I am in EU (UK) but playing in a NA server, Crystal Desert.

I hope its fixed soon cuz i wanna play the game

Really? If that’s the case, then ANet have just breached the Data Protection Act. I wouldn’t be too happy about that if it was me.

Yes this is happening to a lot of people but I cant ask anyone in guild to confirm if they can actually see my email address or if it’s only showing the email to me since most of my group are having the same problem.

I just checked with my guild, they only see my name, in friendslist and in guild list. So it seems to display the email address only to me. Also a friend of mine told me that is a known problem but only visible to yourself. So don’t worry

Now i tried login with de-check the “remember password”, manually entered password and worked. No ideea why though…

I hope this event has a chest at the end….

EDIT: Logged one account in and the GW2.exe client immediately crashed to desktop…
Still can’t log the other account in on the laptop

From a PC with a EU IP-Address

Switched off firewall. Rebooted router etc. Nothing helps.
Did not have this problem for months and I play often.
Last time I logged in succesfully was on monday 18th Feb. Did not play on Tuesday. But now I just get this error.

i was dumb enough to try it again, now i can’t log in back in now way…c’mon guys, you serious?

Unable to log-in from the launcher, in other words, not even able to launch the game.
This is the same launcher that was used during beta, that updated to “retail” version once the game went live.

This actually worked. Worth trying out.

There’s one more problem, and it seems to be corrupted data in the user database. Once i managed to log in, i wasn’t greeted by the usual ‘Welcome, drkn.3429!’ (or was it without the numbers?), but i was greeted by my e-mail address. As i am in-game now, i can see myself by my e-mail address rather than account name, when i hover on myself in the guild roster. No such thing when i hover over my guildies nor when they hover over me.
It seems that the script responsible for account-name/e-mail-address pairing has got corrupted.

BUT: be patiente. because this is first problem.
i play 5 month and every time i login without problem.
Arenanet is very good because this game is without subscribe.

I am angry too that i cant play but thank you very much for this game.

And GUILD WARS 2 is the best MMO in universe.
and i love this game. I WILL WAIT :o)))

This time it didnt authenticate the login but sometimes it does but the launcher doesnt do nothing.

Before i could not log in i was playing fine since i tried to relog to fix the dead Trading Post – some server error massage on all tabs.I think there is a problem with the game servers.

So, THREE HOURS after this post was started Anet still haven’t posted a single word about the cause, or when they expect to fix it. It’s implausible (except through incompetence) they don’t know what’s wrong by now.
