We were all attacking the Megadestroyer on the final phase when I suddenly got disconnected due to overflowed queued data. I reconnected and found myself dead. Moments later while waiting to get revived, the chest on the land disappeared. The chest only stayed up for 2 minutes.
I hope you have a good reason why the chest from Megadestroyer and Inquest’s Golem Mark II only stays up FOR TWO MINUTES before despawning.

Been lagging allot every since I started the game at 18.00 and it’s terrible today.

It started at the feature pack but these last bunch of days it’s been terrible.
Update: I am doing the tripple wurms event the countdown started at 19.00 hours and at 19.27 the actual wurms spawn (with allot server lag) after a 20+ minute waiting for the escort to start and the escort events…..

So erm… Not to be mean or something, but here we are, just a few people complaining. We’re just the tip of the iceberg (I myself represent at least 10 people).
So my question: when is this horror getting fixed? The game is really unplayable.

I have to say that I have been watching this thread with great interest, I am being affect by this, but I am beginning to believe this has very little to do with network issues. Well I don’t believe it is a network issue with regards to connecting to the GW2 Server Farm.
So the information being asked for :

Game World : Whiteside Ridge (Not that this should make much difference with the Mega Servers.
Brief description of what you’re seeing:
This is where it gets interesting. Basically this is highly dependent on the map. more specifically the more high population maps, and why I am not sure it is a general networking issue.
The first symptom I see is that if I atempt to access certain maps ( LA, Gendarren Fields, Straights of devastation, EB, PvP) I will get the map load screen for up to 10 minutes before I get the network disconnection error (7:etcetc).
This becomes specifically frustrating when all I want to do is play a specific game type and then I can’t…
Now while this is happening, I can log into another map with an alternate character and have ZERO yes 0 lag. ie .. I have one character in straights of devastation .. which can’t connect but I have a character in Cursed Shore and that connects with no issues and has 0 lag.
That is the first scenario.
The second one is if the “lag” hits while I am on a map. The symptoms to this are action Lag ( I use action because if I attempt to do anything that will interact with server side) I can have up to 60 seconds of lag. The lag will result in rubber banding and often my characters death due to something.
The final fail on this is the lagging can cause a disconnection, which then results in the first scenario.
My choices here are generally I wait it out (which I do if there is a meta event running the lag clears when everyone leaves)
Or
I swop out maps… (ie I will jump from say Straights of Devastation to Malchors Leap) and the lag will vanish on the new map (yes it may take me 60 seconds to start the map swop). but once I have done the swop I can play normally. So I have done nothing but swop maps.
Additional Info :
Now I know that the time of day plays a huge part in this. I can play during the day (so off peak play time) There are no issues (even when my isp is throttling me to hell and back).
I have run things like pingplotter and normal traceroute, and I can see that my spike in latency happens when my traffic crosses the Atlantic. But .. I am still running with under 200ms.
This time is to accounts.guildwars2.com, which was suggested as the target to use when doing this testing (I saw it in one of the threads). I have tried using the actual map address as the target for ping plotter etc, but it appears that they don’t accept icmp from the world in general. I am not sure if this is the intended behavior, although it wouldn’t shock me to know that is as intended.
I also run with the -MapLoadInfo flag on my gw2.exe and I can see how far along in the loading process it gets, It seems to hang once it has gotten to the map ready state, and the map background music will play and then the hang continues.
I have just realised this is a bit of an explosion of information. And may be a little Overwhelming.
If there is any more info, that I have not provided that would be useful to the devs Let me know and I attempt to provide it, I am also happy to try test specific things for devs.

Brief description of what you’re seeing Ping spikes from the average 300-350 to 600+ on a consistent basis with insane skill lag, sometimes chat lag, and sometimes but not often disconnects.
Also, all leap skills are bugged including warrior’s greatsword rush. Savage leap will, for example, sometimes turn around mid-air and leap back to the original point and sometimes it will teleport me back and forth a few times. Rush will just never hit the target— even if it is completely still.
Just revert the 9/9 changes tbh. I sincerely doubt that aside from the minis and trading post changes anyone really likes the rest.

I was in a party where we all attack Fire Elemental boss in Thaumanova Reactor in the same map instance. After looting the ground chest, I went to the center reactor room to wait for someone to open the force cield.
Until I was told that it was opened and Steam Ogre was killed just seconds ago, while it NEVER happened on my screen. I reconnect to skip all the “queued data” to real-time instance and found out that the console for the force field is now disabled.
Yet another case of getting de-synchronized from the game instance.

I’m getting 10 second lagg spikes and disconnects every 10 seconds.
That’s like 50% of the time. If I’m able to stay in a map.

I’ve been experiencing lag and crashes for the past two weeks, with guildies from different countries we had lag spikes at the same time not only in wvw but also in dungeons.
Now i tried to do a quick play in pvp but the lag was atrocious(6 sec or so), the ip was 206.127.146.91:0
It got much much more severe than the previous days. Now it’s really unplayable
- ca 20s delays on chat: I see my own chat messages after like 15-20s
- ca 40s delays on skills: my skills just keep flashing after having been activated. After almost 1min passed, the skills finally get activated all at once. Lagspikes occur every 5s and last for at least 20s. The game is “playable” only for the 20% of the time and always with at least 1s delay on everything. People in chat are lamenting too
- exactly 2:27 min to load LA, like really, what the hell? And then crash after 6min ingame lagging.
At least give some update, don’t know, say “we are being hacked” or “the host server is being gangbanged” or something, we’d be way more understanding. There is like no communication at all.
I’ve run once again a speedtest to Frankfurt servers, where supposedly gw2 EU servers are and these are my results

I noticed it the first time during a run in the edge of the mist, lowered my settings from high to best preformance, since we were quiet a big zerg. Normally that helps, but this time it didn’t. Skills freeze for several seconds, and I fall down from the “edge” a few times thanks to rubber banding. At one point the game just disconnected on me, when I reentered the map, I read that half of the zerg had DCed

Whats happening is that I keep getting disconnected and my game lags, and what i mean by that is when I use an ability, nothing happends, and I just keep standing there doing nothing until i either regain connection and my character will perfom the “stuff” i told him to or i get disconnected. It says I get a lot of package losses? I have tried other games and stuff and no lag at all. Its beginnng to be very annoying.

North American here, but have been having the same FPS and lag issues and have been working through it with tech support.
We solved it today, when we figured out that my cpu was overheating. Part of the problem was my end, in that my heat sink was dusty, but part of the problem is that the new patch causes my cpu to rise 40 degrees celcius in temp when launched.

ENORMOUS LATENCY. By the time we escorted the Pact to the altar of Temple of Balthazar, something downed me almost instantly. The game would not let me heal myself and I died. The game took freaking 30 seconds to waypoint me to the Rally Waypoint. By the time I was there, Risen Priest of Balthazar was already at 40% and melting. The map pulled me way behind in time from the real-time event due to the server’s inadequate downstream to my game client. I was not given the chance to WP back in time and run back up to the altar like the game was supposed to before last week’s game update.
ZERO chest awarded.
Added: Before anyone question about the stability of the internet connection I’m using here, here’s my speedtest result.

Yep, it’s always the Level 3 in Frankfurt for me. It’s been this way for months. I’ve had to purchase WTFast subscriptions in order to play GW2. It’s simply impossible without it.
Though annoyingly, it seems like WTFast doesn’t help with the trading post? I don’t know. It’s been incredibly slow, sometimes never even loading.. just that loading circle continually until it times out.

A classic, big lag – you can still move around, but any interactive content stops reacting, until i catch up to the lag or disconnect.
Always happens in Fractals of the Mist , sometimes in explorable dungeons and just recently started to happen in the open world. (Snowden Drifts, shortly after a CTD, which also happen very rarely since a week)

Ok Last night (it’s 11.17am now gmt +10 sydney Australia) at 11pm the shatterer went entirely mental. It took, no word of a lie less than 5 seconds to kill him on fissure of woe server. He spawned as usual and a lag spike hit everyone for about 2-3 seconds, I hit the keys to turn on the recording software to record the lag and the lag stopped and the shatterer’s health went down so fast, It was literally 5 seconds to kill him including the lag time. If you devs have logs of those fights then surely you can see something went awry there with the server.

3 days ago i had 0 lag game was running great
last few days … cant play it … time of day does not seem to matter and wvw population does not matter …
i was on really late and running around wvw with no one around and i could not flip a camp because the computers wooped my butt during a lag spike

Curious to see if people are seeing server lag in the past couple hours. We made some backend changes this evening and it should solve a lot of the really long lag issues people were seeing, including an issue that came up where certain players would cause any map they join to lag.

Descriptoin:.WvW and PvP, PvE doesn’t lag at all (except Fractals, only fractals). Instead of typical skill delay which is normal lag it’s masive up to minute lag spikes. Strange thing is that chat is working good, but everything else is lagged.

Brief description of what you’re seeing: Anywhere up to 10 second skill lag and gameplay latency lag – everyone will run in opposite directions in the middle of the fight for approx. 10 seconds then rubberband and super-speed to catch up to current play. This happens roughly 2-3 times 5 minute block (the 10s skill lag is permanent but the rubberband/superspeed is 2-3 times per 5 mins) and makes PvP/WvW unplayable.
