When will gw2 be optimized?
Dont hold ur breath.
They will obviosly be continualy ‘optimizing’ the game ..but not to the point where the FPS will be affected much.
The FPS issues r down to the game engine which can only have so much optimisations done to it, and its highly likely that they will never be able to do enough optimisations to get the FPS issues sorted..they need to bassicaly run a completly different game engine ..which isnt going to happen..thats bassicaly a new game.

I quit playing around September because of the terrible fps checking in now and again in the hope of some optimization only to be disappointed. No expansions for me, not when it runs like it does atm anyway

Almost every single one of your post history is about complaining the same thing repeatedly. You need to fix your system.

Actually, they could fix the engine, todays engines are mostly evolutions on older engines, just as gw2’s is an evolution on gw1’s.
blizzard/activision did i with WoWs engine, if you dont know the history of that engine, it was first used in warcraft 3, yet now, it supports 8+ cores and dx11 to good effect, bf3’s engine is an evolution of the bfbc2 engine, thats an evolution of older engines by the same company, and as im sure you know bf3’s engine loves extra cores.
the problem really comes down to some stuff you can deduce by looking at the facts.
1. anet has said theres a possibility of a console port that coincides with 2 things about gw2 that dont make much sense otherwise.
the use of dx9 when before they said they where working on dx10(years ago before 11 came out) and that they where working on 11….
2. the game uses 3 primary threads, the xbox 360 has a tricore cpu, and the video chips in current consoles are all dx9 level hardware, so porting would be alot easier.
the reason I think we havent seen a console version is simple, the game is to heavy cpu wise for a console cpu, its just to kitten heavy…..the same reason it runs like warmed over donkey poo on modern systems.
reason 3 is that somebody saw $.$ at the idea of selling gw2 to XP users even if their systems couldnt run it in any real meaningful way…..

so. your saying its ok the game runs like crap on modern systems and for the poster because its just his system being messed up some how….
sorry but the game should run far better on far lesser hardware then this fellow has, even if the systems got some issues.
pretty sad how much better tera, another game known to be cpu bound runs on the same system compared to gw2….

GW2 uses a very bad engine, so majority of the load is on one core.
I think it is a epic failure on their part not to develop a game that fully takes advantage of multicore processors, so many wasted clock cycles with this game and bad FPS to show for it.
Game Booster seems to help some people it gives you the ability to launch the game on a game desktop which frees up clock cycles for the game

Go look at his post history and complaints. You’re missing the point. His hardware should be performing much much better, yet refuse to troubleshoot it thoroughly and instead just whine/complain on dozens of threads wanting a magic pill from Anet.

so hes like 98% of users out there?
most people dont want to troubleshoot they just want things to work…..they dont care how or why it works……..
having worked tech support, honestly, hes the norm in that not the exception…..most computer users dont know a kitten thing about their computers, they may as well be using a console…and many would be if their favorite MMO was on one……(you would be shocked how many people who play for example WoW who would be playing on a console if they could…..most dont know a kitten thing about their systems….)
ask most computer users what videocard they have….they have no idea…they may if your lucky know what windows version they have, and they may know if they have an intel cpu…but then again, I have been told by many people they had an “intel athlon” sooooo
i get your frustration with the fellow, but…..fact is, lazy idiots are the norm not the exception to the norm.
