I have had some succes forcing the game to run in directX 9. My disconnects went from every 5 to 10 mins to about one a night. Hopefully that can help other people as well.

Disconnect and this error just started last night for me. It was running fine for hours and hours on end until now.

United States, in Tarnished Coast. I can play for a few minutes at a time and then get the disconnect notice with this error code.

Error 7 Disconnects are now occurring as soon as I select a character. I don’t even get past the “loading in” to whatever area I’m in screen.

Nothing would make me happier than to hear ArenaNet acknowledge this error in the form of an official “we’re working on a fix” type post, with timeframe. The silence sounds like “yup, we can’t do anything about it, deal.”

I realize I can’t demand attention here, that’s not my point. I’m simply pointing out that ArenaNet have BETTER communication than is indicative in this thread, with the severity of the issue, and that makes me nervous.

Started getting this problem 2 days ago havn’t been able to play doesn’t matter the zone and its not on my end. I can log in and get the character to load, but then it becomes unresponsive and unplayable.

Had this for three days straight now. Network lag, skill lag, chat lag. Error 7’s everywhere….only seemed to have happened since two patches ago. Never had trouble before. Getting annoying. The areas worse affected are Norn areas especially Dredgehaunt Cliffs.

Please fix.

It has degraded to the point that now I can’t even get past a loading screen without getting error 7 or 3032. Before I could at least get into the game before I’d disconnect. Can’t even do that now.

I’m trying to be patient, myself, but this REALLY needs to at least click over from “hey guys, try this” to “we’re working on it,” at least for those of us that had flawless access and functionality until recently.

Those of us who went from 100% ok to this bug on log in should not have to “try this,” in my opinion, it should work, or be acknowledged as being in ArenaNet’s court for the most part.

I’m not willing to “try this,” I’m willing to follow the staight line installation of the game and log in.

I’m not mad that there’s errors. Errors happen. It’s a new game. I get annoyed when a previously working program breaks, with no variables on my end, and I get asked to “try this,” with no admission that “it’s not you.” I know it’s not me, and I don’t need inferences to the contrary.

That would make me a lot more patient, to hear that “if it worked before, it will work again, that’s our goal, and you won’t have to ‘try this.’”

Again, I’m not mad at ArenaNet, I just need to stop hearing “try this.” I’d rather, being someone who has had the game working flawlessly for over a week, hear “we’re trying this, it’s not you” from ArenaNet.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that, for most if not all of the cases of “the game worked for me before this,” it’s not in “our court” anymore, as well intended as those suggestions were.

Now we just need the other side of the table to do their thing and fix it.

An update would be lovely.

Again, not trying to be a jerk, but for those of us for whom this just started happening, if we were playing flawlessly through a router, it’s GW2’s job to work through that router once again, not ours to fiddle with the router, nor to somehow plan to play without the router.

We’ve moved past the “our end” variables. There are multiple examples in this thread of “I’ve tried everything on my end,” it’s not in our court anymore.

For those who have never had a solid connection to the game, there are pages of people making suggestions of “our end” variables. For the rest of us, this thread is better focused for people to post their info, proclaim their being impacted by the error, and to wait for an ArenaNet-end fix to be announced.

We’ve moved beyond “user, try this.”

I have been getting this error on and off for the last few weeks, somedays where I can sit down and play for hours on end, and days like today where I can play for two seconds before getting Error 7ed out of the game. I’m in the US, on the Borlis Pass server.

I confirm. Since 2 days here in Poland game is unplayable. Server Far Shiverpeaks.
I sent the ticket and received instructions to d/l and run GameAdvisor. But this program does not support GW2 (yet, I guess).

I’m happy to report that the /clientport 80 fix worked like magic. Been playing for the last two hours with no lag or DCs. Does this mean that my ISP is blocking certain ports (assuming that this is indeed fixed my problem)? Should I just continue playing with this new shortcut normally, or will there be a more permanent fix?

Been having this problem with error code 7:11:3:189:101 since head start
thought it was because high stress gaming being new and all but problem has presisted
been following the forum posts. so

Yes i opened the ports
Yes i checked the firewall
Yes i did the client 80 shortcut thing

All seemed to fix the problem, for at least an hour or 2 but next time i log on the Error Code is back and i have a terrible time with it from anywhere between 5 minutes to 30 minutes completely unplayable

Goes away comes back goes away comes back…very frustrating

I was playing without any issues up until this morning when I started getting this error. I disabled my firewall and antivirus as suggested (but not too please to do…) and it didn’t fix the problem. Got into the game, got DCed maybe a minute later. I did the “fix” where you change the target to add /clientport 80, and while it seemed to work for a while, I had HORRIBLE lag spikes every minute instead; still unplayable.

Playing on Yak’s Bend in the US, for what it’s worth. I just wanna play this awesome game

I’ve been getting this on and off all day. This started yesterday. Got DC’d maybe once or twice, then today it’s happened about five or more. It’s not making my game unplayable, but it’s starting to happen more often. Everything seems to be fine on my end as my internet is showing no problems.

Hi, I’ve been getting error code 7 every 15-30 mins every day since the game’s release, but only during late morning to evening hours (11am – 7pm MDT). After about 7pm it seems I no longer disconnect. I am playing in the United States on the NA servers. I am playing on the Dragonbrand world and have never changed servers.

error code 7:11:3:189:101. Started for me aswell today, has been fine up until Friday evening. I have not done any changes on my local network. Game is now unplayable if i even manage to get in i get major network lag spikes and disconnects from server.
My isp is Lyse im located in Norway and playing on ruins of surmia server. I got my brother to test my account from his isp and he had no issues. Still i have not done any changes to my ruter

I’m not a network expert, but I know enough to read the logs you guys are posting and it’s very clear it’s a network issue, one that looks like it’s on PlayNC’s end.

Here’s a snippet from one that’s been posted (I cleaned it up a bit for legibility). You can see at #9 and #11 there is 100% packet loss, and #11 is a plaync.com address. Unfortunately I don’t have a solution, but at least you know why it’s happening:
