I have literally the exact same setup, except a 560ti 1GB, and windows 7 x64.
About the same performance as you (maybe +10fps at the most, but that’s really pushing it)

Decreasing shadows gives me the only performance boost it seems, regardless of the resolution I play in.

To ask a few things (obvious things).
Updated drivers?

Full defrag lately?

Using ‘Razer’ Game booster at all?’

Cleaned processor fan/heatsink, and reseated all things. RAM/gfx card and cpu?

Hey guys, I haven’t played for about a month now (but played constantly through beta’s, headstart etc.)

I’ve been reading up that this games state is in bad shape right now (based on player feedback). Is it really true that people are just grinding for gear now? I loved this game for people being out in the world, and traveling around doing things. Not grinding for gear.

IS THERE HOPE!? lol

loaded my alt, logged out, loaded main fine. But then I warped back out of DR and now stuck at loading screen again…

Do not bother getting an old quad for this game as its horribly unoptimized and i ve yet to hear anything from ANET that this is gonna change.

Exact same setup—same performance (shadows make most improvement) and still seems like the 301 drivers are the best for me. I’ll probably try the new 306 ones eventually, but the beta ones were worse for me

PvP runs vastly better, but WvW fights slow to like 10fps (in big crowds)

Don’t get a Core 2 Quad (unless you can OC to 3.6 lol)

I don’t think this would be frowned upon at all (but that is just going off every other MMO I have played in existence).

Personal preference I realize, but that being said, the game will be very hard to play with a controller, but I’m sure you know this already going forth.

I did this upon my original install and it worked just fine.

Your in-game settings may be the same though (such as graphics) so you’ll probably want to edit those when doing so. On your second computer I mean.
