Last file goes to 0kb/s and doesn’t finish. No matter how many times I reset the client

I repaired the game, didn’t work.
I reinstalled the game, didn’t work.
I changed the language from English to French (waited to download) changed back to English still had 1 file remaining.
I also tried -assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80 (this didn’t work, didn’t launch the game), -assetsrv 151.249.90.138:80 (this launched the game but 1 file remaining)
Though it might be a connection problem because it started downloading with 1kb so I tried cmd: ipconfig /flushdns
I did try to go to Documents and find local.dat but I cant find it.
So what can I do? I cant play the game because of the constant download that makes me lag.

But in this case, try logging in and click play. The game will be launchable, cuz the patching is pass “Playable” point.
Edit: Might I ask where are you playing from? is this SEA area problem again?

Trying to patch and the download speed is in the realm of 10-20 kb/s, this is a significant difference from the several hundred kb/s in the past.
There are no issues with any other overseas servers that I have ran speed / download tests on at the moment.

Now I am having the same issue as other players where I hit a particular file and it drops to 0 kb/s.
A mod can archive these posts or merge them if they want into an existing thread.

As my hard-drive died I had to reinstal gw2 as well. And just the same after downloading everything up till the last file at a speed of 2 to 3 mb/s, it drops to 0 mb/s at the very last file. I have tried several things as well but nothing seems to help. This is also the second time I’m downloading it, uninterrupted, the first time I had paused it once (I read somewhere downloading uninterrupted could work).

Have been looking all over for a solution but every possible one I come across does not work. I wonder what causes this last file to be such a pain and hope it can be fixed at some point, it’s been known to happen (or at least similar problems) since the launch of the game. But sadly no consistent solution for this problem.

UPDATE: found the local.dat file deleted it, restarted my pc, opend the game 1 file remaining still.

I used this that an Anet Admin posted and worked for me, I used the 151 IP, because the first one didn’t patched the launcher.
“If you are still having problems, try adding this to your GW2 Shortcut Target:
-assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80
If that doesn’t work, try
-assetsrv 151.249.90.138:80
You can do this by right clicking on your GW2 Shortcut and adding the above text to your Target field. For example your target should look like this:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80
Let me know if that works”

i used -assetsrv with the 151 ip and worked for me, i think there is a page with all the ips. Look it and try a couple more.

I’ve tried several of the IP’s from http://gw2status.de but to no avail. What I did find out however is that I can also play the whole game regardless of the single yet to be downloaded file. Still, a solution for this would be nice.

So I have scoured the internet for hours trying to find solutions to my issue. I am… (read: was) going to try to get back into Guild Wars 2 in anticipation for the expansion pack, so I started the download again…
To my surprise, I am now stuck download 1 file remaining… for what could be described as forever. I have tried some of the “-asset” shortcut changes that I read about on the forums, but have still been unable to get any to work in downloading the 1 file that is apparently remaining.
What is concerning to me, is that it appears this issue has been cropping up a few other times with no -real- fix listed…
Here is to hoping someone can guide me in the right direction!

I finished patching recently and I encountered the problem that many seem to be having, being stuck on the very last file.
I’ve tried connecting to all the asset servers suggested, I’ve tried rebooting, I’ve tried switching languages, but nothing seems to fix the issue.
Is Anet aware of this issue? Is there a guaranteed fix?

I just tried both of those options with negative results. I submitted a ticket, and was advised to conduct a netsh winsock reset, which I also did, restarted my computer, and the “1 File Remaining” still remains, and it proceeded to download forever…
Any other ideas?

I am not playing in SEA btw, I am in NA East Coast, (Delaware) with Verizon FiOS as my ISP. Still waiting for a fix… My wife also downloaded the game on her computer because she wanted to get into it with the new Expansion coming out, and her computer is also stuck at the 1 File Remaining.

I recently had to get a new hard drive set it up and attempted to try and install my client but for some reason no matter what I do no matter what I follow online nothing is working its still stuck at 99% and with 1 file remaining I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this I am really getting upset over this and no one seems to know anything I have tried everything I can think of and everything thats online. Tried the repair tried the assetsvr thing tried .dat file delete and all.

UPDATE: The guys @ support told me to start the launcher let it download and when it can’t physically download anymore close it and repeat.

UPDATE: I was advised to find GW2Setup.exe and rename it to GW2.exe and then run it as an admin. Apparently this will force a download from a different source, and see if that new source completes the download without 1 file remaining.
This rename/run will download the ENTIRE game all over again though, and I do not have the time available to conduct this course of action at this time. Unless someone else wants to check it out, it’ll have to wait until tonight when I get home from work.

Have a friend with the same problem. Tried every listed solution but still nothing will help. Reinstalling, adding stuff to target, changing languages, and absolutely nothing. Still stuck at 1 file that never downloads.
I myself have the game downloaded and its running fine, oddly enough, and we’re on the same ISP and on the same router.

I got the same problem, haven’t found a proper fix but if you select a different language you can start playing at “playable” but i don’t understand any text in-game but atleast it lets me play.

I cannot play it while it tries to download I have a Cap on my data (Dumb Comcast) so it would be doubling my Data by letting it tap at the internet while I played for a little while.

Except its not stopping anyone from doing anything, there is no negative effect to not having this single file, its simply a quirk some people have knowing its always there. Actual normal patching itself downloaded fine, but that last file never downloads, and oh well its not doing anything negative to impact my game experience.
I’m not saying its fine that this I assume “bug” exists (its not,) I’m just saying people are freaking out over nothing.

After 6 hours, I just redownloaded all 22gb of Guild Wars 2. I’m on capped internet too, OUCH! (Only reason I tried this is because it’s near end of the month…)
Still stuck at 99%, 1 file left. Mostly 0 KB/sec, but sometimes it goes up then goes down. It’s really weird.
I hope it’s not auto downloading crap I don’t need, and wasting brandwidth?
edit: I set content streaming to On Demand, yet it still managed to download 10mb within a matter of SECONDS loading into Southsun Cove.
This is ridiculous. GW2 is unplayable like this.
edit: 2 minutes. It did 20mb.
The implications of this are horrorfying, and if I wasn’t vigilant about usage, I would probably be charged $200+ dollars in overcharge fees. Make no mistake, I am infuriated.
FIX THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
