to figure out what it is you are complaining about. You’re mixing different things up.

With respect OP.
Many system builders who help on forums such as this and mroe commonly on ofrum sites like OverClock.net, know more about computers than these ‘professionals’ that u can take ur computer to in a store.

Just to give u an idea. I recently asked Asus a question in regards to G-Sync and their up coming 39" 4k monitor, was bassicaly a question on will it have it or not when released. I wont bother explaining what they are if u dont know, but the point is… the person who responded to me, from their tech department, started spouting nonsense about how the Monitor comes with a onboard GTX 780, or other Intel AMD or Nvidia card, and that some of those cards dont support G-Sync along with some other gobbledegoop.
Needless to say everything that was said might as well have been “hkjhgmnbdfbekvndgwe” becouse it made 0 sense.
I responded explaining everything like i would on a forum like this. and eventually got a proper response.

So the point ? Just becouse they have a job as a tech person ..a professional… means jack kitten nowerdays. yor likely to find more experianced people on tech forums and get more detailed resposnes, than going to a ‘profesisonal’.

*Note: please dont take this 1 experience with Asus as a sign of Asus’s support staff, the issue was resolved, and i have had perfectly fine interaction with them in the past, this was just the most recent and relevant example of such an inncident.

to be fair, asus support is notoriously bad and many tech professionals dont bother keeping up with marketing terms

Your Laptop/Desktop or whatever is a old PoS.

i3 Dual core – Below recommended specs (you need a quad to properly play this game today)
HD3000 GMA – Well below Recommended specs (you NEED a dedicated card to properly play this game. Intel’s GPUS are garbage and just should never be considered for gaming at all.)

If your on a laptop, your pretty screwed and made a poor purchase. You can get a HP DV6 laptop with a Llano APU CPU and a Discrete HD7690M for $350 on ebay that would out perform your current Laptop 200% easily (Mine gets 75FPS everywhere but WvW where I get low Teens in Zergs and 35FPS near the Keeps).

If your on a desktop, Bite the Bullet and upgrade that CPU to a i5, and install a PCI-E Dedicated Video card (AMD has a nice 7790 for about $119 – Still think this is the best bang for the buck right now)

But, standing on your soap box complaining and making demands is not going to do anything but make you look like a ashat. Your system is weak, you should be glad it can EVEN load and launch GW2 at all. If you want more, you need to replace/upgrade.

Really, that is the end of this story.

OP should have enough cpu power to run the game smoothly. You dont really need a quad core for this game.

The OP IGPU is just terrible

you dont ‘need’ a quad to run the game. But this application is so poorly designed. might as well make it a requirement.
