Well as for DDs 1 run should be simply longer and give more badges or same amount, but lower the price at vendor…. I personally don’t mind spending 50h+ dungedoning to get full set, but doing same DD 30-50 times over and over again is a different story.
Main problem of GW2 is that everything is to fast… LVLing up to 80 takes (depends on commitment to the game form hardcore-player to casual) 2-21days. For casual it is no bad, but I do agree that part with LVLing is singleplayer, with parts of good MMO. At that point you can still aim at 100% of map. That should take another 7-35 days. Later is collecting EQ. As for crafted, after 100% of map it takes top 1 week no matter of game style. So far no grind, but no MMO also. Than you can do DDs and start MMO. So you can do each one once + all path, so 4 times, and that will take 2-32 days.
As for casual nice 3 months of game…. As for more dedicated player 1M tops. After that grind it is. If you could only save progress in DD, and full run would take 3h instead of 15-20min, than it would be different story. Same with lvling. You can get up to 80. with 30% or less map completion….. And with event system it should be something near 100% + many events behind. Not mentioning event should be hard to complete and longer. Fight with mobs (zones 50+) should be tough alone.
If you like PVP, you can go there and have fun for ever you don’t care about content. If you don’t you have hybrid WvW, but you have to wait few hours to get there first and during that time probably changing colors of your clothes? As soon as you get there you will also understand, that bigger zerg always win. You could say, that you don’t have to fight with zerg and that is true, with 5 ppl you can take over even Keep, but eventually there would be opponent zerg somewhere, and this is where the fun ends. Besides find 4 other, as your guild mates are probably still in quote.
After almost a month of GW2 I am a bit disappointed. WvW are all about zergs and this is because (I think so) maps are too smal (basically distances between castles) and there is not enough NCP (that stays neutral), between them to slow down the aggressors. This leaves not much space for any kind of tactic…. Currently the war could be all about 4 castles…. 1-st zerg is attacking “Castle A”, 2-Nd “C B” and 3-rd “C C”, after taking over 1-st “C B”…….
DD are all about grind and most of all completely not rewarding grind…. Maybe some would like to go there 40+ times to get look alone, but for me costs, as gold as the end is nerfed is not a good reason to do same content over and over again. As I’ve said I don’t mind doing single dungedon for 50h+, but let it be 10 runs with option of saving progress, to casuals instead of 46 times same content.
Agree with everything, for me there is one fundamental missing activity, and that is there is NO alternative for Raiding, which is what probably the majority of perhaps ex wow, new GW players want, and before anyone says they don’t want ex wow players anyway, then perhaps you should ask Anet if they would like a slice of the most succesful MMO in historys player base, I think you shall find their opinion differs from yours.
Truth is, pretty much everyone who plays MMO’s is already doing so, very few completely new customers to the genre will materialise bar those who are just coming of age, and if GW2 doesn’t hold onto the ones trying their title out then it is destined to be another also ran and that my friends is the sad truth whether you like it or not. At the moment despite the game being great as a levelling experience I don’t think GW2 has enough content to hold onto those players.
And yellow mobs pathing through your aoe on the ground that you were busy kiting a mob through, meaning you end up with 1 veteran, 2 crappy normal mobs and 3 gazillion golden moas on your A**.
I should log off now gettig angry thinking about it.
And the worst part..a fundamental piece of the game ie dodging is rendered useless as you are terrified to dodge because of the super high likelihood you are going to dodge INTO a respawned mob you killed 5 seconds ago thus pulling 2,3,4 mobs and ending in utter disaster. Spread them out a bit allow us to kite that veteran to death using skill instead of getting it to 50% before pulling 300 adds which happens a lot of the time.
It even looks garbage as you look across an open piece of ground and there are like 40 mobs in an area big enough for maybe 4, all standing still (No Pathing)facing the same direction like someone just copied and pasted mobs onto the scenery haphazardly, in a couple areas they have fewer mobs with interlocking paths which makes the environment more realistic but mostly it’s just pasted trash with 0 thought or effort.
I have two lvl 80 characters already and am completely bored of the game, I like the social aspect of MMO’s and for me that means getting together with people 2-3 nights a week and raiding, GW2 doesn’t have this I kinda thought the dungeons would fill this void but they don’t and are tbh garbage, playing the same thing 5-6 times a night is not the same as beating one or two bosses a week with friends progressing through endgame content, I don’t fancy grinding thousands of karma for a set of gear only a couple points better than whats available for silver on the AH.
I got to 80 on my first char, not a lot of people at that lvl so lvled another waiting for people to catch up and tbh now they have it is just a pretty empty feeling, I love the style I love the combat , can be super frustrating at times especially aoe spamming mobs and you can only dodge x2 so the 3rd time you end up in an aoe circle you will die and nothing you can do about it, these kind of things take the fun away combined with crazy respawn rates etc and ressing at waypoints meaning you have to fight the same crap mobs all the way back to where you died just feels like your being punished a lot, I don’t play games to be punished lol it’s supposed to be fun repair costs are punishment enough.
Just not for me, great title but not enough endgame content for me, and no grinding fecking karma or tokens I do not class as endgame content, neiother is unlocking a map, endgame for me is progressing through gradually more difficult encounters for a reward at the end of it. GW2 fails miserably in the endgame stakes so for me it’s Pandas, ciao.
I completed both of these skill points within the last 20 minutes on an alt character, Aurora Glade eu server, so no bugs here.
Your best bet for full utility mate would be a trackball type mouse, you can place it in a comfortable position, may take a little getting used to though but within a few hours should be as natural as a mouse not too expensive either.
Something like this, note this is very cheap one. http://www.amazon.co.uk/GMYLE-Handheld-Trackball-Optical-Laptop/dp/B005675BB0/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1348245101&sr=8-7

Considering cloaks were removed due to clipping it makes you wonder how bad that must have been when the rest of the armor weapons etc clip so badly, My char has long hair and I purposely don’t use a shield as when it hangs on the back the hair sticks through the shield, trivial I know but looks garbage.
Lol you don’t get it, the skill stuns before bursting lol other then that we move arround alot
No dude YOU don’t get it when he didn’t run away and instead approached your little group then stealthed, that should have been your queue to spread out since you knew what was incoming, if all 3 of you got hit by the stun then it’s your fault.
I was getting chased down by a gp of 3 on my GS warrior the other day almost out of hp my heal came off cd spammed it and turned to face them they ran at me in a tight little gp and stood facing me about a foot away, I actually laughed as I pressed 100 Blades quickly followed by Whirlwind and turned all 3 of them into dust. Is my warrior OP? No they were convincingly beating mykitten but they made a boob and grouped up and faced me straight off and then STOOD in my hundred blades for the full 8 swings.
Their demise was entirely their fault for not moving away, dodging, employing correct tactics instead they had tunnel vision trying to burst me down for a kill.
No idea, it was a joke.
may seem a stupid question but you do know the money doesn’t auto go into your mail like other games you have to go to TP merchant and collect it by clicking on the collect tab the very bottom looks like a open box? Items purchased are also in here and must be physically collected from merchant by yourself.
I think he is looking at a mystic coin and thinking it’s a gold!
Tbh resolution will make very little difference if you have an underpowered CPU since it is still calculating the same physics, tesselation etc. If your CPU is underpowered and you lower resolution you see little to no improvement in Fps, GPU yes will make a lot of difference lowering resolution but only if the Cpu isn’t already bottlenecking the GPU anyway.
Do you have the Graphics card overclocked in catalyst control centre? The sliders that allow you to increase the mhz etc? if so then reset to default I have this issue with a 5870 if I increase the power in CCC it crashes but resetting it to defaults is fine seems to me the inbuilt oc is unstable.
Game runs relatively smooth with the exception of screen tearing

Your trying to play GW2 on what is essentially a big calculator, at high resolutions too it seems, that system just wont run the game at that resolution (If atall)without burning itself out. Upgrade required I’m afraid.
It’s not an issue with the game, or an issue with people’s hardware. It’s an issue with Arenanet being liberal with the truth when it comes to what is required to play this game. My pc is couple years old and wasn’t a world beater back then. Amd HD 5870, Phenom ii X4 820 2.8Ghz, 8gb RAM. Like I said no world beater but should be better than averaging 30-40 fps on low dropping to 10 fps in wvwvw or dragons. Bottom line if you don’t have a newish i5 or better CPU then you probably won’t have a very good experience with GW2 Anet should really be discouraging sales to those below that standard. Pretty poor show tbh game over for me.
My wife has an i5 in her pre-built acer desktop with a kinda crappy gt something vid card, she has to play on low / medium settings but still pulls solid fps even in huge zergfests the processor is definitely the key ingredient here I can afford to upgrade my mobo/processor but have to ask myself is GW2 worth it? All the other games I play run perfect on my system so can I justify an upgrade to play one game? Answer has to be no especially when it’s full of bugs anyway.

This quest is a disaster and extremely frustrating the first time I ran it I experienced same bug as the OP, second time it bugged a little further down the line, last time I ran it i got all the way to the part after placing the water orb on the mounting and it asks you to “take back the docks” when I enter the docks there are thousands, and I am not exaggerating , thousands of mobs, waves of risen knights keep spawning some of them are greyed out and unnattackable but can still damage me, the NPC’s are quickly overhwhelmed and you are left to try and fight thousands of mobs which is completely not possible as they are spawning faster than you can kill them, utter disaster of a quest preventing me from finishing personal story, this just isn’t really acceptable I’ve seen this quest reported on countless threads adating back to 1 day after headstart launch and it is still completely broken.
