I don’t understand the big hang up for passiflora accessories. Why not settler’s accessories of apoth instead? Much much cheaper same effect. Does passiflora have something settlers doesn’t provide?
Any NA uncontested Dwayna?
Hi all been playing ranger for a bit now in WvW and found myself getting decent success with clerics in my current build.
In this spec I sometimes swap from bird to cat pet and swap Sic Em for Sig of the Hunt and horn for dagger.
My question is whether I might find more success with a apothecary build or are they fairly comparable? I have tested sPvP but I find to be bad test ground because gear is not as customizable and limited smaller skirmishes are not comparable to WvW roaming/zerging.
Any opinions, tips, and critiques would be very appreciated!
Soooo any servers with Lyssa open?
Hi all,
I’m having trouble deciding which of these two classes to take to 80. I have a Ranger at 73 and a Thief at 54.
I like them both equally, but I know it would be really rough to try to flip-flop between them and it would be better to settle on one for a while until I get it geared up.
Which of the two would you think would be better to finish? Any and all pro, cons, opinions on both would be greatly appreciated.
With buffs to Warrior longbow skills my warrior now completely trounces my Rangers ability with a bow. Welp guess I know where to direct my full attention now. I was hoping it would be ranger, but Anet just doesn’t want to give this class the love it needs. Good luck with your rangers guys, its just not worth it to me. More than obvious that Anet is fully prepared to back the core classes and let supporting classes lag far behind.
I play ranger as my main and I think it is perfectly fine as is. If you don’t like that a large chunk of your damage is shared with a pet that you need to manage, then you picked the wrong class. There is a reason why you get to have so many pets and are able to change them on the fly out of combat. Predict the fight and choose the right pet for it. Most of the complaints seem to come from people who try to make one pet work for everything instead of using all that is available.
Survivability versus Damage along all specs seems to be perfectly fine in my experience. I here complaints about GS, but as that is my favorite sPvP weapon, I don’t see the problem with it.
The only problems I see needing a fix is bad pathing A.I. on the pets here and there and that pets will sometimes miss on moving targets passing by them. Its especially troublesome in some of the sPvP maps. Also spirit survivability doesn’t feel like its up to par for the buffs they currently provide and their long cool down times.

The prob with axe is that your biggest dps move, Splitblade, is a bleed attack that if you want to get the most out of it you gotta come into melee range. This is because if you come into point blank range, you can hit the primary target with all five axes and get all five bleeds ticking. The rest of the attacks for mainhand axe are mediocre at best doing very average damage. However Winter’s Bite is great for setting up a target for Splitblade.
Melee ranger is perfectly viable, but you have to be willing to give up some emphasis on power and precision for toughness and vitality if you want to live long enough to down a boss. If you pick the right pet that compliments your stats and play style, a pet can do as much or more damage than your character. I haven’t had to many problems with the pets, but most of the pathing problems seem to be in dungeons and I am rushing to 80 and not worrying about dungeons in the early game.
I primarily run with greatsword and then swap to axe/warhorn. Axe is great for easy aoe with with bouncing primary attack and aoe cone bleed. The warhorn provides a great swiftness/fury buff with a mediocre might buff for pumping up the party to do some quick burst.

Most of the classes seems 1 button to win for me sadly =/, thieves, elementals, and warriors mostly, the rest are a bit harder.
Hahahaha. This must be a PvE thing then. In PvP a warrior needs to use absolutely everything on their bar and really know how to use all the skills they have effectively to do well. Unfortunately this game is built 50/50 around pvp and about half the moves are utility abilities that lose their useful component if you are just fighting mobs that stand infront of you the entire time you fight.
If you want the most useful moves as a warrior in PvE then use axes. Eviscerate is a great burst finisher for blowing up one creature fast. Axe throw for pulling new mobs, and a small aoe attack on the 3rd move. With a 2nd axe you can get more offense with a 4th attack that increases your critical hit rate and a 5th whirlwind attack for taking out multimobs. WIth a shield you get a knock down and block for helping draw out a fight going bad while you wait for CDs to come back up or use a horn to pop speed on yourself and get to another kill faster. Warrior has great options and can easily be played with more than one button if you use the right weapon arrangement.
