Because every fight against Blackgate/JQ/SoR is essentially a 5to1 fight ( and that’s in good conditions) and also because they PvD everything while people are working ( FACT : 100 man just pushed into our garri to retake it against….. 12 ish roamer. At noon eastern on a monday. repeat every day), that means we start from a “paper position” every day.

Pffff Blackgate. Anyone can feel invincible in pvt with +4man dps helping against whatever. It’s not like there’s any effort or skill required. Just cruise control to victory.

In fact, i’m quite confident in saying that most BG players wouldn’t be able to handle Maguuma-style difficulty. Because they are not tough enough.

Our objective this week is the number 2 spot. If blackgate will stop playing favorites ( by capping only mag stuff during the day and keeping the points rolling for sos) then perhaps we’ll get it done.

Any way you cut it, the “season” and the “rankings” are a joke. 3 weeks into the season we got word that SOME silver league servers (who shall remain nameless) deliberatly tanked themselves to silver league because they were too weak to try the real deal. and because….. they were scared the rewards for “bottom gold” was not gonna be good enough for them. Ask the silver league guys about it sometimes…

last night in SOS BL, there Ark, VR, iLL and some guys from maguuma trying to roam but was out gunned by BG roamers and we decided to hang out in front of their spawn, so we got a good fight club going in front of their spawn, i think we were 5 at that time then they became 10, after 15mins what they decided was had 2 guys near to each us 5 and started to kill us while watching. oh well. there goes we love to duel eh.

actually the two BT guys started to attack everyone and it just turned into a brawl eventually leading to BG running back into their tower

That was not only admirable, that was an impressive week. If anything, coming to gold league has benefited mags with there new friends/new guilds that have decided to join forces during the season. Even if it’s not much… it still has benefited them. As it has with SoS.

So whether the season is a tank/crapshot who cares… in the end I think your servers respectively gained from it.

In fact, I’d go as far as to say SoS and Mag’s are lining themselves up for the new map. That is all.

Fight hard, your pre-season work is what actually provided some grounds for others. As did BG’s come from behind … it’s that type of stuff that I respect from other servers. You have it in you.

If I were to count the times I’ve gone to cap a paper keep back from jq at night, only to wipe on queue in lord’s room, / mowed over by zerg. It’s does kitten me off too. But i get my kitten back up get our group and go kill a few aimlessly wandering … get my needles or spikes, shake it off and carry on objectively.

FA being in silver is a combination effect. A few weeks right before seasons started when FA were playing JQ it seemed everything went wrong for them. They got ripped apart by JQ and lost 2-3 key guilds in the process (one of them was RISE I believe). There was a server wide decision from the guilds remaining (on their TS) that due to the losses and how badly things were going vs JQ they would tank ranks to be in silver this season. Any of them who say this “server wide decision” didn’t happen is fooling yourselves because one of the main commanders was streaming it after they just did a GvG at the time, and forgot to mute sound on the stream till about half way through so a few people heard it (me included). That being said I don’t really look negatively on them as it was just a bad run of luck that pushed them to making the decision.

FA wasn’t the only one who tanked to stay in silver either though. SBI was on the rise and even had SoR helping them to get into gold week prior to the season start. When SBI realized this, with the fact that they were getting hammered by SoR, and based on their consult with other guilds felt there were more underhanded ulterior motives by SoR they decided not to make the push that last week for gold.

I think it does say something that SoS stayed in and Mag actually continued the push to get in gold. FA failed in SoS’ resolve and SBI failed in Mag’s resolve. Both servers had the chance and decided to throw it away. Me personally I wanted to mix it up with SBI I haz lotz of fwendz there and it would feel like ole timez.

I have also noticed that pyro as well as a few other guilds are doing what they can to show that they can play the t1 meta with heavy frontline(real heavy) and some solid backliners supplemented by kitten glass. Thanks for coming out and fighting hard.

Aon is a troll guild but I like that they kite away the pugs not on ts. I have heard a bunch of drivers say “oh, its AoN, they wont fight, they just run and pick off the pugs” I like this little service you do us :P

FA got rekt, them tanking doesn’t change the fact that their guilds that did come out to play ended up giving up over 1000 kills a night.

One day you’ll step away from your 30-man zerg who’s average per player skill is less than a cow’s. Then we’ll see who “doesn’t fight”; but the difference is we’ll actually catch you and kill you. Which is more than I can say about you guys.

SBI is going to come in 3rd behind YB now; they are probably getting ready to transfer off already.
FA is going to be fun in the post-season now that they got a fresh IoJ infusion (2nd time now). Too bad it’s going to be very rare to get a FA-Mag-SoS match in the future (TC would have to roll down and face SBI and YB; not very sporting or likely).

I completely understand what our friends from Maguuma are saying though. As mind-numbing as it is to see yet ANOTHER massive T1 blob come over the hill towards us; it’s got to be a lot more fun than facing near empty servers like NS and IoJ. The last time SoS had a +600ppt against a server was IoJ-HoD(post implosion) over a year ago; and if I wasn’t still working on map completion I wouldn’t have had a thing to do.
People were trying to keep people fired up but you can’t keep the drive up because a thief might have stealthed and got out of spawn on EB.

FA may have tanked, but let’s face it … BT even moved over to join the fights. Mag’s deserve credit that week regardless.

If anything it shows the character of FA. Not that i’ll hold it against them. I like FA, and happy they went down to kick SBI’s tail in.

Would people discredit BG about there push in that come from behind battle after the bad reset before ZDs showed up? Of course, but you and BG know the difference, as does ZD. It’s more a compliment to an ongoing effort. Same story with Mags… they fought hard that week, I’ll never forget it … I who troll / get trolled just as hard as any mags .(and sometimes directed to each other) .. was rooting like mad for them and they accomplished it. FA’s decisions to tank only complimented the effort already out there.

Same with TC this week. Some can say JQ, some can blame IRON leaving, some can say anythign they want … but the people on TC still going in and doing everything they possibly can to push hard. Not stopping either. We house the mag’s banner (that pic saying 63k in stomps and sentries… as a bit of motivation. Our forums are filled with things other servers have done with success, in fact BG we taking page from your week 1 book too and moving raid times to gain most ppt. We’re trying, no matter how people candy coat things … credit where credit due. For all servers.

My initial response was far angrier in tone so I am reposting it after taking a dose of my own medicine.

Is that how you want to represent our server? gtfo? I made a comment about the majority of the people in the borderlands maps this week. People who are still a part of Blackgate, people who make Blackgate a great all around server (we are tier 1 in WvW and PvE). Elitism is one thing, but your tone has no place in the conversation in my opinion.

I will be here fighting when the season is over, on teamspeak, running builds as needed and sticking to the commanders tag like glue or roaming with havoc.

So in my opinion, the positive outcome is that there is a influx of new WvWers for after the season. But yes achieves in WvW are sooo bad, if there are anymore they need to be done in like 5 minutes so the queues can unclog again.

I went out to lunch earlier with a couple friends. We sat down and some lady apparently didn’t like her food and screamed at the waitress at the top of her lungs. The waitress went and got the manager and he tried to calm to lady but she kept screaming and screaming. Then out of nowhere, she vomits all over the table and on her lap and starts crying uncontrollably. The look on the manager’s face was priceless, he has no clue what to do. There was nothing in the manager handbook that detailed what to do in the instance that a lady barfs on herself and cries. Right around this time our food arrives which was perfect timing. So the manager walked away and called the police, walked back to the table to inform the lady that he called the police and she immediately tries attacking him. Me and my friends are eating and laughing as we watch this manager try to calm this woman down in a professional way when all he really wanted to do was punch her right in the mouth. Eventually the cops showed up and ruined everything, they arrested the woman and the show was over. We ended up getting our meal for free due to the fact that we had to witness the event even though we absolutely loved it.

BG wvw core guilds/players do not want a karma train. You would only hear most of these guys if you were on TS. Map chat is usually more loaded with AP hunters constantly calling out “can haz karma train pl0x?!”. Honestly, those of us who want to play the mode as intended (vast majority of actual steady WvW players) are burnt out from hearing this since day 1 of season 1. So, I won’t tell you to gtfo, but please stop asking for a karma train, and instead hop on TS and earn your WXP/AP the legit way.

I can’t with this. I’ve lost my ability to can.

I’m considering transferring to Black Gate, because I would like to get the best WvW rewards for Season 2. However, all my Gems are tied up in my virtual girlfriend, so I can’t afford the transfer fee. Here’s my conundrum – I’m not sure how one gets BG leadership to pay for my move to their server.

I’m not the best WvW player, but I do have a Commander taco. I can lead pugs to capture Stone Mist, but that’s usually only when it’s empty. I can solo cap Sentries. I learned some WvW tactics from two of the best Maguuma Commanders (Cody and Oldsmeller). My PvE background is quite strong, having helped command some TC groups in Tequatl kills. I’m pretty decent at Jumping Puzzles, but not pro enough to finish Super Adventure Box. I have a Legendary and all top level gear.

Would these requirements meet the standards of the Black Gate leadership? If not, would someone please let me know how to get sponsored into the winning server of Season 1?

Reading through this thread…wow…Mag’s PvF effort really is as legendary as I’ve heard. Entertaining stuff.

It’s too bad their in-game effort can’t match it. I believe the scoreboard speaks for itself.

well to be fair, you have about 30 guys running the hammer train vs 8-10. so the point of sayng we wont fight is kinda … come at us with 10 and see if we fight or not

Why is everyone on BG talking kitten about the PPT like anyone on Mag/SoS gives a dook? Guys, they’re like t2/3 and have like abysmal coverage in comparison. The real war here is on the field, not in the scoreboard.

I know APeX and guilds like us are in it for the excitement of the fights. The t1 meta is extremely boring and its been fun seeing some alternatives and getting in good fights because of it.

We had good fun with EE, PYRO, Agg, CNB, and aZn tonight. We definitely got a few great clips from tonight with our 10man force and we hope you all did too.

Story time. I was the only roamer on BG BL for a while last night and while going in a predictable line between the camps, there would be 5-10 BG waiting at the next camp or arriving as I captured it. Consistently. Can they really be that bored?

Roaming this match is just strange. Almost every ‘roamer’ on BG runs glued to their 3-10 roaming group it seems. I don’t remember this from the last match where some of them would break off for duels.

Then in the fight club, some random troll group of BGs would jump in and interrupt every duel and keep running back whenever they got killed. Someone must be bored…

Also whenever I look at the PPT skill board I feel like my jimmies are being rustled. But at least I ain’t bored.

I’m going to pop in a sec here to throw back to a week prior to the season … Mags pushed to get into gold. That was a hard push too btw, much like TC trying now.

That was not only admirable, that was an impressive week. If anything, coming to gold league has benefited mags with there new friends/new guilds that have decided to join forces during the season. Even if it’s not much… it still has benefited them. As it has with SoS.

So whether the season is a tank/crapshot who cares… in the end I think your servers respectively gained from it.

In fact, I’d go as far as to say SoS and Mag’s are lining themselves up for the new map. That is all.

How does the Mag peeps feel about all the FA talking about how they tanked scores to get into Silver? I’m probably reading to far into it but it sounds like if FA didn’t tank the scores Mag would still be in silver.

The fact that FA tanked their scores is moot, outside of showing what type of gamers they are. Mag fought hard to get to gold league and that really shows what type of players they are. Server strength is based on population and Mag overcame that shortcoming by playing hard.

I have also noticed that pyro as well as a few other guilds are doing what they can to show that they can play the t1 meta with heavy frontline(real heavy) and some solid backliners supplemented by kitten glass. Thanks for coming out and fighting hard.

Aon is a troll guild but I like that they kite away the pugs not on ts. I have heard a bunch of drivers say “oh, its AoN, they wont fight, they just run and pick off the pugs” I like this little service you do us :P

well to be fair, you have about 30 guys running the hammer train vs 8-10. so the point of sayng we wont fight is kinda … come at us with 10 and see if we fight or not

so basically you want T1 BG to zerg who runs team/guild builds per player and minumum of 30 to fight a 10 guys whos built for 1v1s, youll find some who will endulge in that kind of game but not all.

Story time. I was the only roamer on BG BL for a while last night and while going in a predictable line between the camps, there would be 5-10 BG waiting at the next camp or arriving as I captured it. Consistently. Can they really be that bored?

Roaming this match is just strange. Almost every ‘roamer’ on BG runs glued to their 3-10 roaming group it seems. I don’t remember this from the last match where some of them would break off for duels.

Then in the fight club, some random troll group of BGs would jump in and interrupt every duel and keep running back whenever they got killed. Someone must be bored…

Also whenever I look at the PPT skill board I feel like my jimmies are being rustled. But at least I ain’t bored.

Partly because some are bored partly because there are lots of pvers who do not show up during our regular matches running around…..

Im in no way asking them to break up to fight us but if what you are stating is that all we do is run away from fights and troll, look at it from another view.
also beside apex everyone else is running 20+ in BG so we have to resort to such methods if we are looking for challenging fights.

side note we dont run 1v1 builds we do have a group comp. its not all hammer either.
