I have ascended gear, only one set but it does the job however, all this gating, boring content after the first few hours and this constant grind has really ruined the game. If I had told my past-self that I would be more bored after HoT than I was before I would have passed myself off as crazy but the reality is, all the different ‘middle finger to player’ elements of the expansion have driven me to take a break.
Don’t even get me started on WvW.
It requires several tries to get past. Took my about 7 relaunches of the client and one of my guildies 12 tries.
It’s not a weapon/item effect. It seems to be more of a graphical error that sometimes happens, especially when you consider the player is a mesmer and they usually have these kind of effects.
Hope I don’t get into trouble for this, saw a guy in HoTM called Osama Bin Laggin

You cannot say Krall does not play WvW, in fact he probabaly plays more than most people in this thread, we’re in the same WvW guild. He may be the worst player in the guild but he still plays
You’ll see MANY more devs/anet employees in NA servers than EU. Almost 2 years of EU servers and never saw one, one of the first characters I saw in NA was an Anet employee
Oh, also since you mentioned roaming, I wouldn’t say its a strength or weakness. I was in a roaming guild part-time on Piken, we didn’t find loads or too little fights, the borderlands are usually pretty quiet for roamers during the morning and midday.
Greetings! I’ve been on piken for almost a year now and here’s my honest viewpoints.
The good:
- very friendly and helpful community
- plenty of guilds to chose from depending on what type of WvW you’re after
- this is not my words but from those who freshly move over here that out ‘pugs’ are more skilled that those from other servers as almost everybody is in a WvW guild
-zerg fights – if this is your type of thing you’ll find plenty
-organisation – we have weekly server meetings on teamspeak, a commander trainee program supported by all our veterans and served initiatives.
-from what I hear, other servers have strict rules in their WvW, we have next to none.
- drama? What’s that?
-eternal battlegrounds will hit queue every prime time, on reset we may get two queues but they don’t usually last that long.
The bad:
-coverage is pretty abysmal, our night hours were extremely weak but we have an NA guild in the process of moving over
-match-ups are a bit of a pain: We either get night capped constantly (Baruch Bay with their hackers as well), come up against underwhelming servers or servers that roflstomp us due to coverage like Gandara.
-We have an american called Roy and he’s an absolute kitten
Now I don’t play as much as I used to so somethings may not be completely correct , just as far as I can remember. Feel free to mail/w me ingame and I’ll get you talking to some 24/7 WvWers I know
Portal mesmers – absolutely fine. It adds that little something for the scouts.
Ninja guilds – again not bad IMO, whilst the large guilds are fighting their multiple battles at one or two points the smart idea is to go and cap something else which the enemy doesn’t see coming.
Experience is proportional to your level. Doing an event with 2 people at different levels will result in both receiving different amounts of xp but the same in terms of as a percentage to the next level up.
I’m pretty sure this proportionality applies whilst taking low levels to high level areas although with a level gap as big as the one you mentioned, you would get killed in one hit by every NPC on the map.
I don’t play ranger and never will, in fact I despise them but check this site out, metabattle.com . Has nice builds for all classes.
For thief, double dagger is the most challenging, sword/dagger is just funny and dagger pistol is easy mode. You could always go full kitten and use condi though.
Why can’t they just make two or the overflow for the popular maps where everything is ‘hard mode’ sound like the easiest thing to do.

Although variation is nice in your view, for one of the servers you are fighting (Piken Square) the amount of fights we will find this matchup will be lower than any we’ve had in the past month. For the people who legitamitely enjoy WvW, it’s always nice fighting higher rank servers, makes the server try more than they would otherwise and find more fights.
I talked to a few of our frequent EB com’s just before reset and they hoped we get FSP and GAND, even though they ROFL stomp us the fights are amazing.
From all the forum hype about the expansion, I find the is one way harder to believe.
It’s more likely that we all log in on the 24th with an ominous voice just saying ‘it was all a dream’ and that being the end of story content.

Don’t you remember the hype train for the cutscene after we killed Scarlet which suggested Morderemoth awakening? People screamed expansion then but this time, it is indeed different, everything seems to be for a larger scale.
Perhaps the death of destiny’s edge is the intended point of no return but I don’t know how this will impact personal story missions as all the members are important in early levels.
So I live and breathe WvW but I still do LS because well, why not? I have to say, this was an absolutely amazingly well done finale (priory bit was a bit dull) and the ending, just wow. Can’t wait for Wooden Potatoes to cover it.

Reading through this issue a few times I’ve noted that people have had this problem with ‘RIFT’ in the pass with ISPs classifying it as a P2P service thus allowing it to come under scrutiny of traffic management. The company that runs RIFT, whatever they are called, had to contact the ISPs and work with them to get it changed.

Hi there, I don’t often make posts on the forums about anything but something has been annoying me recently. I have a moderately good internet connection with 23 ping and 56mb on average but for the past 3 days my characters have all had troubles loading wherever they are, Lions Arch, Queensdale or anywhere. The few rare times I get in, any more demand required like going to WvW or a dungeon just gets me stuck at loading. Running speed tests whilst this is happening indicates my speed is the usual speed described above.
I’ve tried restarting gw2 several times, restarting my internet, restarting my computer and there’s nothing else I can think of.
I’m not the best with computers, would you mind telling me how to do that?

The game crashes about 10 seconds into ANY WvW map. Also, recently is the first few times I’ve experienced the game not responding.
