I have to voice my agreement with the OP here. These new dailies are quite annoying. The greatest thing that drew me into GW2 was the idea that ANet gave you the foundation and you played how you wanted. That seemed to be the matra of the team. However, these new dailies don’t adhere to that ideology. Before I could pick a direction and run and finish my dailies while I played doing what I’d like; now it seems the small window of time I’m afforded lately is spent doing the daily. Even in WvW, with the old daily set, you could finish the daily with just an hour or so of WvWing [given you’re in an active WvW server, I’m sure].
I like the idea, getting players to travel around maps and see new things, but the fact that Coins and Laurels are attached to them makes them more like a chore than a nice thing to have; the kind of thing that eventually drove me from games like WoW. I feel that if Laurels were obtainable through some other means, I’d feel less like daily completion being a compulsion, and more another means to achieve a goal.

I agree with and endorse this idea 100%. I think it should also extend to town clothes as well, and should include a wave of new and different items of town clothing. I really think that there should be more opportunities for Town Clothing to be used in general; it has such awesome potential and yet all of it is untapped.

In letters and scripted events, accent marked letters appear in place of what I have found out [through asking friends and looking over another player’s shoulder] should be dashes of some sort. I thought it may have been the fact that I have my system locale in a non-unicode language, but that’s not the case because said player has the same system locale. Even so, I tried changing it, to no avail.
What’s causing this, and how do I stop it?
In screencap, the problem occurs in the signature of the letter.
