I cant seem to find the “console” in the Goemm´s Lab Jumping Puzzle to get my Volatile Compound. Where is it? i have done the whole JP and there is no place to interact and get that item

Has anyone completed the collection or has the same problem that i have? any help will be apreciated.

Ive mained ele for over 2 years and ive seen it evolve and get stronger up to a pretty good state nowadays. Cele dagger is godly on pvp and WvW roaming, Zerker staff is fun and super effective on most pve content, and fresh air s/x glass is a decent pvp and roaming spec (not meta, but still fun and viable)

I tried Tempest on the beta weekends. To be fair, i mostly agree with the criticism it gets: it doesnt feel rewarding to play it compared to traditional ele builds.

Having said that, im hopefull the devs will eventually nail the tempest. Ele is a difficult class to desing, moreso an atractive elite spec.

I really dont mind if tempest is not a good option when HoT launches: vanilla Ele is so much fun i keep playing it every day and i know even with the base specs ill still have lots of fun when HoT comes out :P

Elite: they should rework it to something more meaningfull. 25% CD reduction on a 60sec cooldown is not that awesome by itself, adding the fact that would only see some meaningfull use on coordinated pve or pvp stuff. Sadly, the current game doesnt take much coordination on neither of those areas, and even if it did, it stills feels lackluster for an elite.

Shouts are not that bad, but they dont give something useful for the current meta. No shout is more usefull for pve than the current stuff we run. The same goes for cantrips in pvp. They dont really add anything meaningfull other than auras for an aurasharing build.

Overloads: they should put a 1 sec or less cd on overloads. I wanna use them, but having to camp 5 secs after attunning is TOO MUCH. I dont mind having the extended attunement CD, but i would see the overloads getting more use if they could be used as soon as you enter an atunnement.

Also: rework the minor traits in Tempest: we NEED stability on overload more so than protection and EVEN moreso than swiftness.

No shout CD reduction trait seems really off as well.

So my ascended focus has dissapeared. No, is not on the bank, nor on another character, nor i deleted it. Its simply GONE.

Can i get some help here? i dont know what the hell happened!

Its definetly true weee need the celestial amulet, no question about it. But i mean, why make a case about playing with it or not? Celestial SHOULD be an option on pvp cause they wouldnt let us customize our stats as we desire on pvp like we can on WvW or PvE. Also why make a case on playing with different amulets? A build is a build as a whole, traits, weapons and gear. Elementalist by desing needs variety on the stats for a build like D/D, so is still “fair game” that we have access to those stats trough the amulet system.

But i think you are right with the whole Cele ammulet thing: Maybe shave off some of the stats on cele would be a better balance than nerfing D/D? Cause Cele Engie and Warrior are meta as well because of this amulet.

I mean, im no expert but it seems that any class that can pull balanced condi/power damage, bonus procs like gaining buffs of putting de debuffs on crits, and constant small heals trough regeneration and HPS traits or mechanics, would benefit more from the Cele amulet thant any other amulet, effectively making them a “metabuild” on the current state of the game. So the balancing issue is, at the end of the day, the Cele amulet and not the professions?

I definetly dont wanna se D/D ele nerfed to the ground, has been my main pvp spec for a lot of time and i still enjoy playing it, but it seems that the “Jack of all trades, master of none” desing has gone a little bit outta hand now that beeing the “master” of a particular trade doesnt seem to have much of an impact against balanced builds.

Anyway, so about the 27th nerf…

I feel is completely deserved. When i started playing D/D on pvp i went trough the whole phase many people has been trough, where i felt D/D was crap, ele was crap, worst pvp class, etc etc.

Now let me give u some context on my ele experiencie so u can see what has made me claim this nerf is deserved: When i started pvping with D/D i was still leveling my ele, i wasnt even lvl 80 on pve, but the pvp seemed so fun i just jumped right into it at level 40ish. I looked up the “best” pvp build for ele and i went D/D even tough i really didnt touched it that much on the pve world.

After been completely REKT on pvp again and again i decided to go back to my leveling on the pve world, but i started leveling D/D as well (i was using staff mostly prior to that point). And i think what happened was that, in order to survive on the pve world i had to really understand all the nuances of D/D and really get in tune with all the skills, cooldowns, and overall usage of the class and weapon set.

Then i went back to pvp (note this was still before the april 15th 2014 patch were we got really strong) and inmediately felt the D/D build a lot stronger. I wasnt the most op class or anything but it didnt fel subpar anymore, and hasnt felt that way since then (obviously there were some pretty op classes, hambow warrior anyone? but i was able to hold my ground and contribute to the team effort. I wasnt dead weight anymore!)

Now, some will think: Wait, so you are saying that playing pve helped your pvp skill? Thats ridiculous!

Actually, is not, and here is my reasoning behind it: For starters like me, the pacing of PvP compared to the pve world was WAY more violent and punishing to actually see what impact my skill rotation had over my foes. This wasnt the case in pve tho, i had the time to start learning to react to incoming attacks or properly using my attunements and combos. Since the pacing was more relaxed, i had the opportunity to disect what was going on, and eventually, the build became second nature to me.

So, why am i telling you all this stuff? Well, any proficient D/D player knows that since april 15th its been an uphill journey for us on the pvp side: The evade on burning speed,the blast finisher on frozen burst, the reduced cooldown on cantrips like mist form and armor of earth, the overall balancing and nerfing of other classes that were overtuned, etc etc.

Oh and also freaking celestial amulet and strength runes (praise the lord). We effectively became the Jesus Christs of PvP and we are holding one of the meta spots right now.

So, this nerf on 27th really doesnt worry me that much. Might with cele amulet is still gonna be PRETTY strong despite losing a 7th of its current power, drakes breath is still a strong condi and sure, we wont get as much health from lightning whip now but, to be fair, is not like we were on the brink of life and needed every single healing point back, did we? We are clearing condis and getting back to full health every 9 secs (if played properly of course) and we have amazing access to protection and regeneration trough most of the fights.

Now, eventough this is a nerf, i think is a well deserved one: we are too strong right now.

I remember the days where D/D was really hard and punishing if u made a little mistake, and u had to be aware of everything. You had to choose your fights cause there were some builds you just couldnt beat at all.Now, after all this time I have founded myself wrecking people without any worry of what spec they were or anything cause i just knew D/D was so strong i would eventually best them. Winning 2v1s and surviving up to 3 or 4 people at the same time eventough im not a full tank spec.

A bad to average D/D player will probably feel the nerf is undeserved, but i think most experienced D/D veterans would agree that we are overtuned right now and Anet had to do some shaving to D/D power to balance things out.

We are still gonna be pretty strong and going nowhere on the meta i think. Also im glad S/F builds are getting some love, since those are my 2nd favorite ele spec for pvp.

Anyway, i wanna know the toughs of the Ele community on this matter.

Also, i know me claiming out of the blue that im a good D/D player without proving is wrong, so hopefully ill make a D/D video guide after the 27th to back up my claims

Remove it from unranked also, today we got a team of thieves that kill one of us and then stealthed trough the whole thing.

I dont mind this cheese in hotjoin, but if its gonna make me waste 10 min on a worthless fight…yeah, it sucks big time.

So pls remove this HIGHLY EXPLOITABLE map from unranked as well, sadly some people ruin pvp for the rest of us with this kind of crap

Magnetic Grasp & Lightning Flash

The burning speed / lightning flash combo where u dashed forward at the end of your lightning flash re-location worked fine until the september patch. Now instead of going forward, you burningspeed back after the lightning flash.

this got screwed after the patch. Before i never had this happen, not even with lag.

Has anyone had the same experience?

When i started playing D/D ele a year ago, i also felt it was underpowered and all the bad stuff u read in the forums.

One year later, things couldnt be more diferent. Not only a well builded and played D/D build is balanced in the current pvp meta: in the right hands its REALLY strong. There are very few builds that cant hard-counter me and i pretty much feel im doing great in pvp. Its a really strong build, probably one of the strongest 1v1 builds out there.

The thing is: its takes a fair amount of skill and practice to get all the potential of it. And im not saying its a “skillcap” build cause im doing good at it: these are just the facts. If u enjoy the class like i do, stick to it and keep practicing. The rewards are SO worth of your time and patience.

Also, pvp in this game is HARD. Despite what some may say, a new player has to learn A LOT to be able to compete with veterans. So dont feel bad if u are havin troubles with a high skill cap class/build and u are a new player.

Stick with ele. High skill cap, but its usefull on every type of game:

solo pve content? A lot of different builds. I run fresh air/full arcana D/D for world completion. A lot of mobility and damage.

Support pve? Staff is awesome both on the offense and defense<

PVP? You have a lot of builds wich are great: Staff bunker, staff glass canon, fresh air burst/ fresh air roamer / D/D roamer, D/F roamer. I´ve mained ele for almost a year and D/D classic build is one of the best pvp builds out there, if played properly u make people ragequit

WvW? Staff ele for zerk fights its mandatory, D/D bunker its a solid roaming choice. S/D or S/F fresh air builds in small groups are deadly.

My first toon was an ele and i really dont enjoy playing any other class as much as my elementalist. I do everthing: pve, pvp, WvW, and its still fun. Hasnt gotten old for me yet.

Hit me in-game for all things elementalist if u decide to stick with the class

They oughta make the elementals attack trigger instantaneously and out of the global cooldown ( sort of like some utilities and auras, which are instant and dont interrupt other abilities)
and that would make them decent i think.

I have played an elementalist from day one, about 11 months ago. Im leveling an engineer right now, because out of all the other classes, is the only one that has that sort of “jack of al trades” feel that the ele has.
The thing is, cooldown tracking between all the “weapon sets” on the engi is easy, cause kits dont have a cooldown and switching doesnt punish you at all if some ability you wanted to use on that set was on cooldown. Totally different things with elementalist atunemments: if you atune too early, you can get stuck on an atunement that maybe was only worth for the ability you cant use in that moment.
So, originally i wanted to open this thread to ask for a way for us elementalist to keep better track of our cooldowns: Something that allow us to see the cooldowns on an atunement without actually changing to that atunemment or getting any benefits from it, like some sort of ability lock out that still lets us check that atunement even tough we cant use it.
Having said that, i would like to know how cooldown tracking works on the overall desing of the classes. Since engineer is the onlyone who can change between weaponsets with a minimal cooldown, do the developers want this to be like that cause of balance between classes? Like…been able to see our cooldowns per atunement on the elementalist would give us some sort of “unfair advantage”?
I would like to know the comunity´s opinion on cooldown tracking between clases.
