Well now finnaly we got some peace and quiet in eb,and we even let tc have sm.
If they can keep it though thats another story.
TC really brought their A game tonight, and it definitely showed in SOR BL. That fight – campaign really – around Bay was epic, from TC battering at us from all directions until they took it, and then hammering us continually as we tried to retake it.
Didn’t know who EP and CERN were before, but I sure do now!
That 30 min long siege inside Rogues Quarry was pretty fun… little did SoR know we were going for SM and not the broken wall Wildcreek mwahahahhaa /evil laugh
Fun times

Sounds awesome, glad everyone on SoR BL had a great time! SoS BL was fun too, SoS really brings it. We had our three omegas porting all over that dang map trying to stay ahead of the SoS folks. Fun night tonight!
Well great fights again tonight. Was fun map hopping trying to hold onto SoR’s keeps. No matter what happens at the end of the week we will all have learned some new tricks. Wishing all servers gl this week.
Seems like we had way more people today (night, evening, whatever). Guess they decided to boycott monday and stay inside?
Got some use out of my hammer warrior anyway, haven’t played that build in ages.

Best frontline yo.
3:33 am score update, I have a new toy so I thought i’d share, not like i’ve posted this week anyways.
It’s still impressive that they can get so many people to cooperate like that. If you aren’t winning and handing them easy bags, WvWers on TC won’t typically won’t cooperate with anything. They’d rather go off and tie up queue space dueling, rping, and doing other random stuff.
Are you sure you’re on our server? O_o
Yup I am. It’s an awesome server, but trying to get people to cooperate can be pretty frustrating at times. Particularly on TCBL.
That’s a valid point; though in fairness there are good days and bad days. And of course, we can always improve but people are not tying up queue space for RPing or picnics or anything like that lol (as nice as that would be). But that’s something we’ll have to work on together. <holds hand>
we had 21 people online on the iron teamspeak pretty much during that whole siege. dunno about the pugs though.
Yeah but there is no way you had only 21 lol. That must’ve been a lot of militia. I have proof in bruises.
The other side always seems to have more numbers, no one knows who had more/less, but saying it was 3 to 1 is a bit much, I cannot believe you thought we had 120-150 players.
Anyway we can all take screenshots next time, which again will tell us absolutely nothing.
What I am loving about TC is that you guys always come out to fight, in Bay there JQ and BG would of probably hidden behind the walls for the whole fight only using siege to counter us. Also your commanders are obviously very skilled, who use some lovely tactics.

Hello old friends, and allies <3
Don’t get discouraged by the score, focus on winning fights and learning tactics from higher tiers.
It’ll only make u guys stronger, I highly suggest GvGing against any guilds u can to see their tactics, setups and movements and learning from them.
GL + HF all,
if any oceanic guilds wish to GVG ocx send me or any of the other ocx commander a PM, we can do 20/15/10/5s.
don’t get discouraged, bandwagon to a higher populated server

How dare an oceanic guild leave an oceanic based server looking for like minded players to play with and against.
What’s RE?
And it seems I was over-optimistic about our numbers, now outmanned and getting zerged by SoS of all things. Though that’s just EB, I think I’ll give some borderlands a shot.

Note I didn’t actually say that or mention anything about being outnumbered 3:1, rather that you didn’t have only 21 people on you. I’m not the sort of person who always assumes that the enemy outnumbers us and has 100+ people with them because, as much as people might disagree, most of us generally don’t run with numbers that big and if we/they did, you’d feel it.

Pretty sure SoS is a NA server

yep it was really fun and really hard to take screenies but got one when i was lagging behind!
was really hard running all the way back from spawn point when you die!
Water fields! Water fields! Water fields!
Really fun this week, SoR is HUGE, but there are balanced fights to be found all around, just need to be mindful of the zerg round the corner (applies to ALL servers ofc).
Coverage and pop is what it is, but frankly nobody seriously cares about the score this week frankly, let’s just have some fun.
Shoutout to IRON, first time ive seen you guys, and you are awesome, very impressive, alot we can learn from you, from your retal zergs to your hammer train into wells, nice tactics.
SOS, so incredibly resilient for the least populated server, much respect.
Heh thanks for the praise, we know we don’t have the population for this match but we’ll try and hold our own regardless.
On the bright side we have more total points than DB in T1 :P
Score update.

Yeah, though it’s swapped around now, not seeing much SoS and we just got sieged at our Bay by SoR, two groups trebbing inner wall and we were outnumbered even at the one group we attacked. Could be the other was smaller I guess but… I doubt it.
edit: lol, then as I was typing that, SoR just swarmed a SoS v TC battle at godslore.
A little note to my fellow SoS folks and TC. SoR does outnumber us in the sense they can load up all maps. However, they outnumber us in terms of WvW guilds and hardcore WvW groups. They are all in TS, and they are all coordinating.
Yesterday, with a mixed group I had the honor of leading, we charged out of NW tower and defeated a much larger group of SoR, mixed guilds. TSYM rolls in about 2 min later and we’re rolled in seconds because we were a mixed bag with only 1 out of 3 people on TS.
It’s all about effectives vs combatants. those on TS and following the commander vs militia who chase thieves off cliffs.

SOR doesnt really bother with points, even if we do have the manpower to take all 695 points, we dont really bother and we prefer good fights over senseless capping.
my guild didn’t even do a single raid this week other than the bay-gari fight yesterday.
most of the sor doesn’t re
if we are ticking even 400+ theres no sense in going for PPT.
its sad that some servers focus too much on ppt that they lose out on good fights.
i am GLAD we are fighting TC/SOS who are much more brave and come out and fight rather then the so called “Tier 1 servers” who cap everything during SEA time and just run inside their towers the moment they see 10 enemies.
What’s RE?

SoS has great coverage in the early hours. If they can fill in their NA timeslot, they’d be a great contender for T2. Great job guys, and keep up the hard/good work.
Kudos to the 5-man TC group we just fought to the east of TC BL Bay…that was epic!
Shout out to TC for the fights in Bay last night. I personally had a blast. After taking a few weeks off it was great to just run around and get a few good fights going. I saw a comment earlier about SoR netting 80 Man zergs, and I can tell you last night in Bay that was just not true. When I logged on we had no visible commanders on because according to my guild the commanders couldn’t get a rally of troops going. we had no queue from 10:00 – 1AM EST and no cordination. Hell I didn’t even get in TS that night I just popped up the tag to get my guild together and we hit Bay’s gate.
Few minutes of gate bashing and player smashing we drew TC Zergball and started a crowd. When we finially pushed into bay. I think I had 35-maybe 40 players with me and hell I just wanted to fight (sorry for those who were looking for points) Java took over when we wiped on south gate, but I still have a blast! I hope to see TC out more and more with that fire in their eyes.
I saw a comment earlier about SoR netting 80 Man zergs, and I can tell you last night in Bay that was just not true.
Yeah, there was a notable lack of SoR on the map during NA prime last night compared to what we saw all saturday and early sunday. I believe it was the [FEAR] guild who had the biggest zergball, and they ended up having to map hop quite a bit. I think they eventually divided their forces or something. Either that or their numbers significantly dropped at some point. It may not have been FEAR though. Hard to remember. I was up past my bedtime.
I think TC and SoR were running about the same numbers overall last night, and TC have just become a little more skilled at map hopping than SoR is, just because there’s more of a need for it in T2. It was a really fun night last night though.
I’ve noticed that a lot of the SoR guilds are a lot tougher in the “bunker” sense during field combat. You can tell there’s been an emphasis on good gear/trait builds, or just intelligent choices by individuals.
(edited by Hickeroar.9734)
Great props to TC. You guys are truly fantastic at bunkering down. Everytime you guys capped something, you guys would always ensure there would be at least 10 ACs and ballistas to prevent the opposition from recapping it even when you guys had huge blobs. It was really difficult for us. TC truly has many people committed to stay in towers and keeps.

CERN was running defense on Bay in SoRbl, and rest assured we always want to fight the largest numbers we can handle; usually 1-2 times our numbers, depending on co-ordination of our opponents.
All I have to say is: holy kitten you folks have a ton of necros in your zergs. Wells EVERYWHERE. Mistforming through them all ahead of the zerg is fun, though. watching all those ’Invulnerable’s pop up on your screen must be frustrating as I pop them all to no effect.
I’ve learned that Cleric ele is amazing in z v z fights, potentially superior to PVT in survivability. Those water fields and regens become a little OP at 1800 healing power.

Did CERN just pull out some insane overtime into Oceanic and early SEA? It was insane how you guys steamrolled everyone with your 70man zerg.

I don’t think Nightlight sleeps much, and when he’s on, he always has a strong following, ‘cause you get LOOT if you can stay on his tag as he pushes. Also, he’s really fun to listen to in Mumble. ♥
I know I started following him about 13 hours ago… he’s probably still going, but I’m at work so I can’t check.

Yeah, CERN is on quite a bit, and they have a really solid group of commanders. When EP isn’t leading anything, I love following CERN. Our guilds have a little bromance going on, I think. <3
Hi to SOR, SOS, and TC.
Shout out to my old buddies in Iron from Deso. (does moorta still play?)

So, SoR guilds, I’m curious. I know we’re not really a threat PPT-wise, but how are we on the open-field? I hope we’re providing you with some good fights.
(Also, please stop dropping ACs and Ballistas when you have more people than us, it’s just bad form)

Pretty sure he went to sleep a while back now. We seem to go through a lot of commanders at this time of night (at least still night for me).
As a side note, I saw a lot of ACs over in EB in the last few hours that were placed dementedly close together, at times one half way inside another. Whichever random TCers have been doing this need to stop and think about incoming AOE when deploying siege! Just ‘cause it’s on a wall doesn’t mean you won’t get hit (and it makes operating it annoying besides).

Way too many berserker builds IMO. If you’re going to make it in T1 you need to outlast an initial burst, not just make one and then die.

I’ve noticed this a lot amongst some of our “less trained” militia, and you’re right. Our guilds have an overall good grasp on builds and are pretty sturdy, but we have had trouble with rallying half an enemy force due to the death of one or two squishy militia following a guild group.

ive constantly run against the guilds the same size as urs like MERC and ATM.
i can tell u one thing, u guys come out and fight, tough it would be ncie if u could run with a little less nos for a while so we dont get huge lagfest.

I could say the same about the numbers. When the Rallians get together, there’s definitely a decent number of ya.
I got a screeny of it, but I’ll paraphrase it for our amusement:
X: SoR has ungodly number of people!
Y: There’s 666 of them?
X: On every map!
This week been the thrill of a lifetime, and the end of many.
I miss my SoR friiiiiiiiiiiiiends!
Hope we get matched up again soon tbh, I’m super bored…. Where is the random SoR zerg that runs around?! :P
Or… where are my random SoR friends who do silly things with me?!
<3
How is this matchup finding the fights? Having fun I hope?! Snuggling fiercely?!

The fights during NA Prime have been fantastic. If we could just keep that segment of SoR with us every week…I’d be a happy camper. Last week a lot of us pretty much stopped playing for the most part and got bored because of a lack of NA Prime fights. I hope things continue like this all week on the TC front. The last 24 hours have been really fun for us…and I’ll say that really surprises me.
Sadly our early morning coverage is skilled…but lacking numbers. It’s one of the holes we need to work on getting filled in the long-term. They have been fighting so hard though! <3

Yeah, I’ve never seen skill-lag as bad as this matchup. When we ran in and defended hills on SoSBL last night (just as west inner went down), the lag was so bad that a couple people got rubberbanded right INTO the bridge itself.
I was on the bridge fighting one moment, then teleported to the entirely opposite end of the bridge, then found myself dead on the ground in the ravine below the bridge…. It was very bizarre.
As far as “u guys come out and fight” goes: open field fighting has become one of our favorite things to do in TC since we hopped back up to T2. I think a lot of us would rather open field fight than worry about taking property half the time. I think the taking of property ends up just being a means to that end sometimes. xD

How do you properly explain a build to them: A) without coming off as elitists, without offending their precious hard-earned armor, C) in a way that communication is taken constructively and seriously?
I like to subtly shame people into durability by doing things like pause in the midst of a fight and its AOEs to lift downed squishies, then heal and carry on as though nothing happened. ;P
I don’t know if it actually works but it always amuses me. If I felt like wasting the money I’d probably have a mercy gear set on my warrior just for this.

SoR does seem to have a great track record in getting militia on-board and trained, and I think it’s a huge part of their success.
So to be completely honest, when you’re fighting SoR ‘militia’ even though they may be tagged up with many different guilds, it is extremely likely they are all in the same TeamSpeak channel. That is 90% of it, communications.
I have personally seen a commander go down in the middle of an enemy garrison, but because 80%+ of the people are in direct voice communications, capture it basically because they can quickly coordinate movements.
Regarding builds, I think people learn from experience, most people might not realise what they’re doing wrong, it’s hard for me to say what the right way to approach this is… It’s really up to the Guilds to train members… but I will say WvW shouldn’t be treated as a karma farm opportunity, serious WvW takes good leadership… after that people will follow good examples.
p.s. mour PVT.

SoR does seem to have a great track record in getting militia on-board and trained, and I think it’s a huge part of their success.
The SoR militia (Rallians we call them) are very engaged. Most use the TS and they are actively asking questions about builds and strategies. When a major fight starts up and the squishier Rallians are downed on the initial burst, they miss out on the ensuing fight. Some fights last upwards of 20-30 minutes and no one wants to be sitting on the sideline watching. This in effect forces them to either 1) change their strat to how they approach that situation, 2) go with a sturdier build or 3) change armor to improve survivability.
I personally think the SoR militia are second to none. Months against BG forced the WvW guilds and the militia through brutal training. I personally think their level of play is many months ahead of other servers.
