Transcribed this for a friend, might as well add it to the list!
It’s a nice One Piece song, it’s a pretty unique song in that it can be played in two different ways within the same key and still be “correct”. One way may be more easy to play than the other, so pick your favorite I guess!

Hey there. Aikata here. I made this .
I honestly haven’t played the game in quite some time, but I’ve always been quite proud of this thread I made. Three years of collaboration, dozens of players working together, over 350 unique songs linked to their original creator’s post for credit and pertinent notes…it’s quite nice. After some searching though, I actually found several posts about another music collection.
It has a program that allows you to set macros for different songs and export/import them for sharing through the site. The site has over 2,500 submissions. (Wow)
I hadn’t realized how big macro playing had gotten over the past couple of years. It seems I missed all the drama when Anet sanctioned macro use for playing instruments. Even if you don’t like using macros, there’s an option to export the notation for manual play.
Honestly, it’s a little disheartening that manual play is so overshadowed now. One thing I loved about GW2’s music system is that you actually had your hands on something performing the song, not just throwing some numbers and symbols into a script and pressing play (Lord of the Rings, ArcheAge). It’s the closest you get to feel like being an actual musician in an MMO.
The site itself is well-made though. The songs sound good, though whether or not they individually work in game is up for testing. One thing that is a bit rough is that the manual play script is simply a giant block of numbers and arrows and not curated for phrasing or readability…but I guess that’s simply what the musician in me would want, and the sheer number of songs make up for that low point.
Maybe I should label the thread as manual only, haha. I guess I’m disappointed that skillful players get overshadowed by keyboard scripts now. Oh well, stepping off the soap box now.
One of my favorite songs done by one of my favorite composers from one of my favorite games.

Oh hey! Someone’s actually been posting here! Neat. I’ve updated the list with your submissions. You’re on the list.
Also, spoilers probably wasn’t working for you because of all of the brackets you’ve got going on there. I noticed your notation doesn’t use more than two octaves, it might be worth it to change it using parentheses where necessary.
The original Flute Sheet Music Thread got moved to the Community Creations forum so several of the links were broken. It happened about…4 months ago? Seeing how nobody has posted in these 4 months though I guess it’s alright lol.
Still open to REQUESTS if anybody has one. I actually don’t have GW2 installed at the moment, but I don’t really need it for transposing anymore.
See ya~
Hey everyone, just letting y’all know I still check on this thread pretty often. (My new job has a surprising amount of downtime.)
I’ve been feeling pretty musical lately, so I’m open to a few requests! Just head it off with REQUEST so its easy to pick out in case the thread starts to explode again. Cheers!
(edited by Aikata.7095)
I’m confused, how do I tell which song uses which instrument? Which thread should I go to if I’m completely knew (really old thread, old thread, or this thread?). If I only have enough money for one instrument, which one should I buy?
Almost all of the songs can be played on all of the instruments.
The first instrument released, the flute, only had two octaves and that’s when the oooooold thread was started. That’s why most songs are notated in two octaves as well. Since then, most instruments released have been three octaves which gave more wiggle room for writing. I can say very few songs here actually take advantage of this though.
The list on this thread is the definitive one. It links back to the original post with the song notation for whatever one you clicked on. (If it doesn’t and instead takes you to the first or last post of the thread, let me know!)
I would suggest taking a look at the songs here and finding a few you might like to play. Then decide if those might sound better on flute, harp, lute, etc. Here are a couple of examples that might help.
Dearly Beloved – Flute …Featuring me! Didn’t know this had 10k views now, lol.
Legend of Zelda Medley – Lute and Harp Use this as an example for their kind of sound, but do keep in mind the chords being performed on the lute are difficult(if not impossible) to do without macros.
Hope this helped!
Hey there,
this is my first song ever, I hope it is at least somewhat correct.
The song is Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel and is written for flute.22 44 665

444 66 (112 21)
44 (22 2344 321 21)6
444(1) 342
repeat it about five times and you should have the whole song.I am really sorry for any mistakes I made (English is not my native language)
Hey there Melanie! The song sounds great, played through with no problem~
I would only suggest one small edit on the last line to make it a little easier to play since 8 = (1) on flute:
4448 342
It’s all good either way, so I’ll add it to the list~
There is a severe lack of Undertale in this thread…let me fix that.

Stay determined, my friends.
Well hello there, forums. It’s been a while.
Just a small Christmas present for you all: I fixed all the links to the old threads. It was quite a bit more difficult this time around with all the changes made to the URL’s from the confusing bit of transfers that happened a year ago, but they should all work now. (Let me know if they don’t.)
I honestly haven’t played in a quite a long time. I really don’t know if these notations are even relevant anymore. It’s always killed me a little that all the players’ work was going to waste in a dusty old thread somewhere though….so here we are.
Really can’t promise I’ll be updating the thread or fulfilling requests on a regular basis (full time job op), but do continue to gather your songs together. Someone else may find the drive to take all the links (that are rather well organized if I do say so myself) to a new thread if I disappear for a year again and continue forward. We’ll see what happens though.
In the meantime, Merry Christmas and enjoy making some music!!!
Edit: Will be adding notations submitted before this post later today. Done!
(edited by Aikata.7095)
This commenter played Shadow of the Colossus on the harp. Is it possible to transfer that to the bells?
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/271z53/requestshadow_of_the_colossus_the_opened_way_for/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbGWpZ5YUq4
Edit: in general, how hard is it to transfer songs from one instrument to another? I know the bells are only one note different, but the "nicer" bells are missing the whole bottom octave!
The instruments in GW2 may be in different keys, but 1 will always be the first note in that key just like 5 will always be the fifth. It’ll sound different, but it’ll still be "correct". Almost every song listed here will be played in GW2 in a different key than the original, so it’s nothing to worry about.
The only issue comes with the octaves. Indeed you, only have two octaves to work with. An easy fix would be to play the parts that are too high an octave down. Real musicians do this too, haha.
I just so happen to have the Shadow of the Colossus OST myself, so I wrote it out for you. Part 1 will be fine, but you’ll have to change octaves for Part 2. Part 3 was fun to write, but not practical to play in GW2. Props if you get it though!

Hey everyone!
Thanks to the great folks at Anet, our old threads have been removed from the archive and saved from purgatory! Due to how large and popular this thread has been and also how it’s in a more popular subforum, I believe we should migrate back here to continue our legacy! The links are still broken at the moment, but it won’t take long to fix them. Thank you for your patience! So just to be clear…
Please post all new submissions and requests in this thread!
We’re back home!
Edit: Links are fixed! Enjoy!
(edited by Aikata.7095)
Hello everyone!
So I’ve finally decided that we should move back to the old thread. We haven’t even reached a page here, and the original thread is in a more popular subforum as well. With that being said…
Please post all new submissions and requests in The Sheet Music Thread.
Edit: I answered your question in the other thread, The Demacian.
Edit 2: Nevermind. Old threads were moved back to Community Creations and closed, so move has been canceled. Links are broken again. Will fix tomorrow…
Please continue to use this thread as the main one.
Sorry for the confusion.

Touhou
Touhou, is in fact, a game series.
Thank you! Fixed!
Here’s some more for you:
1. Get choir bell. The old one.
2. Press 04, 242 987, 5780 4, 94
3. Go to 2.Repeat until you get blue in the face, or longer if you can.
Unfortunately, you can’t ride the broom while you play, so you won’t have the appropriate face matching the song, which is the same face seen on humans riding the broom.
You can’t also sing the lyrics on chat, since writing repeatedly
PINK FLUFFY UNICORNS DANCING ON RAINBOWS
Will quickly trigger the automatic chat moderation.
And… let’s see… Hm… we don’t have a ‘whistle’ instrument or /claps emote with sound, so the Lute or the Harp will have to do with this one.
Hm… hm… Here. The chorus should be enough…

Wow. You know, I’m not even what to categorize that under LOL. Gravity Falls theme is very nice though, if you could add a title for it in your post, that would be awesome too!
So someone made a request for this here a long time ago…but I was browsing through old stuff and it caught my eye (and my ear).
I liked how chill the song is, but it turned out to be a little challenging. Props to anyone who can play the improv section at the end!

If you wish to post music with the same bracket format, be sure to check "Disable Textile" so that your notes don’t become links to nowhere. I was preparing to post a harp version that included the chords, but I was quite limited by the music system and decided to skip it.
If you’d like to see how I notate chords, see an example here.

A very commendable effort, klarkc! In fact, if you had done the first two lines starting on (1) instead, then the rest of the notes would have been perfect! I hope you don’t mind that I updated it a bit.
Also, a tip for other composers out there. As you all know, 8 = (1) because they are the same note. Therefore, both of these lines are audibly the same…
(111)5(132 3)
8885(132 3)
…but one is a lot easier to play since you only have to switch octaves once! I had forgotten until I started typing this one out and figured the player might appreciate it, lol. As always, enjoy!

Thanks a lot Aikata !
Btw,do you think the other songs have a chance aswell or are they just to difficult to make into a sheet?
Edit: Gaile, can you pretty Please with sugar on top make his topic into a sticky ? You know he deserves it ;d
They do have a chance, I just tend to jump on things that interest me the most. I think I might go back and add the trills since I’ve seemed to sort of be able to do them. What do you think? How does it sound for you?
Have fun, Caedmon. Had to omit the trills because of limitations of the music system, but it still sounds great.

Also, first time I’ve gotten a red comment…and from the famous Gaile Gray, no less! I’m not fanboying at all. (squee)
Hey Aikata ! Thanks for the new thread again. Am i still able to make a request ? Ive made a request in the previous topic which is about 3 months old now,but due to it being archived i couldn’t get a response.
I’d love to see some Lost Oddyssey songs come to live, since there aren’t any around.Anyway these are the songs i’d love to be able to play
I’m sure you like the songs enough to make them into a sheet…Right ? ;d.
Happy holidays btw !
Yes, make all the requests you want! Hopefully we’ll get word out that we have an active thread again and our regular composers will return. I might even give it a shot myself. :P
Oh wait…composed by Uematsu-sama? That might just turned into probably, lol.
Thanks for clarifying, though it was kinda obvious in hindsight. xD
For those interested, the new thread is up and functional! Have fun!
Hey all, just wanted to talk a little out of the OP. Came back to visit the old thread and was really sad to see all the broken links. I hadn’t logged into the game in forever, but I was always proud of seeing what all of the hard work of the community created while also showing Arenanet how much we love the music system. I didn’t want to let it die, so I decided to update all of the posts and bring it here for you!
Feel free to let me know about broken links, new version of songs, etc. Thanks again for sticking around.

Hey everyone! Aikata here with another sheet music thread! We’ve come a long way from our original thread. Both this and the old thread got archived, so we made a new thread, but then Anet was amazing and brought us out of the archives…so now we’re back here!
Original Thread / Archived Thread
Same deal as before: Look through and find your favorite songs to play! Post new songs in this thread and I’ll (occasionally) come back to add them to the list. As stated previously, I won’t be keeping a list of requests anymore, but feel free to fulfill them as a songwriter! Here are the general guidelines as stated in the previous thread.
For song writers:
Many of you will notice that songs from the older thread were written in various ways. Some used “—-” to denote note length while others used spacing. Some used nothing at all, which is fine, too. The biggest hassle came from denoting which octave to play in. While creating this thread, I saw many, MANY variances, and I think it is agreeable that to keep these songs as accessible as possible we should make notation as simple as possible. For this, I quote Donari from the previous (previous) thread:
Donari.5237:Formatting! I, the horrible non-musician, have found the ones done in this format the easiest to touch-type and produce ( the below is not an actual tune, just the idea of how to type one):
5 (123 4 223 1) 786 5 (456 6 456)
Where a plain number is the lower octave and anything in parentheses is the higher one. That way each time I see a ( or a ) I know it is time to tap the 9 and it stands out as not being a note, plus sequences clearly show which octave they are in. And a space means let the note hang a moment before hitting the next one.
I’m voting for all the posted songs to be in that format. Also for more classical and folk. Much love to the skilled music makers who can help us all sound classy!
Continuing this method, I suggest this for three octave instruments:
Low Octave
(Middle Octave)
[High Octave]
Here’s an example for harp (also including a notation guide for chords if you’re feeling really snazzy…).
I also ask that we use the spoiler format to reduce page length, like shown.
2 345 (12) 53
212 53 212 53
Repeat.
(6 54 3215 31 223) 76
(6 54 3215 31 223) 76 (3)
2 345 (12) 53
212 53 212 53
Repeat the whole thing as much as you’d like!
For requests: Please start your post with a bolded REQUEST to make it easier to spot!
Thanks for your continued contributions, and happy music-making!

Hello guys. Aikata here. Been a while since I logged on, but I went to check on my old thread in the audio thread and found that the links no longer work. Because it’s archived, I can’t change the links either.
I plan to make a new thread, but the new forums don’t give much direction for where it should go. Does it go in community creations? Or somwhere else, like here?
Thanks for your help! You’ll have a functioning sheet music thread again soon!

Please can you make sheet music to this

I would really appreciate it, especially the second one.
Don’t think the alien one is possible just listening quickly, but I’ll make sure later.
This one was fun to make. Unfortunately, the 5 in the ‘357’ run is incorrect because of an accidental, but it suffers little from it. Enjoy!

A request if possible – “Only Time” by Enya (song for the volvo advert with Jean Claude Van Damme)?
^O yes, seconding that request for Only Time by Enya.
By popular demand…lol.
There is a very clear key change in the bridge that isn’t playable, so I left that section out. All the good stuff is there though. Enjoy!

I decided to try Fake Wings… It may not be right!
I hope the requester still reads this and sees it..It was a pain finding tabs that weren’t chords or strange wobbly things I don’t understand.
A commendable effort Sahfur! You got the rhythm down fine, only the notes were a bit off. :P
Didn’t get too into the anime, but .Hack//’s soundtrack always struck me in awe and haunted me at the same time. Yuki Kajiura is a fantastic composer. Here is an updated version for all to enjoy. Including lyrics because they are just as beautiful as the melody.
Fake Wings – .Hack//

I would like to request a snippet from a song for a friend of mine. The song is called “Red like Roses” from the 3D animation series “RWBY” made by Monty Oum and the other members of Roosterteeth.
Not sure if you’re still looking for this, but I couldn’t resist as a RWBY fan myself. Unfortunately the key changes at the “black the beast” section, so it will sound somewhat different from the original. I hope you and your friend can still enjoy it though.
Red Like Roses – RWBY
Guitar:
8 7 8 7 8 7 (32)87 Repeat twice.
8 7 6 5 6 5
8 7 8 7 8 7 (32)87 Repeat once.
67(123) 8 7 8 6 67(123) 8 7 8 5
Vocals:

3 2 3 2 3 5 6 7 (1 1 2 11 2 2)
8 7 (1 2) 8 7 6 3 8 7 (1 2 3 ) 6
So I picked up the harp. Wasn’t too big of a fan until I learned about chords. I know this isn’t a harp thread, but this one really sounds fantastic. Guide for chords are there too. Might add a demonstration video later. Enjoy!

Repeat as desired.
Also, this.
After looking at the version of Let it Go we already have, I figured out how to flesh it out a bit more.
I have two versions of Let it Go from Frozen for you guys. One is for harp (uses all three octaves) and the other is for flute (only two octaves). There is only a single number/note that changes between the two. In both versions, the key changes that occur in the bridge make it incorrect. Numbers with ^ before them are not possible to play, but I tried to make it work anyway. Same for the instrumental in the beginning.
Warning: I stayed very true to the lyrics and melodies, so it may seem a bit difficult. Reference the original if you’re having trouble.
Have fun!
