We are aware of an issue with passwords, where the player is getting disconnected and then received an “incorrect password” message. Some players see this error message: 11:1000:7006:743:101

This afternoon I changed my password, just a routine monthly cycle. Now twice while playing this evening I was disconnected with the error “Invalid Password” and completely booted from the game (I did not think to write down the error code, sorry). Logging back in worked fine, with the new password.
There is seemingly no suspicious activity, only my connection showing up on the security tab, and no login attempt emails.

I’m relatively certain my account is secure, it is just frustrating to get booted from the game every hour.

I am fairly sure it does not have anything to do with your password change. I’ve had this come up multiple times without any change in the password in between.

I’m having the same issue… changed my password a couple days ago after receiving a verification e-mail for an unknown location/IP. Now, I get a disconnect with “Invalid Password” every few hours. How do I prevent this from happening? It’s very annoying getting booted from WvWvW and dungeons when this happens.

Heyohh, I been having a problem for the last week in that about 30min to an hour after logging in and playing I’ll suddenly get a white screen and a GW2 error box saying “Incorrect Password” (see attached screencap)

I’m getting this password error lately during dungeons, cities, pvp, wvwvw. It’s random and I got booted like 4-5 times across 3 days.
What I did before? Launcher asked me to change my password, so I did change my password and I successfully login every time into the game. So it is NOT me who is typing a bad password.
I am getting boot from the during game randomly and gave me this screen.

I also have been getting this recently, along with my boyfriend, It is making the game difficult to play. I’m nout sure if this means that someone is trying to access our accounts while we are in the game playing, or if there is some sort of timed access/verify code that is being missedand kicking us out.
Getting any kind of info would be greatful

Yeah I’m getting this with increasing frequency now… been kicked out twice in the last hour. Very annoying. The last time was while creating a character… just about finished so I lost all the work I put into it. Sigh.

@coldRain – this particular error seems to just kick people off randomly, as opposed to preventing them from logging in. There is another error, different number, that has been affecting people who have recently bought the game. You might want to check that post.

I am also getting this with what appears to be increasing frequency. I cant seem to attribute it to any in game actions Im performing as I have had it while afk in LA (and other zones), whilst actively fighting in cursed shore and dungeons and also striaght from the character selection screen. It has only happened since the last patch was implemented.
I was also wondering if its someone trying to brute force my password since ANet easily gives everyone access to my username on these forums and in game.
Any sort of response as to why this is may be happening would be appreciated.

I’m having the same problem. I’ve been disconnected three times in the last few days and am prompted with error code: 11:1000:7006:743:101 “Incorrect Password. Please check it and try again.”
I have changed my password each time afterwards. Why would the game client boot me if someone is trying to access my account? That doesn’t make sense.
The Google Authenitcator also stopped working about a week ago. This is when I started getting these messages.
My support ticket is 12 1112-001434
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the exact same issue and it also started about a week ago. I get kicked out of the game with error code 11:1000:7006:743:101 “Incorrect Password. Please check it and try again.
As soon as I get kicked, I can login and play right away
I changed my password to get rid of the “suggestion” at the login screen but I still get kicked out.

Same problem for me. Incredibly annoying, especially when you get kicked out of a dungeon or a personal story; the latter is worse since you don’t appear back in when you re-log.

Update: I created a ticket for this and while support was prompt they did not answer my questions at all. Instead, the initial reply stated, "we’ll help you recover your account,’ when I clearly stated I’d never lost it and that I could log in fine and that I had never changed my password since BETA. I specifically asked about why this was occurring and speculated that perhaps it had to do with a failure to authenticate credentials while logged into the game.
The second reply completely ignored my questions and stated, “we’ll help you reset your password,” and with a new password set by support. I logged in and changed it but I’m not pleased that none of my questions were answered and instead they just treated it like an account recover / password reset issue when that is not what was occurring for me.

Still getting this error, support basically keeps replying back with a “we can help you recover your account”, when clearly the account isn’t compromised.
I was finally able to grab the error code, which is 11:1000:7006:743:101.

I’ve had several follow ups to my support ticket – all very prompt and polite. So there is that at least. However, nothing has been resolved. If it’s being addressed as a ‘known issue’ in another thread, that’s great but I’d like to see it. Might also be a good idea to let the csrs know about it so they can let people who file tickets know instead of having them keep change their passwords which is not working.

ok i DEFINITELY have the right password as i am on here (same pass) but when i try and log into the game i get
“The account name or password you entered is invalid. Please check your information and try again”
The weird part is that my GF account is EXACTLY the same. any ideas?
