Guild Wars 2

I keep trying to patch GW2, but it quickly drops to 0 speed and doesn’t ever go back up. =| What’s the deal? GW2’s PATCHER is also making my fan go crazy, like.. wut? The patcher…..? I don’t understand any of this..

I’m downloading GuildWars 2 atm but it is hovering at about 40 KB/s when my internet speed is 200MB/s.. this is really irritating and i don’t know what to do, someone please help me !!

Yes, I actually stopped playing for a while and after seeing all the interesting stuff coming to the game I decided to play again. For the last 2 days I have been trying to update my game. It downloaded about 90% of it(had to babysit it for hours due to this) but now it does nothing.

I followed some advised from someone saying to change the language, nothing. I deleted the local.dat file and guess what, downloads around 800KB and then goes to 0 and stops.

Tried disabling firewall and turning off my antivirus., nothing,

This is incredibly disheartening.

After trying just about everything people recommended, I finally got it working.
I tried US VPN and it’s working now. I guess you can just blame bad patcher servers(or rather inadequate patching servers).

Is this some sort of program you gotta pay for?

I am having this exact problem for the last 5 days. I doubt its my connection as my browsing is fine and so are my games on steam. Please help ArenaNet this is very frustrating. I attach a guild wars 2 test log I hope this helps.

Why didn’t you attach that in a thread that the devs actually posted in? lol..
Anyway this is really kittened how a lot of players can’t get on gw2, and yet they’re taunting those of us with these discount offers and whatnot.. omfg I am so mad right now, yet I am so thankful that this game isnt p2p..

I’m posting this in an attempt to bring further attention to this issue. It seems when issues affect a minority of the player base, the devs couldn’t care less. Even though there doesn’t seem to be a shortage of posts on these forums regarding this very issue…

Can’t download the patch too, it stays in 0 kb/s with only one file remaining.
And btw, my steam games are updating in a ~900 kb/s rate.

That’s a bit odd the launcher would make your fan go a bit nuts but I’d also like for you to submit a support ticket so we can work with you one on one. You should receive a reply from us fairly quickly if you send one in now.

I submited a ticket 4 hours ago, where is the reply?

“Now” was 24 hours ago. No doubt you’re far back in the line of people who submitted a ticket about this issue.

I was having similar issues and came across an old thread which suggested changing your DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 in Primary and 8.8.4.4 in secondary.

It worked for me!

I’m having exactly the same problem. It’s so frustrating!

The problem seems to have started very recently though.

I left the patch overnight, and luckily it had finished when I woke up. Then.. oh look, another patch to fix the last patch, which is also broken downloading.

OMG.. (sry for the youthful text talk expression) but this really deserves it. Thankyou Thorus Dragone.

I just added those DNS settings, and 5 mins later, the whole update is finished. I would recommend trying this to anyone who is experiencing this issue.

Lol I reinstalled GW2 and I was able to get on the other day, so.. I have no more problems. =x
