Do Sylvari cry tears?

I’ve heard sylvari NPCs do the /cry emote, but would sylvari cry actual tears? If so, what are those tears made of? Salt water wouldn’t make sense, so would it be like sap that’s found in normal plants?

Best order for ranger

He sounds like great Order of Whispers material! Since those who awakened in the Cycle of Night tend to be secretive and independent, and with a pet stalker at his side… He sounds like he prefers working quietly to keep everyone safe (not much of a glory hound, is he?), so I can see him as an Order of Whispers Slayer: on the wiki it says they’re “members tasked with taking care of dangerous threats to the Order.” And if he happened to somehow get caught, he could charm his way out of the situation!

Personally, I had my Sylvari Ranger join the Priory, but that’s because she loves adventure and learning (she got along quite well with Sieran!). She awakened during the Cycle of Dawn, and her quality is charm, so she’s very friendly and is great at diplomacy. Since she’s now a druid, she’s very healing-focused, and loves helping others!
She dreamed of the Shield of the Moon, and she believes that the most important of Ventari’s teachings is “Where life goes, so too, should you.”

Next time you see it, run towards it! If you can reach it before it disappears, you unlock a little quest track in the “Current Events” achievements called “Burden of Choice”, which starts with traveling to the Priory to ask for help. If you complete the requirements, you can actually get rid of it and stop seeing it!

Personal Request for Armor

Dear Sir or Madam,

I greatly enjoy the game “Guild Wars 2,” thank you for offering such a masterpiece for free! I have played it for almost a year now, and recently purchased the expansion “Heart of Thorns,” which I am pleased with as well! There is one matter that upsets me: the discrepancy that is common between the male and female armor sets.

For a game that seems “progressive” in many ways (e.g. including same-sex couples and having game characters treat male and female player characters equally), I find many of the armor sets “sexist,” for lack of a better word. Some armor sets where I noticed that the female’s set was particularly more revealing than the male’s set are as follows:

Heavy Vigil’s Honor armor
Light Whisper’s Secret armor
Tier 2 light Norn cultural amor
Tier 3 medium Norn cultural armor
Tier 3 heavy Norn cultural armor
Tier 3 light Human cultural armor
Tier 3 medium Human cultural armor
Tier 1 light Sylvari cultural armor
Tier 2 light Sylvari cultural armor
Tier 1 medium Sylvari cultural armor
Tier 1 heavy Sylvari cultural armor

Some of the differences are so large that I would hardly recognize them as the same set of armor!

I understand that Guild Wars 2 is a game, and, therefore, realism is not to be expected at all times, but why would a woman choose to expose her breasts, sides, and legs when that would give her a severe disadvantage in battle? Especially among the heavy armor sets, which are for professions whose role would be on the frontline of a battlefield, and yet many of the female’s armor sets are not aptly described as “heavy.”

I also understand that it would be a time-consuming task to resign any armor set and implement that new design into the game, and much more so for dozens of armor designs; as such, I want to stress that I am not asking you to redesign any existing armor (even though I would love to see some of my favorite armor sets made more modest). All I ask is that you consider this letter, and my plea, when or if you design more armor, and that you make the design for the female’s to match the male’s in style, modesty, and functionality.

Yours faithfully,
