this will sound extremely silly, but i have the same exact issue and for me to get it to work, i just unplugged my headset, which is a logitech wireless usb headset. for some reason it doesn’t let it read the Memory at address * could not be read.

Wow, thanks man! I’ve been having this error and tried everything I could think of to no avail.. After reading your post, unplugged my Logitech USB headset, logged in, and bam, no more errors. Crazy how it’s always something little.

Hi Afterglo

The issue seems to be driver related which you can see listed next to “Module” in the crash log you provided:

Module: nvd3dum.dll

I would first recommend a clean installation of your video card drivers.

Just did a clean installation of the video drivers, hopped into wvwvw for about 5 minutes and crashed again. I also stress tested my system for about a half an hour out of curiosity, and there were no problems.

c0000005 often occurs with driver or GPU issues.

  • Might want to try using DriveSweeper to clean out video drivers and re-install again.
  • Check for 3rd party overlay apps (see Part 5.5)
  • Try underclocking the GPU

I’ll try reinstalling the drivers, but I have a feeling the problem will persist from what I’ve read of others’ posts. Would underclocking a GTX 670 for this game only really be necessary? Appreciate the suggestions.

Edit: I also don’t have any overlay apps enabled.

Just started playing the game again for the first time since a couple weeks after launch. Didn’t seem to have any problems then, but now the client crashes randomly with the attached error (Had to save in a txt file because I guess I went over the character limit here). I have no problems in other games, I’ve tried -repair, and I have AOE effects or whatever enabled. I’ve looked through the forums a bit, and have yet to find a solution for this but I apologize if it’s out there already.

System specs:
i5-3570k
GTX 670
8 gb ddr3 1600
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
*Using 306.97 drivers, haven’t updated because I’ve read pretty negative things about every release since.
