Warriors are pretty strong right now, but will be seeing changes in an upcoming patch.

We like how they can be tanky, and we like how they can do DPS if they want. We also like the CC they can bring. We just don’t like them doing it all with 1 build.

Therefore, I’m posting this in the hopes that we dont end up seeing an OVER nerfed version of Warriors, and end up back in the dark ages of the pre-healing buff. I still shudder when I think back to how bad War’s were in any attrition battle….

I think Unsuspecting foe is the worst offender in the entire class, with it’s + 50% crit in the adept tier. It’s easy to see why one might take it in a Mace+GS or Hammer+GS build; this single trait can take a Tanky/CC build and add huge DPS all by itself. The fix? Simple: Move to master, or nerf it numerically.

Healing Signet is the subject of lots of debate. I can understand the issue. It’s a powerful passive heal. I’ve got a few ideas that may help balance it out, so it remains as useful for Tanky builds, but not the Best-In-Slot for all builds.

• Current Base: 392 HP/S, + HealingPower * 0.05 (467 HP/S @ 1500 Heal Pow)

Simple Number Tweaking

• Retuned Base: 360 HP/S + HealingPower * 0.07 (465 HP/s @ 1500 Heal Pow)

I have stood up long enough for this class; especially in the damage area but the time has ended, out of others frustration and despair.

I will always believe that a warrior should be the stongest damage dealers; in terms of melee’- not thief (ever) in mmo’ but the irony and pain in this game is that they are over powered beyond any mmo’s to date.

In addition to this irony and despair, the one and only weapon that make them overpower is the hammer.

Well the nightmare doesn’t end there,,

Their hammer is fully equipped with excessive Permas beyond any class weapons in the game, and to me that is bad design.

As other has continiously pointed out out of frustrations as well, warrior hammer need to be seriously dealt with a.s.a.ap

Well my call is to take it up to the next level; to completely removed it from them until it can be fully balanced.

There are thousands of outrcries against the OP thief class but recently the tide has calemed down a bit; which is carefuly being montiored, yet this notourious tide (warrior), has gone totally gone out of control and must be stopped.

Arena.net, i sincerly encourage you to take this into full consideration to end this outrageous vision of an Overpowerd Perma hammer warrior in your game

To much immaturity on GW2 forums! I went WoW (8 years)—->Rift—->WoW—-GW2, and I can honestly say that even the WoW forums are FAR more adult and mature then GW2 forums! Soooo many crybabies in this game!

I dont see myself sticking to GW2 if these first weeks impression of the overall GW2 community turns out to be true.
Its sad because it really seems like an awsome game otherwise. Its just that personaly, a good community is one of my top priorities when deciding what game I will be putting my time into!

I have seen many good and viable points from all of your posts so far but i also see many rude comments like name calling. I feel sorry for those people.
I have lvl 80’s of elementilist, thief, ranger, warrior,gaurdian and neco. I have been playing this game since beta and I am also a vet of GW 1. I have plenty of experince with this game and almost all classes. Yes as a thief you can troll zergs or irritate a group 1v5 but that’s all u can really do is irritate them. You can heal zergs as a ele or a gaurd, etc… I could talk forever about this. The fact remains since arena net has nerfed the warrior i have not been killed once as a warrior by another class besides a warrior and I know there are better players then myself in other classes, PvP and WvW. Try to 1v1 some other classes as a warrior and you will see. Please give me more feed back and TY

Could those reactions possibly have anything to do with your immature and agressive OP? You are behaving like a spoilt child in your OP! Threatening the company to quit the game if YOU dont get your will through. What valuations does that kind of behaviour teach your son?

I can assure you that threatening Anet that you and your son will quit the game if they dont do what you tell them to do is NOT the best way to make them take you seriously in an way or form!

IF the Warrior class actually is overpowered im sure they are aware of this and are working on possible solutions/ideas how to fix it in a good way right as im writhing this post. It could also be that they are waiting/watching how the meta game is evolving.
It could very well be that the Warrior isnt OP at all but instead other classes needs some time to figure things out.

Either way im 100% sure that the developers are following game balance closely. They dont want their game to look bad you know as that would make their company lose money.

Here is an example, Warriors get 400 health per tick with their healing signet and with a Thief you only get 300 health per tick while in stealth

Warrior gets 392 base with a 0.05 coefficient. Thief gets 293 with a 0.1 coefficient. Also, Healing Signet is a healing skill, not a passive trait. And you could outheal a Warrior by taking Shadow Protector which would provide you with Regeneration, putting you at 423 with a 0.175 coefficient.

warriors also have almost 10k health more than thieves

So do Necromancers. Also, Engineers, Rangers and Mesmers have about 5k more than Thief.

Warriors can hit with skill 4 on hammer up to 7k while a full berserker thief hits for only 6k to 9k [depending on the toughness of the character] in stealth on a backstab.

Anecdotal evidence, which btw is bullkitten. Backstab is a 1.2 or 2.4 coefficient whereas Staggering Blow is 1.3. In case you don’t know what that means, with identical stats, if a Warrior is Staggering Blowing you for 7,000, you’ll Backstab for 13,000. Heck, even if you count Merciless Hammer for the 25% damage increase, that’s still only a 1.625 coefficient, which is a farcry from Backstab. So the only way a Backstab deals less damage is an unfair comparison or Backstabbing the front.

Hammer Stun really?? they can use it like every 4 seconds depending on their build.

The lowest cooldown on a burst skill is 7.75 seconds. The only way you’re going to stun more often than that is to use Mace and weaponswapping, but that just means you’re pulling off one stun every 5s. Unless you’re running into warrior who use Rune of Warrior, which no one does.

So in summary: All of your claims are exaggerated, misleading or anecdotal bullkitten.

I absolutely love this post! Good arguing post that points out all the exaggerations and straight out lies in the OP. Doing so by using mathematic and mechanics of the game! Theres no way the OP (or anyone else) can argue against this.

Theres no point in asking this kind of question on the forum because of the simple fact that you will NEVER get a unanimous answer anyway.

Im confused! In your original post you say “Im going to make a Warrior but i just want to know which race i should choose… And i dont care about which one is better or not (if thats possible). But im just going for the looks”.

Then, as a edit, you say “But i want to Solo Roam in WvW for 75% of my time and 25% ofmy time ill do Dungeons and other PvE activities But most of all Solo Roaming and if its possible taking out at as many people as i can”

What makes me confused is that first you say that you DONT care what races that are the better ones and then, listening to you other statements, it really seems like you DO care what race is the better one.

Hi! First I want to say that im new to the game so I appologize if im asking something obvious.

I put 5 points into discipline and the first skill “Versatile Rage” is higlighted (“Gain adrenailne on weaponswap”). To me this sounded really good until I tried it hehe. The thing is that I dont seem to be getting any adrenaline when I weapon swap!? What am I missing here? Because obvioulsy it is something?

Hello, Im new to the game trying to decide what class to play and I have narrowed it down to Guardian and Warrior. I have leveled both of them to 20:ish lvl and find them approximately equally fun (sligt edge here to Warrior, not by much though :P). However it feels like the Guardian have quite a bit better survivability so far. The Warrior just seems to die alot easier and it has been that way “all” the way up to lvl 20.

Overall which of the two classes have the most survivability? If any, does it come in expense of less damage?
Which of the two classes are best for soloing PvE content?
Last but least, why do YOU love your Warrior? What about the class excites you?
