I’m not a fan of the way they did dialogue or story cut-scenes in this game either to be certain. In all fairness though, an MMO can’t easily have cut-scenes like the ones you posted above. Those games have one character mesh and voice actor to build around, allowing much more flexibility in the creation of those scenes.
This MMO has 5 races, most with significant sexual dimorphism between genders. Additionally each model can be customized and resized. Each race and gender has a different voice actor. I feel with these issues on the minds of the developers, they elected to take a cheaper and easier method of storytelling. Unfortunately that philosophy appears to bleed through into many other aspects of the personal story.
Doesn’t appear to be listed on Guru. Sorry if this has been asked and answered before.
That shouldn’t make a difference with the champion loot dropping lodestones according to most. I would think the two would cancel each other out. I suspect you are right about the COF nerf, but that shouldn’t have hit the market yet.
How do you think the balance between champions lodestone drops and the changes to dungeon rewards will effect the market for these?
Reason for edit: Rephrase to for clairty and eliminate appearance of Pump and Dump. I noted it looked bad after reading Articluna’s response. That was not my intent.

This would be an epic solution to the Minstrel issue.
Being a real world cakittenem in the gem store, Arena Net needs to prioritize cleaning up the utilization of the minis. Many people who might otherwise use or collect minis do not right now because of the auto deposit issue. Arenanet would realize a direct financial profit from correcting this simple issue.
One might say you have ample time during the crafting process to understand you are making a 2nd tier legendary. One may also wonder why a 2nd tier legendary would exist in the first place as well.
Inside the instanced area of the Vigil Keep in the room with General Soulkeeper, there is a desk with a note titled “Note from Forgal.” The desk and note highlight as a usable item when I mouse over it, but I cannot activate it or read the note. I was hoping finishing my personal story would make it usable but this is not the case. I would really like to know my mentor’s last message to my character.
Thanks
This is an excellent theory. Bump for further discussion.
I’d throw my hat in the ring for a customizable guild airship.
If I recall, villagers there talk about occasionally the wizard in the castle taking apprentices from the town. Apprentices that never return. I’m guessing the elementals are the transformed villagers. Also, this castle has considerable history with a certain quest line and character from Guild Wars 1.
While it’s true Guild Wars 1 characters did not have meaningful gear stat progression, it would be a mistake to believe there was no end game power progression. Guild Wars 1’s skill system was in many ways similar to Magic The Gathering or other collectible card games when it came to acquiring new abilities. There were hundreds of skills in the game, of which you could only use eight at a time. As you could select skills from your own class and skills from any off-class, the combinations were impressive.
Also consider the method of acquiring new elite skills. It required you to seek out specific rare creatures that already had the skill you wanted, and capture those skills by killing them with a certain signet activated. Beyond that you were not just acquiring skills for your character, but for all the heroes that went with your character to create very complex and engaging four or eight man builds depending on the interaction of up to 64 different skills at once.
I think this is the biggest difference between the games. Hitting max level in Guild Wars 1 was inconsequential. The end game engagement in PVE was the ever increasing layers of complexity and nuance you could bring to bear.
I tend to feel there should be a range of tastes available along a “plausibility spectrum.” On the one side we would have more historical and realistic garb. On the other we would have the highly fanciful / impossible / skimpy outfits. Unfortunately the light armor options are overwhelmingly weighted towards the skimpy and exotic for females.
Also unfortunately new armor sets in MMOs tend to always try to one-up the last set in terms of do-dads, particle effects, and widgets they stick on the armor. I would encourage the designer to include a set of more minimalist outfits soon.
The first step towards the gear treadmill has been taken. I hope they get a reality check from this thread and the overwhelming negative response from the fans of this game. The reality for me is they were willing to compromise their values after just 3 months. If they roll this back I may continue to play, but I won’t trust them like I used to.
No to the new items.
When / if guild halls are implemented, I think it would be great if one of the options involved having an airship, either docked or perhaps a good sized one in flight far above the ocean.
