This isn’t a duplicate ticket and it isn’t solved. I have my original account I pre-purchased back in July 2012. When I try changing my password on THAT account it won’t just accept my email address. Instead it asks for my email, my serial code, and a character name. When I put in all 3 I get an error screen saying I need to contact support.
THIS forum account was made with my NEW GW2 account I bought during the sale that you put on when you announced your new expansion. I need to use this account to post on this thread because I can’t login with my original.
I still can’t change the password on my original account and I’m still not getting any help from you or your support team. I just want to play my kitten account please. I waited over a month to be told it was a duplicate ticket when I only created the one? Why?

Thank you for the response Michael, I only just learned that you (apparently) received over 10000 tickets last month alone, so i can only imagine the stress the support team must be under to get them all answered in a timely fashion, but thank you for letting us know that our tickets are still being looked in-to and haven’t been abandoned.

Your response on this ticket was: “Please disregard and close this ticket. I forgot I changed my email address on the account. All is good now.”
You likely have a compromised email account. Change your email password and submit a new ticket. Post the new ticket number here and I’ll have a look.

Going forward all GW accounts with linked GW2 accounts (or seeking a link) will be handled by the GW2 team in order to speed things up.
Again – we only support game access and exploit reporting for Guild Wars. All other issues are no longer supported (game hints, bugs, etc.).

New ticket #: 1298990 “Can’t change password”
The first ticket I created was because I had forgotten I changed my email address so I asked that ticket to be closed. When I tried changing my password with the current email address I got the error that I had to contact support, so I created a new ticket under the correct email address.
I had no idea the tickets would be tied together, but since I asked the other to be closed and got a confirmation message from your support team that it was closed. Naturally I assumed I had to create a new ticket. So for that I apologize. In any event, the issue is still ongoing and I’d really just like to be able to change my password.
My account isn’t compromised because, as stated in my ticket and here, I have 2-step authentication on both my GW2 account and email account that notifies my phone when there’s an attempt. I never received any messages about any attempts except the ones I made.
I appreciate you looking at my tickets. Thank you.

Banned for gold selling, when in fact was just sending gold to a (newly aquired) alt. Been banned twice for gold selling before, both times support agreed was a false flag (having a chinese IP adrress probably doesnt help)

Posting for a friend. My group of friends bought GW2 when it came out and played for about a month then all quit. We all decided to come back about 5 days ago and everyone could log in but this person. He has done everything the agent has said but nothing has changed. He has given up, i hope this last attempt will solve it.

This is my second ticket regarding the issue, last ticket got a copy paste response. I was permanantly banned for gold selling. I didnt gold sell, i did send a lot of gold to another account, but i own both accounts and i can prove ownership of both accounts. Both accounts were permanantly banned at the same time, and a few hours after the gold was sent. I have sent gold to friends before with no issue.
Ive also been banned before for gold selling and everytime its been identified as a false ban. Both accounts invloved in the trade and both that were terminated are owned by me, i cant sell gold to myself.

My GW2 account is linked and I have no trouble logging into it. I have no issues logging into the website either. I have tried changing my password and I still receive an error notice when I try to use it in GW1.

You can always update your original Ticket with new informations, that also reminds them of you ;o)
But don´t create a new one which slows down the process.

My request is 1298596. I really want a refund for the black wings since they were not as what I thought they were going to be (more details in the ticket) and I have yet to hear anything back yet. I just want a refund of gems and the wings to be removed from my account. I don’t want cash since I know I will spend the gems in the future anyway.

I’m submitting this for a friend of mine who hasn’t been able to get into his account and can’t get past the password recovery due to the ridiculous amounts of information it’s asking. He can’t even start playing Guild Wars 2 and wasn’t even dignified a proper response to any of his tickets.
He submitted ticket #1219907 ONE MONTH AGO and was asked for some extra information to verify he’s the actual account owner. He immediately replied and got no response.
He followed up with a second ticket #1273191 TWO WEEKS AGO since he hasn’t heard any response for half a month providing the extra information that was asked.
He just submitted a third ticket a few minutes ago, #1315262, since he has YET to receive ANY response.

Hacked accounts can take longer to solve. They want to make sure they give the account back to the proper owner so they don’t rush through double checking things.
Has your friend made sure their email is secure? I know Gaile has posted that a lot of account hacks seem to be done by people who have also had their email hacked.
Not saying that that is the case with your friend, but it doesn’t hurt to double check.
I hope your friend gets the situation sorted out sooner rather than later.
