I think the thief is good at decapping and +1 fights. But is that what thief is supposed to be? When we look at the thief, i look at assassins, rogues etc. What do they excel at? high single target burst and 1v1. Anet actually describes the profession on the site as someone who excels at 1v1’s, which ironically isn’t really our strength, and imo our burst is not high compared to what other classes can offer in single target/aoe burst. So while the thief is good at decapping and +1, I don’t believe the thief lives up to the image that we have in our minds when we think of thieves.
It’s one of the two ‘villagers’ (no special name) in the quaggan house
All of these errors were already mentioned in my 1st message though. : p

several errors in the message, on top of multiple people getting this without reason, ON TOP OF the message stating it’s from another player and not actual gw2 staff. If so, is anet already aware of this? Imo it’s a pretty urgent issue.
I think it should be added aswell that you’re using withdraw, but seemingly are unable to perform a forward withdraw. This is a great gapcloser+heal and could’ve made the fight at 4:00 less sloppy. There you withdrew away, used whirling axe and at the very last moment when you finally got in range used steal. Doing a froward withdraw+whirling axe+steal would’ve been your best option.
If you’re not sure how to perform it, use free camera, left-click once, then hit the about face key and withdraw. To avoid camera-weirdness, hold left+very slight drag+right click during the animation to avoid walking back. A simple right-click at the very end of the animation works aswell. There are also other ways to do it (the only reason i’m not using this is bcs i’m not bothered to key-bind free camera).

Well, tbh, i knew that there is no best thing. I was looking for a general build. The main problem is that i can’t experiment myself since i play with 28 FPS, graphics set at lowest. In order for me to be able to experiment in wvw i basically need to get a good graph card 1st. Just out of general curiosity though, but do you go panic strike, 2/6/0/0/6, 2/6/6/0/0 or 0/6/6/2/0?
I’m fairly unaware of the current metagame, and I don’t find metabattle a very useful site, simply because it lacks detail and when i compare it to a guide, I rlly have no clue who to believe.
For wvw i’d like to know the runes that are being used. I’ve heard tons of people saying strength, ogre, traveler and pack are all strong options, however I’ve also had people telling me some of these aren’t really strong atm, so if possible i’d like to have that cleared up.
As for consumables, i’m still pondering whether to go oil or sharpening stones. I’ve already checked guides etc, and both of these are used. For food i’ve seen tons of stuff that works: seaweed salad, omnom ghost, orrian steak frittes, truffle steak, spicy butternut squash soup etc.
And lastly, What is the best option for gearing? I’ve seen builds ranging from full GC to nearly full valkyrie, both working fairly well.
Hmm – I sense Zhaitan’s nefarious work here. There are some text books I need to consult within the Durmand Priory library that may shed light on this situation. I will return. Many thanks for your assistance.

I missed something in a dialogue after the 1st mission of the episode
So, stupid as i was, i quit the episode, thinking i could restart it. Once i comfirmed that i wanted to quit the episode. My screen freezes and becomes unresponsive. No matter how much i relog, i can’t go to story journal tab without getting a frozen screen again.
Now i can’t play through the story :/
I’m experiencing this issue too.

No problem with the skill it self, but very often wen i use this to travel, escape or chase. My character suddenly turns around making me heartseeker to my death. This has also blown my stealth cover plently of times. I’ve alrdy checked, and it isn’t anything like auto-targeting. the only way ive found to prevent this is waiting to do the next heartseeker when i can walk after performing the last one. Any idea how to solve this tough?
Summary: Imagine you are in the obsidian sancrum arena or in a dungeon, where it might be needed to switch traits depending on the matchup. (e.g. elementalist swapping to diamond skin for a condi-heavy opponent) But to reset the traits, it might take some time, and tbh it’s quite annoying to change it the whole time.
Suggestion: Make it an option to set-up different trait builds, which can be activated by simply selecting them from a drop-down list of templates you have made. This makes swapping that much easier. (literally in 3 seconds or less)
